  1. Make sure you cook and eat that banana before your next excursion, or else......................
  2. Acme Kamlooper spoon - This was my first 'lure' when I began fishing 50 years ago and it has never disappointed.
  3. Float the Saugeen with someone that can pick you up downstream (several locations) depending on how far you want to go. Plenty of bass along with musky to keep you going. The Teeswater has some pike to play with right in town.
  4. bottom bouncer with chartreuse blade spinner rig equipped with a stinger hook and dressed with a large minnow was my searching tool when I fished this lake. Then a switch to 3/8 jig once contact was made. Northeast arm of the lake was my go-to.
  5. FYI regarding CO powers. Note that they require a warrant for a building used as a dwelling. The powers afforded to Provincial Officers under the Environmental Protection Act, Ontario Water Resources Act, Pesticides Act (to name a few) are much stronger than the provisions for the CO, Ontario Fire Inspector. Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act Search warrants, further search powers, etc.91. (1) A conservation officer may obtain a search warrant under Part VIII of the Provincial Offences Act. Searches without warrant(2) If a conservation officer believes on reasonable grounds that there is in a building or other place any thing that will afford evidence of an offence under this Act but that the time required to obtain a search warrant would lead to the loss, removal or destruction of the evidence, the conservation officer may, without a search warrant, enter and search the building or other place. Dwellings(3) Subsection (2) does not apply to a building or part of a building that is being used as a dwelling.
  6. Small deep diving crankbaits have been my best producer.
  7. I lived there for 15 years and spent my time on lakes where occasions seeing another angler were few and far between. You will enjoy.
  8. For a DIY outing, bring an auger and frozen smelt and your lines. I would recommend Porcupine Lake right in town for pike action. Access the lake at Deadman's Point (south side of lake half way).
  9. Garmin 76CX plus map chip. Bought it at West Marine who price matched LeBarons.
  10. Another knot to consider.
  11. http://www.cedarcourt.ca/reservations/ I have not stayed there; however, I have read good recommendations.
  12. Not to be confused with all-season tires, I have all-weather tires on my Frontier. Nokian Rotiiva. I travel frequently in upper NY state in the winter months where road conditions are considerably poorer than what we experience in SE Ontario and have not been disappointed.
  13. Angler's Atlas has what you need. www.anglersatlas.com
  14. IMO opinion Charleston is a nicer campground with plenty of good fishing at both destinations. Charleston has lots of water with several areas you can have to yourself, if that's appealing.
  15. Enjoyed it very much. Nice write up of a great trip!
  16. There were a few Timmins back lakes where 'blue' pike could be had. My young lads at the time thought they were 'cool'.
  17. http://www.spoonpullers.com/ Have a read through this site. Some good info to consider for your outing.
  18. My experience with a similar situation was that they wanted me to ship the rod for examination. All I requested was another guide that I would install myself and provide them with a pic of the damaged part. I suggested that the cost for me to ship the rod and in turn their replacement of the affected section of rod was worth more than the guide. Nonetheless, they were adamant that I ship the rod. I dug out a guide of similar size and wrapped it on.
  19. Been there. You can purchase an elbow velcro ice wrap. Pluck it out of deep freeze and strap it down for your icing time. When finished, throw it back in the deep freeze for your next session. I brought mine to work to max out on the icing period. I was advised 20 minutes on/off for the first few days.

  22. My apologies; however, that's was the number on my invoice.
