There website says $99 a jug if it was 90 id be going to buy some! from what i have read, i may be wrong but optimax oil is literally quicksilver repackaged. Its the semi syn blend recommended for all mercury outboards...guys in the states typically debate between yamalube, quicksilver or a lot have switched to pennzoil. Therefore the Quicksilver TCW3 4 litre jug available at royal is the same deal. but in a smaller package which may be more convenient for some. Gotta love living in Canada once again where our options are limited and our prices are sky high!
-
I also just called Royal 48 bucks a jug for amsoil
-
damn you just sent me into the weeds now lol. We run amsoil for our snowmobiles so it may make sense to pay their "premium customer fee" to buy the oil for 38 bucks a jug if we are going to also buy our snowmobile oil. Although 2 bucks a jug savings isnt that great when you can get quicksilver semi syn at royal for 40 bucks a jug. I have no friggin clue why i am such an idiot and didnt buy a case of pennzoil premium plus for $20 a jug when i was down at walmart in the states...smh I am an idiot.
-
thank you for finding this...their pricing beats canadian tire for quicksilver. Its odd they dont have pricing on the flyer. You know what is really friggin ridiculous. you can get penzoil premium plus for 20 bucks a gallon down in buffalo...its pretty damn close to worth the drive to walmart in the states...gotta love paying 40 bucks a jug up here.

There is no way in hell AM gets Mcdavid money... he will get his pay day as he should...but theres a huge huge huge huge difference between a guy that played 62 games and had 63 points and 2 points in 7 games in the playoffs vs a guy that put up 108 points in 82 games playing for the friggin oilers. If you are the leafs, you do your absolutel damndest to sign him now while there is "uncertainty" about his health/longevity and the fact that he hasnt scored 50 goals in a season yet. Lock him up immediately at a discount, because he could end up scoring 50 this year and putting up 100+ pts. I have a feeling AM doesnt want to sign because he knows he can put up stupid numbers this year, and when he does his payday will increase substantially.

There is a kill factor indeed, but catch and release works...I just put the same fish in my boat 2 years apart nearly to the day. There is a benefit in tournament fishing to keeping your livewell fish in good shape. Most guys out there are doing all sorts of crazy stuff to try keep their fish in the best shape possible. IMO its way better than the old catch and kill days. I think the rebound of the fish population in almost all lakes proves it. guys are catching more big bass then they ever have. They absolutely smashed the canadian record on simcoe last year 3 times over in 1 single day. The walleye population on georgian bay is on the total rebound since they put a slot 2 fish limit and stopped the commercial fishing up there. guys are catching obscene amounts of walleye with ridiculous size too. There is definitely a kill factor, i agree, but does anyone have difinitive proof of "poor" percentages? From what I can tell, with proper catch and release tactics, fish swim off strong. I will make a point that there is a huge difference between some people's catch and release aka catch, hold the fish out of the water for 10 minutes while taking photos, throwing the fish on teh floor of the boat etc compared to others. Having fished with Pete Hoffman for muskies...I learned how to handle musky in perhaps the best way possible, meanwhile I watch guys in "muskys" Canada throw them on the floor of their boat and yank hooks outta em. I apply what pete taught me to every fish i catch now. I carry a pair of knipex to cut hooks if neccesary, release fish when i can from the net...and give fish a long breather till basically full revival before picking them up for a quick photo and off they go. One of the best rules of thumb, when you pick up the fish out of the water...hold your breath...if you need air, put the fish back in the net and let it breath as well.

I know amsoil is available in Canada, but how do I know which oil to select? Ive been running penzoil premium plus, but you cant get it in canada either. Anyone know?
-
all of the guys down in the states running v maxes swear by pennzoil. Harder to get up here but my 2 stroke yammy is now 20 years old and runs like a friggin top...the previous owner went down to the states to buy cases of the stuff and has sworn by it...who am i to argue. I get almost 0 smoke out of mine.

i hope the idiots were centrepinning or fishing with some other really expensive gear. Classic...the guy has previous offences...shows that the penalties arent harsh enough.

thats a really cool picture. Water temps were crazy, the top layer got hot last week, water was up in the 70's and then the wind came friday and knocked that hot layer off and I woke up Saturday morning the water was 61! I was happy to see it colder, means the spring fishing is going to last longer. High of 11 and 13 tomorrow up there...keeping things nice and cool! Musky not open in zone 14 yet..so pike it was!
-
make sure to take pics...and regardless of what happens, as long as you get out fishing!

well, the number of willing snot rockets was just ridiculous this weekend. Caught more than i could count...I took my girlfriend out softwater fishing for the first time in her life on saturday. I taught her how to use a spinning reel and it came with a warning..."You are going to catch a big friggin fish today, i guarantee it...its your first time out...its just how its going to be. I will be here to guide you through the process, just be prepared" She proceeds to catch a pike on the third cast of her life and then... we found the queen and it ended up being the exact same fish as my buddy caught last spring. Shes grown up a little but looks to be in good health. 32 inches, id put her around 10lbs. I guess she didnt learn though, the A 5 of diamond spoon was her nemesis again. My girlfriend is a natural, her demeanor is such that she never gets overly excited about things even when she is very excited...she is calm and collected. She hooks into this pike and just says "scott i think ive got something big" she handled the thing like a pro. Hook perfectly in the corner of the mouth. Threw in the jaw spreaders, pupped the hook out and let her relax in the net aquarium. Couldnt find the damn fish glove so it was a bit much to ask her to hold her prize considering she had never held a fish in her life. I picked the girl up for a photo and off she went like a friggin bullet. Maybe we will meet up again next year.

the midges were definitely out this weekend, definitely no may flies annoying, but manageable. better than the mosquitoes and blackflies that were also swarming lol. Rule of thumb Ohio...its the same every year...the fish are up shallow and eating like absolute crazy until the mayfly hatch every year. Huge pike, walleye all found right up in 5 fow, then the mayfly hatch happens and everything moves out deep. The bass dont seem to mind though for whatever reason, they are still insane until august, then the fishing gets tougher.

those americans are going to enjoy the 25% tarrif we put on maple syrup and rye whiskey this is a great heads up...does anyone know if this includes boat parts and components? Im running an american made boat myself and am now concerned that any parts that i purchase would have this additional tarrif.

my problem with the improved clinch is that it has somehow managed to come undone on me wayyyy too many times. I dont know why but it just seems to fail occasionally on hard hook sets. I can tell that its come unraveled because the end of the line is "crimped" as in you can tell it was twisted up tightly. My father is unable to tie the improved clinch these days, its too difficult to pass the line back through the bottom twist and then back again for him. -
my mom was up in Pointe Au Baril last weekend and said there was no blackflies...i said she was insane...but im starting to believe her now? Last year was insanity...I guess i will find out on saturday!

the trick if your hands are banged up like mine is give yourself a huge doubled loop to work with and a foot of tag end..you use a bit more leader material but its about as easy as tying an overhand not then. Only prob with palomar ive found is that it breaks lighter fluro or mono if you aren't super careful. -
