  1. 1990 GM 1/2 ton, every 20K needed to replace the front axle seals on the diff, not a quick job. They had to drop the front diff each time. 1994 GM 3/4 with the 6.5 diesel, 7 injector pumps, oil cooler lines, transfer case seals, rear axle seals, rad hoses that had funky connectors, clutch that had the dual mass flywheel. Never another GM product.
  2. That's one of my regular Xmas gifts, good for another year.
  3. No personal experience with the electric socks, but like you said, hit and mostly miss and a crazy price.
  4. Ya, neighbour had 2 of his winter rims on his GM rust out from the inside out, complete junk.
  5. After trying different methods and socks, I keep coming back to this product, just toe warmers on the milder days, full length ones for brass monkey days. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/grabber-foot-warmer-insole-0750117p.html
  6. Metro is the store for Prime Rib, usually some pretty good sales, 3 in the freezer already.
  7. What's for supper this week? Mustgos. Everything that must go before it turns green. Won't have to cook for at least 3-4 days.
  8. Just to help you out, a lot of the recipes for tourtiere use ground beef/pork, not the same. L St Jean recipe uses cubed meat with wild mixed in if you have it. An old friend gave me one of the best cooking tips ever, go buy this and your pastry dough headaches are gone forever. I can only find it at Food Basics but some other places list it. You can roll this stuff out paper thin, it's flaky and re freeze unused portions. I can make 4 pie shells and lids from a 1kg loaf. https://www.metro.ca/en/online-grocery/aisles/bread-bakery-products/desserts-pastries/pie-shells-crusts/pie-dough/p/056326710307
  9. Merry Christmas and the best of health to all.
  10. Doing the Tourtiere a la Lac St Jean tomorrow, 1/2 beef, pork and cubed potatoes, onion, garlic and pepper wrapped in pastry dough in the big blue roaster. Mini ground pork pies and salad. Only thing missing is a chunk of deer, can't have everything.
  11. It's going to be an iffy week, not really all that cold for the next while.
  12. That's sad, my bro just had to put his little pincher down for an inoperable fast spreading disease, 2 days before Christmas, life can really suck at the most inopportune times.
  13. Long time ago used to fish with him in the Barrie marina, super nice guy and pretty mellow.
  14. Photoz, that's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
  15. Have to heartily agree on disconnecting. The insane amount of people you see walking around with phone in one hand and a pretty close second place is their favourite version of coffee. Health sources forecast a large amount of people will suffer from phone thumb because of the amount of time swiping, it's not a natural action. Secondly and probably more severe will be the head/neck bent forward staring at the device, another non natural position.
  16. Sure hope it has a loooong glide capability.
  17. Well they're like those phones that have wireless charging, on the beaver you just install the vibrator pad.
  18. Ariens had its workout today, 50 year old machine still does the job well.
  19. I had my incognito hat on, hahaha. I looked around or you no luck.
  20. Ya, show was alright. Like the idea of those little ice pik screws for the boots. Picked up a couple butter tarts, look delicious. Appears more in line reels are being made, no curly line with them. I looked at the striker suit too, not approved as PFD so that's out of the question. I sure wish all the important people would do their texting in a corner somewhere instead of jamming up the aisles.
  21. Hahaha, I keep looking over my should wondering what's going to go wrong.
  22. Uh oh, lack of mirrors and dissention in the ranks. 🤣
  23. Looks like the outdoors card machine is working well, got mine today too.
  24. Not to sound like a pessimist but what are the chances, slip fall, boink your head and the darn thing doesn't auto inflate. I like the old tried and true jacket style pdf and in cold weather, a float coat.
  25. Haha, if it isn't on youtube, it's never been done.
