  1. Water Source Heat Pump... same idea as a ground source heat pump. The one issue i have seen with this setup, is while the heat may be free... the hydro to power the system is not. I built a massive high end house in The Bridle Path area. Albeit it was a geo thermal system... hydro bills were close to 2k a month! Mind you this was a HUGE modern house... Ask to see the electric bill... especially in the winter months. G Edit to add... Do you if they are using radiators or in floor?
  2. Jos @ Angling Outfitters is Great, Tim and Greg @ Bills Bills Bait and Tackle are awesome.. Two young guys doing the best they can. If I am buying electronics I see Jos. For everyday terminal tackle etc.. I see Tim and Greg. I noticed today a new store opened up on Upper James... (has not been there long...) Just South of Mohawk on the right hand side of Upper James.. In the plaza beside the TD Bank.. I did not have a chance to stop in.. as I had to run into the bank to make a deposit.. But I will check it out soon.. G
  3. Randy, Nice Looking setup!!!!! Soooooo.... can you pitch a tent on that site? Sorry to hear about you're mishaps! but just like moving into a new house and trying to find the bathroom in the middle of the night.... you just get used to it! G

  5. Jig and a worm has always produced for us on Nipissing. Keep it simple, locate the fish and jig you're little brains out.
  6. As, Raf pointed out... There is shore access available just past the lift bridge (Parking) If I remember correctly I think you have to pay to park. You can walk for miles on either side and wet a line. Alot of people just bring a lawnchair and chill on the piers. G

  10. Bowmans is great.. however they are on the south shores of Nipissing, and not Callander.
  11. If it was my money... (which I know it is not..) and if I was looking at resale value.. the 2010 Etec is worth alot more then a already 6 year old motor.. If down the line you decide to sell.. you might not get what you want if the motor is 12, 14 or 16 years old... vs.. 6,8 or 10 years with the ETec... also there is a difference in technology given the date of the motor you are thinking of buying.. I am not sure if in the long run the 1500 you save now.. will save you 1500 when you decide to sell... I am not trying to sway you in either direction.. as they are both great engines.. I am just thinking of resale.. a 6 year old model vs. a NEW model.. New or not... people want the latest technology they can afford. I would also be a bit concerned about the rings, impeller etc in a 6 year old motor that has just been sitting there... perhaps all dried out? Good luck either way.. I am sure you will have a fine motor when you are done. be sure to post pics!! G
  12. Say that to my dead 2 year old Interstate Cranking battery... G
  13. Thats a nice ride...
  14. Hey guys... I went to top up my Interstate Cranking Battery today as I try to do monthly, and it is not pulling any current from the charger.. So I thought great! it is charged! Took it out to the boat installed it.. and nothing. Ok I thought maybe dirty terminals... Clean them up put it back on charge.. still drawing no current. back into the boat and nothing... I thought this is weird because it was fine 5 weeks ago! I opened up the caps and they are topped up. OK maybe my charger is defective... grabbed another battery I have laying around put it on the charger, and it is drawing current.. So I know the charger is not the issue... What would make my cranking battery just die in 5 weeks without use?? And can I use a plain old auto battery (Group 24f) in the mean time without damaging anything? What would the differences be between the two batteries? Thanks in advance guys I know I asked a few questions here... G.
  15. I am counting the Days Mike! I have been pretty busy with the new business. I am finally my own boss again! I was making good money with the company I was with... but could not stand working with a bunch of 30 year old children.. So when my review came up and I was already at the top of their pay scale, I would have made over 100k if I stayed as an employee... The thought of that scared them I think.. they suggested I sub-contract from them to make even more money.. So that is what I did! Next Friday cannot come soon enough, I will be on Nipissing! Sorry for the hijack of the thread. G.
  16. Hahahahaha!! The ETec's are quiet, almost no fumes and weigh less Dont get me wrong they are both great motors I just wanted to know what made him pick the Johnson G.
