Welcome aboard, GSP. From what I can find, Emsdale is Lakers and Smallies.....stopped stocking lakers over ten years ago as it appeared they were reproducing naturally. Can't find anyhing on Fisher, but would highly recommend calling the local MNR office up there and ask to talk to the biologist....they are super helpful. May or may not know anything about the lake, but worth a call IMO.

I'll be out there too...first time on Rice for me. I know I'll recognize Stoty's boat if I see it.....did you settle on a name, btw?

Beautiful pics....looks like paradise! Fantastic laker as well.....my jealousy says 15lbs, but I'm sure it's more like 18 Congrats....that thing's a monster! I've found the length/girth formulas to be pretty accurate over the years, especially for lakers...I don't even know where my scale is anymore...just get the measurements. But kudos for not worrying about that stuff and getting it back in. Heck, just tell everyone it was a 20 pounder, you earned it!

I saw the same pics. Posted by a fellow who claims he was there and watched the whole weigh-in and "release" procedure. "Release" being in quotes, because as he claims, most of the fish came back in bags. He also claims that there is now an investigation going on, so, maybe in a few months we'll hear something about it.

My personal opinion is that tournaments can make whatever rules they want, and I could care less if they want to ban a certain rig. Why are 8' rods illegal in certain tournaments? For the sake of arugment though, I will say that counting the number of hooks on the A-rig and comparing it to a crankbait is pretty weak. The A-rig has 4 separate bodies, each with their own hook. 4 targets. The crankbait is one target. Like I say though, I really don't care

I have read one person's account which stated most of the walleye weren't even released back into the lake. By the time the release boat got them out there, the majority had croaked.

Nice crankbait combo got posted for sale today in the OFC classifieds.....

Is there an Angling Specialties out your way? I've been to the Mississauga location, as well as the Jane/7 location and both seem like good bets for that sort of thing. I thought there was a Scarborough store as well....?

ORdered up a few lures...split the shipping bill with a friend....not too bad. Could have shipped it to relatives in the States for less....but after splitting the cost, it was only a few bucks more to have it delivered to my door Now if only I had stuck to just buying a couple LT craws....
