  3. The treaties are an agreement that we, the Europeans made with the natives. This kind of behaviour and the "hand outs"/ dfferent set of laws are what we traded for the peace and prosperity that we have enjoyed since our forefathers arrived here. Its antiquated so lets get rid of those treaties. The natives should get full/market value for those treaty rights. We bite the bullet financially now, but in the long run we are a better country for it..

  5. Two Words - Treaty Rights. I agree its time to end all policies of segregation but its going to cost us financially. And the longer we wait the more expensive its going to be.

  7. Ive lost two rods and reels on stands to fish. One I was lucky enough to catch with a second line, 14 inch crappie still attached and the other I dream was a 8 pound brookie that still, like moby dick swims the deep water trailing my gear behind it.

  10. Years ago Mike spoke at our club. Him and Gord Pyzer are the two guys whose techniques I use the most. Laz's water sifting is still the first technique I use of the day.

  13. Because it is a flood controled river and the spawning habits of pike. Successful pike recruitment from spawning class on a year to year basis is very low. Pike spawn when the river is in full flood on the floodplain. (This is normal behavior) but then the taps are turned off at the dams and the eggs are left high and dry. Try the mouths of some of the larger tribs without flood control

  16. I'm getting different info on stocking numbers from FishOnline and your link. Is it possible this is only the clubs stocking list?

  19. So Im low man on totem pole for choice of vacation time. I'm going to take off for a week to Algonguin on the May 24 weekend. I don't want to be there for the 24 weekend however. Ill plan to arrive there on the Monday. From the Friday to the Sunday I'd like to float tube for Minden/Haliburton Area Rainbows to see what I can accomplish(something different for me). Looking for PM's and advice on the how(public) and where to go (PM) if I could get that kind of advice from knowledgable board members. Thanks in advance. Brad

So many to choose from but I'll go with going to Labrador for the first time on a last minute whim(was going to go to Nipigon)drive all the way there get out to take a look at the first place we stopped to fish. Rising fish everywhere. First cast 19 inch Ouananiche on a caddis. Stayed that way the whole 8 days I was there.
