  1. Hey all -- on my trip to Temagami and some of the small back lakes next week (can't believe it's almost here!) I want to bring a couple of small lake/gang trolls with me....any suggestions on what to tip them with? I suppose a minnow would be the obvious choice, but live bait may not be the most convenient up there. A tube jig? Fly? If anybody has a suggestion, I'd love to hear it
  2. Oh geez...first we're playing the race card...now it's orientation? Heeeere we go....
  3. I heard someone pulled out a 15 lb-er from there today or yesterday.
  4. Very nice....I think a couple fishing shows have filmed episodes up there? Looks like good fishing....if they ever need a couple extra pairs of hands, PM me

  11. If you head up Mississauga road a little further to Burnampthorpe, then turn left at the lights immediately after the bridge, stay left and go down the hill, there are some nice stretches up-river from that access point.
  12. all the self-admitted lazy folk seem to come out later in the day Only 2.5 hours of work left... but too many hours too count before I can wet a line...still gotta drive home, pack, drive north, kiss mom, throw the canoe on the truck so it's ready for the morning and MAYBE fish before breakfast. Or make mom breakfast, then go to church THEN fish for the afternoon. but I'm whistlin' while I work, and the day's almost over.
  13. well, maybe you can play drop the soap at shower time.....
  14. I wonder if the Mennonites have noticed a decline in the quality and quantity of fish?....that is, the ones fishing that spot year after year. And Jed, you make a very good point.
  15. Well all these great excuses sure are helping the time go by quickly at work That and secretly printing maps off the Atlas of Canada site...
  16. I am stuck at work on this glorious morning....if you are reading this, then I ask you: what's got you stuck in front of your computer?
  17. When using a lure for the first time, toss it in on a short line so you can see it in the water, then experiment with a couple different retrieve methods, to see what it actually looks like. Find an action you think looks good, then make your cast and impart that action.
  18. yeah, you are antsy....I think sharpening the hooks is prolly good enough
  19. I've used PowerPro for a few years now, and love it. Palomar knot is perfect for it, castability is superb, especially when it's brand new. Just got some red stuff for this year...so far, it looks pretty good in the water...the test will be how it fades. The green stuff goes almost white, and it's a little more visible as it gets older.
  20. interesting... I would love to hear how it goes...looks like a lot less resistance than a pink lady/dispsy diver....kinda cool. fire off that report once you get the hang of it! (please )
  21. fantastic report man...thanks for sharing! And that one photo in the morning mist....it's an award winner for sure! I am two long weeks away from heading up north, and now I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight after reading that report
  22. wow Ric...that's a great post! I wandered downtown the other day, and my biggest problem was where to park, but, I did find a few spots. A post like that is a real confidence booster, which really helps when you're down there and not sure if you're in the right spot or not. Thanks!
  23. ohhhh, that is messed up! Gotta find the rest of that flick!
  24. well...[supposedly] it could have been worse... And it will definitely make the next time out much better
  25. Heading up to Muskoka....so no pike or walleye yet. will make sure the motor is good to go for next weekend though, and hopefully, HOPEfully, hit a certain little back lake for a repeat performance on some ice-out lakers.
