  1. West Hill is a nice area. I live there. I back onto a Creek, 5 minutes walk from the lake and close to the highway. I can be downtown anytime in 15-20 minutes. I can get piza @ 3 in the morning and be @ the Launch on Scugog by 4am.
  2. There is another trick to use while runnin braided line. Run the braid through candle wax or surf board wax. It makes the braid slide instead stickin to the pads and stops it from sinking while working the frogs slow. You can also use the dry fly spray found in most fly shops as well. I melt the candle wax and run it from an old baitcaster and them dry it and spool the nwer rel otherwise it will be messy as hell.
  3. I use G Loomis frog rods. I now have the 2 new designed frog rods released this year @ Icast and let me tell you they are amazing. They only have 2 so far plus the older Green one. I have been using the livin Kello frog as well as the Diving frog from OSP and there is another very nice frog that imitates the reel thing which is called BASIRISKY HARD BELLY 60. These are impossible to tear up. The newer Spro frogs have went up in price and went down in quality. The lead will come off very easily and they will last for a few fish till they start to swallow water so to speak. I have found a very nice trick to keep them lasting longer. Use a gel based fish scent and cover the bait with it. This tends to make the bait slide over structure and the bass tend to hold on longer as well. Stay away from the Tru Tungsten frogs, complete junk. Eyes will fall off and fall apart very quick. You still have my number. We will go out next season for some good frog action. I have a spot that will blow your mind when it comes to frogs. I actually use them late in the fall in the back bays for Walleye. Deadly bait for walleye in the dark and very late in the evenings.
  4. I dont know if its just me or does something seem wrong with a bunch of guys and a giant moustache going to a lake called "Gangbang Lake"
  5. Go down Rama Road and you can Launch at the Trailer Park if you want. You cn Launch at Lonford or off Airport Road. Lonford is probally the best. You will see it going down Rama Road pass the Casino and keep going till you see where the new pavement starts and you will see longford on the right. Then take that road to the end. You will see the launch. Maybe you will catch lunch
  6. Dual Console for sure. Single console is kinda like washing your feet while still wearing your socks. Lol
  7. Wasnt there a posting about opening it in 2010 for ice fishing. Panfish only I beleive. Hope they do, especially to tone down some of the panfish populations. I have been gtting crappie/Bluegill everywhere in the Kararthas this season. Very large ones as well.
  8. Gerrit is right , keep this post clean guys. These 2 are some of the best anglers out there and do a ton for the sport. This post is meant to congratulate them not to bash.
  9. Congrats on the mlestone. Figured it would have come from Simcoe but non the less its still a huge bag on Smallies. Congrats http://fishin-canada.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2808
  10. Hey Dan, Look into the nes that you dont have to drill holes to mount. I'm thinking on getting one to stop my boat from porposing.
  11. As I wipe the coffee off my keyboard, I agree with some of this but its the internet. If guys want to start name calling, well thats what the live chat is for. Hell I learn words in there I cant seem to find in a dictionary. I dont get a chance to post much anymore due to work and family but do contribute. I get alot of Pm;s asking where I was fishing. I tell all guys and try to answer most posts usually but have no problem sharing and even offering open seats most of the time. I have found there have been a few idiots lately on the board but overall I find this one to be the best. There has been a few guys name calling but that just shows there character and sometimes it takes very little time to reveal. GCD is kinda like the comic releif of the site and to read his posts makes my day sometimes. Funny and angry and sarcastic all at once. He is like our own Howard Stern,LOL. Overall the site sems to be the best. I dont get any I have won a million dollars and I need to send $5000 to Nigeria type of emails. Site is clean and the mods do a hell of a job. You will get alot of people who need to vent sometimes but everyone has a bad day now and then. I'm on every board out there and I seem to frequent this the most. Keep up the good work guys
  12. Jeebus that fish looks like me after an all you can eat BUFFET. Congrats. They have started to fatten up allready. ?Mmmmmmm
  13. Dont waste your money. I have them and they are nothing special. Yes they are as sharp as they say but basically same as all the rest. They will hook up something firece if you are not carefull.
  14. Ha to funny. We have caught that same fish at least 5 times in that same spot usually on the same dam bait. There are a couple of them down right there. There is a big fallen log that comes out over the water there as well. Usually another one in there hugging the bank. Look straight down to your right where that guy has the plane. Under his neighbours dock you will get usually another nice one. Awesome to see that catch and release works.
  15. I got these the other day as well. Sexy single russian brides I think. Email is full of them lately.
  16. You are probally talking about JB's fishing depot. Very close to there.
  17. I learned to do this in a Saltwater enviroment. Works very well on freshwater applications.
  18. Run the threads with a candle after you get them loose and this will never happen again.
  19. I caught a small Muskie in there a few weeks back. Maybe 7-8 lber. Tons of Pike. Some of them getting bigger now. Lots of nice bass. I've only ever caught Walleye there in the spring .
