  1. Do what every one else will do run upriver to St Clair or Downriver to Erie
  2. Wood used in boats-teak very expensive, south american mahogany a little less expensive than teak, or the cheap alternative is white oak.The problem might be structural integrity, you'll have to laminate a pc that big and marine epoxy cost and time spent it might be cheaper to just buy the plywood.
  3. Well I didnt want to give him Chelsey Lake might as well give him Gould as well
  4. Aaron lake is a decent pike fishery.
  5. What does Rob Green do when he wins the World Cup.......turns off the X-Box
  6. We call that the Canadian side(props to Bill H)
  7. Hope its better for you than it was for me last week. Only had one fish on(lost it) on a bumble bee suick. Two other follows for the week.
  8. I know a few people who have done Plummers and they said it was the best thing they've ever done. Don't forget the grayling fishing.
  9. Lazlo bluegills and sunfish from a pond are a great way to practice dont rely on just river fishing
  10. Tim, Ryan is right Deer Creek is a gem. You might want to also try Hunger Lake Conservation Area.
  11. Make it a winter project buy your own blank and build the rod just how you want it. Careful though building rods can become addictive.
  12. Do you mind wading? Were the outlet creek is there is a large rock shelf, wade out as far as you can towards the drop off. Cast away into the deep water.
  13. Walleye, bass, perch.Fishing is good for all three species
  14. Hey Doctor you ever fished landlocked atlantics out east? Just wondering if the fight is comparable. Might have to make a trip up to the soo. Save the drive to Labrador
  15. Pike Largemouth perch and sunfish. Huge Pad flats that are great to fish with weedless spoons or Jig and pigs. I like fishing in the nasty slop thats where all the largemouth are. Also it keeps you away from the kids who rent boats and drive in circles. Pike Ive caught by fishing spinnerbaits off the pad fields. The perch and sunfish are everywhere but small but they keep the kids entertained.
  16. If I had to chose just two lures. My search lure would be a Doc and my throwback bait would be a swamp donkee.
  17. For smallie fishing(which this is an excellent weight rod to use) I recommend a weight forward taper so a WF7 or WF8. Buy just a dirt cheep reel you won't use it for much fishing for bass. You'll probably have to go mail order if you havent got any place local. DO NOT REPEAT DO NOT buy a level line this is what most CT's and Wall-Marts sell.
  18. Good on you Tim. Took me a few years to get my first 19" fish. Your doing well.
  19. I think your thinking of Mill Lake off of Beaverstone Channel
