  1. pleasure boater on the pool --- LOL! We have just achieved "on fire" status....nice! I hope you are feeling a bit better, F7Firecat....it was a dumb thing that happened...but it's a dumb world we live in
  2. I'm finally starting to get Danbo's pictoral posts...it's the whole "picture says a thousand words" thing..... I think.....
  3. yeah.....what he said
  4. hmmm....should I make some popcorn and watch this one heat up?....
  5. Depends on the partner for me....if it's someone that is really new, it's a great and memorable experience to teach them a few techniques and put them on some fish....but if that's all you end up doing and never get to really work the water the way you want to...that can be a bit of a let down. On the other hand, if you've got a partner that you work well with....the two of you cover the shoreline, weedbeds, different depths, different colours, until you find a winning pattern, I don't think it gets much better. My best friend and I have been fishing together for about 15 years, and something wild and crazy almost always ends up happening. Like christening a new rod/reel combo on a pike and bass at the same time....or nailing a PB muskie on bass opener with 8lb test and no leader....or getting skunked on walleye all weekend until you make a few changes and light up 14 in the last hour before heading home....the hits just keep on coming! In the end, it's all about balance...I'll fish on my own if I have to, but I'll go out of my way to get my buddy in the boat And of course, now that I'm engaged to a newly addicted fishaholic, I never have to look very far for someone to join me!
  6. Well, I found it mildly amusing, but my 8 year old son is howling...made me watch 3 or 4 more clips from the site
  7. thanks for sharing...bring a camera next time and show us some pics
  8. At work! But then up to the parent's place in Muskoka on Saturday night to take a few casts while it's still opening day...maybe even do a little midnight bassin'....? Hmmmm....won't have the boy-child with me....probably do a little secret back-lakin' on the Sunday.
  9. Good going! 4th out of 150 is amazing! I wonder if the perch was 76.8 grams? Nah....had to be more than that...or it ate a lot of lead jigs for breakfast?
  10. that is incredibly small! nice find....I wonder if a fish would take a shot at him....they go for crayfish the same size or bigger... Whoops! Not that I'm implying using him for bait! Just wondering if he'd get preyed upon.
  11. way to tough it out and find 'em Thanks for sharing the pics!
  12. Forks of the Credit area can be good...as much for the scenery as for the fish...strictly c&r, no organic baits, barbless. Worth a try though....the scenery is speck-tacular
  13. Hmm....I think I saw it in connection with WFN....trying to Google it....
  14. I'm pretty sure there are open auditions for the next TV fishing show...you better get on it!
  15. Those are some really nice pics! Very well done! PS -- I think the current where you were might have killed this particular idea, but on my last canoe trip, I used a drift sock and it worked like a CHARM! Howling winds going by, and you're just inching along, fishing quite happily. $24 at LeBaron...could be worth looking into.
  16. wow---nice little piece of heaven there way to go
  17. this sounds pretty intriguing....hopefully you will post some pics of your progress along the way!
  18. beyootie trout, eh! But, no, I DON'T remember pulling a laker that nice out of the ice... But I do remember the ice fishing....hard to believe it wasn't that long ago compared to today's temp.
  19. Wow -- I knew those Osprey's were good at catching fish...but they can clean and fillet them as well?!?!?! Good post Twilight --- now get a lanyard for that camera and strap it to your wrist!
  20. Yeaarrrggghhhh...scratch that! I will be sitting inside the cottage watching the thunderstorms that just got bumped to Sunday! Note to self: bring more beer!
  21. Sweet! I got 2 free Frapuccino's at Starbucks today, 'cause their debit machine was broken. That's almost kinda sorta the same thing
  22. Going to the fiancee's cottage. MY parents are gonna meet HER parents But they are on Gull Lake in Minden....I'm bringing some heavy spoons and jigs...should get a bit of fishing in while we're there
  23. At the end of the day, I'm just happy to be on the water...and I would have to say that sharing the experience with someone barely edges out catching that monster. To catch the trophy while enjoying it with someone else....that's the ideal. Good luck at work this weekend....I will be sharing your pain until about 5:00 tomorrow.
  24. I am just conserving energy....embarrassed to admit that I was too tired to stop by the Brewer's Retail on my way home...maybe a walk over there tonight for some ice cold refreshment HHMMmmmm...and some catfish in the pond out back?? HMMMmmm.....just a little while longer inside
  25. Not a bad idea at all....
