Just because you are "new" doesn't mean squat. If you know more than I do, and are willing to share, then your input is as welcome as the next guys. Thanks for the tip!
  6. + temps next week in my parts according to the forecast.
  7. Made me think of this: An Obituary printed in the London Times - Interesting and sadly rather true. Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend,Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: - Knowing when to come in out of the rain; - Why the early bird gets the worm; - Life isn't always fair; - and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or a paracetamol to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights I Want It Now Someone Else Is To Blame I'm A Victim Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Thanks to a fellow board members advice, and other research, I made the plunge into DSLR territory today. My 16 yr old daughter is playing with it now, so i cannot take any pics to upload, but that will happen soon enough. What should I be playing with first? I do not have a lot of experience with a camera, but am willing to learn what to do. The lenses that I have are: 18 - 55 auto focus and image stabilization 28 - 90 auto focus from a FILM canon rebel. What can I do with these?
  9. I think we scared him away.
  10. That is a handy dandy tool!
  11. Weigh the cost of the repair vs the cost of replacement and you may be better off to replace the motor.
  12. HOW DO I SIGN UP!!!!???????
  13. and you did not invite me!? all that is missing is the grolsh
  14. Loblaws, Fortinos, Sobeys, and apparently some people have been known to catch them by putting time and effort into looking for them on the water. BTW, there is a book out called How to make friends and influence people, look it up at Chapters.

  19. That just gives you a fuzzy mouth....not that i would know, it's what I have heard.
  20. Shaving my head, no, wait, that makes me cold and fuzzy. The movie The Sound of Music esp the Eidelwisse scene where he picks up the guitar for the first time since his wife's death. Gets me every time.
  21. Well, this just ruined the surprise. My older brother has one, and it is quite a neat thing. IMHO a really big smart phone.
  22. You can do it, otherwise I get your boat. That is what your wife and I agreed while you were away from the table last week. I wish you the best with the challenge ahead. Or do like Terry, don't smoke the last one, and don't quit. Just have a smoke on you.
