  1. Take the spool out, and using a q-tip clean the bearing with some lighter fluid. Then take ONE drop of good quality bearing lubricant (ie: hot sauce) and lubricate the bearing (s). Clean the shaft of the spool, re-assemble and your good to go.
  2. And the pot gets stirred.........
  3. I have my batteries and fuel tank midships in a custom plywood box. I was rear heavy as well, but that is mostly from my own weight and the motor. Placing that weight there balanced out the boat quite well. (My water line is quite hilarious when you look at it) With a 20 hp I am able get up on plane quickly and at low speed I have the nose down. I am running a 14 fiberglass fishing boat with a trolling motor on the bow so it might behave differently than yours. Hope this helps.
  4. Educate me please....what is the difference between a brook trout and a coaster? Is coaster a slang name for a type of trout? If it is a char, does it turn a brilliant red as well? Beautiful looking fish!
  5. In about 14 years you will be in one of the most joyous times of your life. I have a house full of teens, and I have never had so much fun in all my life. That being said, don't forget that your wife is who you will spend your life with, don't forget her. I still remember sitting in a rocking chair a puddle of tears at my feet holding on to my newborn daughter for the first time. Welcome to the club and congrads!
  6. Not to be a smart simply tie on a lure of your choice, let out 10 - 200 feet of line and drive your boat at a slow speed.
  7. HE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. However one must bear in mind the the square root of 69 is .....8 somthing Fiqured I take this thread even farther south....
  9. That is the ULTIMATE first post!
  10. Go to Service Canada to register your boat. If it is less than 10 hp you don't need to do that.
  11. Brains never were my strong suit...
  12. Here I thought he was just breathing heavy.... Thanks a lot Dave! and TJ and Spiel, and Roy and Rick.
  13. Poor solitary you, I use mucus..... I think the lube points can be noted by the GREASE nipples along the shaft of your motor.....I think grease is the word.... *I know, I know, very punny*
  14. Congrads Rob! Here's to 25 more!
  15. Well, one good experience leads to another. (Spiel repaired a rod for me, and I can't tell the difference )

  17. No problem, mon. She should not have a problem at all.
  18. I truly enjoyed being your net man today *sigh* and photographer and ......*sobs* But I most enjoyed the time on the water and I learned that there are actually other places to fish rather than the grand between erie and the dam. If ever you would like a repeat performance, just call.
  19. Gasp! A VERTICAL hold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. I do minor and major renovations to homes and busineses.
  21. And the most amazing thing is that we were able to do a MAJOR renovation to our house together without any problem. I built it she told me how. The home we live in currently was a cat house fomerly. (4 legged type) When we took over the house we were ankle deep in used cat food....
  22. Tomorrow my wife and I, (well I), celebrate our 20'th anniversary. She will probably spend the day rueing the fact that she saddled herself with such a creature as I, while I will be astounded that she has been able to tolerate me for so long. She is an amazing woman, as anyone who has ever met her can attest to. The worst is, business has been so slow, I can't even get a good steak for the BBQ.
  23. I had no intention of trying to recover it, but it got me wondering.
  24. What is the law for recovering a boat that has gone ashore. I saw a 20+footer on the shore of Lake Erie today that had a boat nearby that was obviously watching it. There is no doubt that this was a wreck, the whole boat was up on shore and not at all able to navigate under its own power. Can I walking on shore lay claim to the vessel by going on board and recovering it? This is not a moral question, but rather a legal one.
