  1. Staged or not, definitely entertaining. The loose trolling motor is great. Taking the trailer hitch off the shin is something everyone has done for sure too. I just could never understand why all he ever fished for were Largemouth??? Still don't get it.
  2. Cool little story...good luck with the walleye. And it just goes to show that an old dog can learn new tricks!
  3. I get the sense they are trying to do the right thing but are walking on eggshells.
  4. "Kowalski refused to identify the suspect and didn't provide an explanation" That one paragraph seems very odd to me. We'll see if anything meaningful actually happens.
  5. That poor girl really gets it right in the face...point blank and not even any time to react. Bye bye eyebrows.
  6. The vehicle does not have a trans temp gauge. Spoke with a guy from a local independent transmission shop...granted he is a bit biased but, he even installed a cooler on his wife's sedan. I guess it couldn't hurt and I do plan on driving this vehicle until the wheels fall off.
  7. 90,000km on the vehicle, 10k left on the warranty. The vehicle didn't come with the tow prep package from the factory but I did have a hitch recently installed. My boat doesn't weigh too much, approx 1500lbs but I may upgrade to something bigger in the future.
  8. With the upcoming boating season on the horizon, I'm thinking of installing a transmission cooler on my "new to me" used Sante Fe. Seems like cheap insurance to me but was wondering if any members had some opinions on the matter. Good idea? Waste of money? Let's hear it...
  9. Not only that, but I would never consider submerging my bow under water like that...unless it's a piece of crap in the first place. I'll stick to traditional bowfishing, it's plenty fun.
  10. No hunting licence required to bowfish carp, just a fishing licence.
  11. Hilarious, looks like you guys always have a good time fishin. Those specks sure look tasty too!
  12. Whatever they are, they probably wouldn't be too hard to catch! Pretty sure they'd eat a topwater, especially if you rolled it in ground beef first.
  13. Just had a hitch and wiring harness installed on my Sante Fe a few weeks ago at U-Haul...think the labour was around $75 for everything. I don't have a heated shop at my dispense, so at this time of year I though it was money well spent. I'm more than happy with the final outcome.
  14. Majestic animals, especially the bulls. Would love to hear them bugle during the rut.
  15. Rod Caster, nice looking property. To be honest it kinda makes me jealous! City life blows.
  16. "I will say though that seeing people switch sides every stroke drives me crazy ! Learn proper strokes and pick a side. Every paddler should know j's, pries and draws. ok, I feel better..." Hehe! Too funny...I thought the same. Seems strange to go through all the trouble of building your own craft but don't know how to properly paddle it!
  17. Now that is a canoe I wouldn't mind portaging for a change! It looks like it would be fun to play around in too, turns on a dime.
  18. LeBarons has them. Just bought a pair of bibs the other day. $130 for the bibs, jacket is the same price.
  19. KW area resident. 3 people at home in a single detached. Gas averaged $146/month for Jan and Feb, Dec was $119. Hydro averaged $92/month for Jan and Feb, Dec was $75. Lived in the house for 10 years and for the first time our main water line to the house froze. We have been hooked up to our neighbours for over a week now with our basement faucet running 24/7. Was told this arrangement could last until the end of Aprill.
  20. Hey that's awesome! Congrats.
  21. Haha! Nah...too fishy!
  22. Moose nuts or moose knuckle? Sorry, couldn't resist.
  23. Depending on how fast and how long the run is, I would use a drop shot or 3-way rig with a live minnow and drift with the current. Fish it just off bottom. Boat control is key and the toughest part of this equation, you will need to keep your line as vertical as possible.(and you don't want to be doing 360's) I've used this technique on the French in the past and it served me well.
  24. Well that settles it...bought 4 pails today and just tapped my trees. Hopefully not too late, can't wait to see what happens!
  25. I've been using a Honda CRV(2.5L AWD) to tow my rig for the past season. Smaller boat than yours but I'm guessing around the 1300lb range. Never had a problem on any ramps, some quite steep. That being said I just upgraded to a Hyundai Sante Fe with the V6, no experience with towing yet though. AWD makes all the difference.
