  1. Different Strokes for different folks I guess. Like me I have a ton of different Manufactuers and love to try them all. These rods are a little than the compareable Techna Av or Elite Tech. I have bought the Elite Tech and have sold them allready. Fenwick made a mistake in making them. Techna rods are much better. If you are lookin I have a brand new Techna Av casting 7'mhf for sale. Never used still has plastic wrap on it. I beleive I have 2 of them actually in my fishing room somewhere. PM me and I will give you a price.

  3. I'm not so sure they sell them here. I knoe fishing world sells some of their tackle storage stuff. I'm not to sure on the rods though. PM blake and he can tell you. I have bought mine from Cabelas and Takle warehouse. I have all their tackle storage products. They have an organizing system that is by far the best out there. The rods are very well made as well.
  4. I dont think I can count that high anymore. LOL. I have gone as far as getting them custom built now as I cant find anything on the shelf that suits me anymore. Can you say "TACKLEHOLIC"
  5. I have posted these before but the Grant Koppers line of crankbaits have been catching me alot of fish this season. Guy is actually local and runs a charter service out of the Niagra region. I have been having alot of success with them. Soft plastics. I love the new Baits from Set the Hook and the New ones from Bass magnet lures. Soft swimbaits are producing for me. I recently discovered bass magnet lures and have ben liking what I see so far. Last but certinally not least, my favorite drop shot bait is Mark Kuliks slammers and gobies.
  6. I wont post how many for fear my wife will see. I think you would be surprised how many some people actually do have. Including my fly fishing, salmon, trout, ocean, bass, walleye muskie, etc. I have acumullated a few over the years.
  7. Thats awesome news Lew. Good to see everything will be ok with her. Have a good relaxing vacation.
  8. People jumping on a Band Wagon full of worry warts. Come on, it will nevr go the way of a "Great Recession" ever again. We had to slow down sooner or later. We have been living in a Disposeable Society for way to long. Easy come and Easy go. I'm in the building industry and I have seen it coming for a while. To many young people getting large houses because the interest rates were low, stupid, stupid unfortunate people. What happens to that $400,000 dollar house when you renew. One point in that great rate of yours and you loose your house. To many people in society have extended themselves beyond their means. Eventually it catches up and balances out. The world is changing, change with it or move. Funny thing here. Smaller 1 child familys, houses got bigger, cars got more expensive but we were forwarned but most people never gave a Dam. Noe all are crying. What will I do. Take a loss live in a moderate size house. Spend your money wisely. No a new concept here folks, just a bit of common sense. You will not see the older generation caring as they have went through it. My generation is in for a rude awakening for sure, need to be taught a lesson. Happens every so often. I hear people complaining about immigrints here in Canada all the time . They are the smart ones. They all pitch in and buy a house and pay it off quickly and move on to the next one. They do the same for everything and they are very money weary. They do this because where they come from they had nothing. Maybe thats what most need to be reduced to. When you have very little and its not handed out to you on a silver platter then you will have respect for society and how its ran in general. My parents came from nothing and made something. They shop for bargains and stuff all the time. I do the same. I can wait that week or so if need be to save a buck. Everything here nowadays is foolish. Have a home cooked roast in 10 minutes. Mcdonalds, burger King all these fast meals. Your kid gets out of school and goes to college and is offered a Credit card, how many kids credit is screwed up before they become an adult, result they have to get that high interest mortage cause their credit is bad, and so on and so on. Makes me laugh. My advise, slow down and use whats in their heads. Buy what you need and not what your nieghbour has to out do them and spend only what you can. Be money wise and things would be fine. Make no wonder we are all under so much stress. Thats my 2 cents
  9. Everything will evolve eventually like everything else does. Some of the weed species we have here in the beginning we were all in a panic that they would ruin watersheds but now it is just a normal part of our lakes to our benefit. Lake Simcoe locals said the lake would be ruined by the invasion of the Zebra mussels, result. Massive Smallies now, walleye are there but they have moved. You need to adapt. Most of the smaller lakes like Scugog have some areas that have clear water now from them that harbour very large Smallmouth. Things will reach an extreme before it gets better. Gobies will reach their max and become a natural part of their food chain.
  10. I have been using these xact baits. I bought them at Fishingworld in Hamilton. I use them some of the same ways. I will even wacky rig a soft jerkbait sometimes to imitate a dead minnow falling down.
  11. Awesome news man. Great fishing out there

  13. Balsam will be ruined for sure. Such a clear lake the Pike will thrive there very easily. I would give it a couple of years for sure then it will be over run by Pike for sure.
  14. I have caught 2 Pike there this year. I saw a guy catch a very large one there on Friday. There has been a few more catched there this year. The 2 I caught were around 6-7 lbs. I have caught Tigers in there before as well. Most of the pike have come from the Mouth of the trent on Mitchell side.
  15. Check first!! I read the question. These are all very small and thin. The Decoy's are very thin and razor sharp. Zappu hook I buy at Trembleys in Orillia and are very small and sharp. I beleive he asked what you use. I can post pics and actuall sizes if it makes ya happy!!!!
  16. Gamakatsu Wide Gaps, Zappu Inchi Wacky Head , Decoy Wacky Worm Hooks
  17. That store was cancelled long ago. Bass Pro has now bought the site and opening a store in the fall ther. Cabelas has only taken over Sir out of Manitoba.
  18. Fishin chip was usless here. I did get one for the Southern US from my cousin buying me the unit. Great for US but not for here.
  19. Does anyone here run one of these on their boats. I just bought one and wondered how they work. http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Marine...Specifications/
  20. Great report! Nice that you cleaned the fish on the chevy afterwards. We have all done the same I'm sure.
  21. STR1352GLX for THE RIVERS HERE. Steelhead, salmon FR1208-2 I use this one for Salmon back home. I use it hre for Salmon and Trout as well.
  22. I beleive that place ill be no longer. I think even their website is shut down. I think they will be closing soon from my understanding. Frontier rods are knowhere near the same as the GLX blanks. You do not need the protective coating on a rod to make it stronger. It will actually add to the weight of a blank. Some manufactuers will not coat a rod. Fenwick, shimano, Daiwa. Look at some of their rods. They have no gloss on them. Sometimes a rod with a gloss finish will break quicker due to the scratches they get, they will break at the scratches sometimes. Dont get me wrong, they are very nice rods but are not the same make up as the GLX blanks. I have 3 Frontier rods and they are awesome. They dont perform the same as a GLX either.
