  1. If your name holds up to it's reputation. I have an idea that you may be able to pull off. To gain access under the base to be able to secure it below. Is there room to cut out part of the false floor to make an access way. Then when you have the chair in place turn that hole into a storage compartment. Just a thought.
  2. Add another to the list. Especcially when I get to go to the cottage. I have those feelings all the time even though I get to fish an average of 4 times a week.
  3. I just take my boat to the DIY carwash and hose it down. This way I can clean out the live wells and the outside of the boat at the same time. Really easy and inexpensive. If you do this do not look into the live well as you have the hose on high, you get really wet.
  4. I can't help you. Alll the lures that I used last year to catch big pike are not producing this year. I've only caught one and it was on a teeny little white spinner bait. Although they are working great at catching bass right now
  5. Nice boat. I like the fact that it is over 7' rod locker. It's hard to find a boat that will hold my rods, as most are 7' and longer. I too would go to the 4 stroke. I'm looking at a very similar package by Ultracraft. I am pricing it with a 60 4 stroke. I was told that moving up to the 75 is the bigger and heavier motor, so I opted to stay away from that. I'm in a two stroke now and want to get away from it. Although it does start in the cold no problem which was a big deal here for a bunch of guys with the 4's.
  6. As a person who has been homeless, I find this disgusting and very pregidous. We have a lot of less fortunate people here in our neighbor hood, right in front of our store. Yes they can get out of hand sometimes. But they are also the eyes of our streets, which I am happy for. To say that all homeless people do is make a mess, I beg to argue. I wonder what they say about the rich bass mom with her 2 and a half little monsters running around screaming and making a bigger mess. I'm glad I make my own coffee for the most part.
  7. As some of you have noticed my boat is for sale http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19622 . I am in the process of looking for a new boat. I need something with a lot of storage. So far I have it down to a few, with a Lund 1600 Explorer taking the lead. My local marina has Ultracraft boats. I know nothing about them and am wondering if anyone here has an opinion of them?
  8. Had this problem with a 9.9 at the cottage. Turned out the seal was toast one the block. Had it redone and all was good.
  9. Would love to be there for it, but I am sure it's too far away? Noticed that you have a tourney at Weslemekoon Lake for the Canada Day weekend. It says invitational, what exactly does this mean? I am interestted in this as I will be right there that weekend.
  10. Ya that ship is a regular through here. My favorite one is BIG LIFT, It's a big yellow Tonka style. I don't have any pictures of it however. Thanks for the heads up on the date. Didn't even know it was there. New camera and the inept don't mix well.
  11. Been out a few times with no luck this year so far. Well kind of no luck. I've caught a couple of 3-4 lbs oos bass and a couple of measily perch. Last night I skipped out of work early, it was way to nice not too. Came accross a ship heading o my spot. After I took the picture I thought to myself, what was that post on OFC about taking pictures of vessels on boarder waters? Oh well. Had a few really good hits while trolling, but didn't land anything, not sure what happened there? Then throughing a little spinner I caught this beauty. She put up a nice fight for sure. It was great hearing the drag scream again. Measured in at 30 inches. Not sure of the weight, but it was heavy. Not sure if it had just eaten something or is pre spawn as it was pretty plump. I did not submit this pic for the tourney as I know I'll get a bigger one.
  12. It does not shut itself off. When the battery is charged it will run a load to stabalize it. It only shuts off if you unplug it.
  13. I have that exact charger. Got it last year. It works great. Used at least once a week if not more. It does charge fairly fast. I do put the 2 on for a nice long slow charge once in a while though. My batteries have never failed me. Except when I got the boat and trusted the shop to say they were charged Both of my batteries are at the back of the boat and easy to get to. If needed I could just unhook the motor from the one and attach it to the other, no boosters needed. Hopefully it will never come to that though.
  14. I guess I should come clean. I caught and kept a bass back in November (closing day). I froze it for a later date. Needless to say, it is still in the freezer, (wifes saving it for a special day?) Does this mean I am in violation of the law?
  15. I'm the same as Dan, I just put it in. I have no clue what my MPG is. I know it's not bad, but is not great either. I put about $30.00 every other week. Although this weekend will be more for the trip to the cottage. I'm not changing my boating plans, although I don't go out for just a little scoot in the morning with a coffee before work anymore. It does make me think more about a more efficient motor though.
  16. What I find really funny with this is that you have to take a course on how to properly land and handle a fish. What does it matter if it's gotta be killed anyways?
  17. I have to agree with everyone else. If you have time to post here, time to fish, etc. You have time to get the regs. There are no excuses. I have 3 copies and read them regularly.
  18. I believe that it is zone 20, If it is accessable by boat with out locking. There is a popular creek here that runs a fair ways in from the river that is great pike fishing and it is zone 20 so I imagine you would be the same. That's the answer I got back in Feb. from the MNR just to make sure.
  19. If you can get behind it, check out the wiring. May have come loose or corroded and not getting a proper connection. I know that is the problem with mine, I just haven't the time to fix it yet.
  20. Get any closer and you will be knocking on my door. First off, there are no pkie in the Larry, I proved that last night in the wind storm. Here's what does work in these waters. An HJ14 Rapala Husky Jerk (5.5 inches), in Tenn. shad. A Reef Runner deep diver in white. White spinners, along with black and red hair jigs. These have been my best productive lures so far. I wash many, but these are what produce. Good luck, and have fun.
  21. If your freinds are coming from Montreal. Have them take the Gardner's exit in Kingston. Goes straight down to hwy 33 (Bath Road). That will get them off the 401 and they can enjoy a more relaxing pace with better scenery to Picton.
  22. Hey Lew. Just go straight down from Napanee to the lake and take the ferry accross. You'll have no problems as you will be well away from anything.
  23. It wasn't the MNR, it was just some guy in another boat. Most of the locals are familiar with my boat, as I don't go far from home. They also know me through the business, and talk all the time. I try and get them out, but no luck so far. They know I respect the rules 100%. My boat is also just a wanna be bass boat (just makes me feel good calling it that) It's a Lowe Stinger 170 w/ 50 rude.
  24. Sounds like you did your part by making them aware of the situation in a polite manner. In return they responded the same way it seems. It is very possible that they still fished, but changed their plan of attack to meet the requirements. It's kind of like the situaion I was in a couple of weeks back. I was fishing in my bass boat, using my bass rod. On the deck of my boat I had my pliers, cutters, etc. that I always have. Bass season is closed. I was fishing perch, with perch gear (somewhat) I do not own a perch boat or rod, nor do I want to. Had a guy approach me and accuse me of bass fishing. I made it clear that I was not on bass turf and pointed to where it was. I also pointed out that the tools were there just in case. I would much rather be prepared to release an oo fish, than be scrounging for stuff to make do. In the end the only thing I caught was zebra mussels.
  25. Sorry, didn't mean to disrespect.
