  1. We are already going to be camping at the very tip of the Bruce, (Cypress lake national park) and need to meet my brother at Pinery for the balance of the week. So that would be a full day of driving around Georgian Bay, not the way I want to spend my vacation. Granted it is a beautiful drive!
  2. I just got off the phone telling Wayne's sister-in-law that we will not be coming to her resort on Manatulin Island due to the fact that it would have cost us $123.00 x 2 to take the ferry . I wonder if that has a large impact on the tourism industry up there. That is a large chunk of our vacation budget spent on transportaion costs. I am quite disappointed that we cannot go as it seemed like a very nice place to visit.
  3. Go easy, I have a heart condition.
  4. He means what he says, people, I HAVE seen his smile..... More gaps than a lockstone driveway.
  5. I did drop your name........I hope it did not hurt, (groan) So much for gettin' a discount!
  6. My condolences on your sisters passing. Thank you for thinking of my needs at a time when your heart is torn. We are going to reserve a spot tonight online. Her rates are very good as well. Once again thank you.
  7. Yes he is a decent guy to spend time with ain't he! I still have great memories of my time fishing that same lake with him. Nice spot to be, eh? What brought you to SK?
  8. Rob, you did well! That pickereye must'a been tasty!
  9. Thanks Pachone. I guess I will have to throw a line and see what happens.
  10. I feel your pain, however the good news is that 13 year old girls do not want to be activitied to death. They will find many things to do all on thier own. That is why you want to make sure there are no 13 - 15 year old boys around...... One of the best things I remenber is just discovering things on my own as I was growing up, and I have found with my kids, all four of them, the unsupervised, or so they thought, time was the most fun. Remember how mature you thought you were at that age? Let them think that as well. Just keep an eye out. Good luck! it should be fun.
  11. I am looking for some info on where I might find some toothy critters in this area. I will be without my boat as SWMBO has said we are pulling the tent trailer and NOT the boat. I hope to be up in that area July 15 - 18 and then in the Pinery's area the next week. By the way a hook up is MOST welcome!
  12. Forget it, you can't here from there....403 all the way. Wanna do lunch? You're buyin
  13. YA COM'ON TJ post the receipe!
  14. People like you just pee me off! Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Try Long Point Bay. On Erie, you can get into some nice perch there.
  16. Well this is what my gear oil looks like now...... I ain't never done a seal before.......but I'ma gonna learn me how!
  17. As I was going along from spot to spot, I was frustrated that Lure Laundry was not geting up on plane. I found out why when I pulled out. I had about 60 yds of mono wrapped around my prop. Please do NOT toss your broken line into the water, it hurts wildlife and ruins prop seals.
  18. So the big day had arrived, my brother-in-law the pilot / aircraft mechanic, was coming over to help me with my fuel problem on the other boat. The night before I prepped the boat, everything was ready for launch, (to the dock), I had no intention of going too far, as we were going to sort out this fuel problem once and for all! We get to the dock, launch and tie up to the dock, pop the shroud, I start the engine and he says, "Well I have seen enough, you need to rebuild your carb". Fuel is just urinating out of the carb throat. So back on the trailer it goes. Later that day...... The water bug is itching me REAL bad, so I hook up Lure Laundry, and off to Caledonia I go. I am fishing above the dam, trolling across a stream outlet, pulling a chartruse spinner bait, when BAM I have a massive strike from a 1.5 pound smallie. Ok, maybe I overstated that I had a ....... strike. I reel him in to the boat take him off the hook, and say Bye Bye. Later on across another stream outlet, BA_BOOOOOOOM this time it's crushing the scale at 1 pound! Smallmouth they are a great fight. I then decide to target walleye, rig up a slow death type harness and start to drift with the current, after the gobies are done tormenting me, I reel up and get my one keeper.........a scrappy 1 pounder, that is now digesting as I write this.
  19. Thanks for the tips guys! Where do I launch to be near Bait island?
  20. I see people shore fishing at Bayfront park, quite often. There is also a very nice free boat launch at that park. Cootes paradise is reputed to have pike and bass making a comeback.
  21. If tuna season is open, try to get on a tuna boat, otherwise makerel is were it's at. I have family on the island, and that don't help much...
  22. WHere are some inexpensive or even free! boat launches in the inner bay area?
  23. If you go to Valens they have wheel chair accessable fishing platforms throughout the park.
  24. That is the second time you have had that honour, however I am sure Cliff didn't toss you overboard.....
  25. Hometown Handyman is the name of my small business. My boat on the other hand more aptly describes me as a fisherman - "Lure Laundry"
