Musky or Specks

A put and take musky fishery similar to the lake trout and whitefish could probably be established but because of human impact on the bio-physical aspects of the lake I hold no hope of a self sustaining population.

The occasional pike moves downstrean from Woodstock section of that stream where pike are actually quite common.

Whoever said 50 isn't sexy doesn't musky fish.

Glad it worked out for you. God you should try lugging in a jon boat batteries and trolling motor plus musky gear. Here's one of the many musky I've caught there. This seems to be as big as they get. Although my sample size isn't huge(18 fish) But I always have a good time back there.

It also has to do with the age of the reservoir. When first flooded and for a couple of decades after. It will be a super productive environment but as it ages its productivity decreases.

The mud pout I eat are all about 8-10 inches when cleaned they leave a pc about the size of a chicken wing. Suck the meat off of each side after a quick fry. Its the only time I fill the white bucket.

Bullheads(or mud pout as we call em) are mighty tasty. Just a lot of cleaning involved.

Don't do it I did my bill went up double and my usage had actually decreased. Fought like hell to get out of it and had to pay a large penalty. Paid it because it was still cheaper in the long run.

Steelhead are an introduced species can't support giving them and lamprey more access. And by that I mean no different than carp.

Restoule is a great spot 15 yrs ago you could get cottages for under 30k.

All of my fishing for them Mike has come after the close of brook trout in hopes of finding them easier. Just not the case.

Don't be to discouraged by the lack of success for Aurora's. Ive hit them hard three different times over a ten year period and still haven't seen one.Nice to know that even an angler as dedicated as you couldn't manage one. Nice report though, I always look forward to reading them.
