  6. If you are going to be without power and the temperatures in the house could reach freezing don't forget to winterize your house. Turn off the main water and open all of the faucets both hot and cold. If you have a drain valve or bleed on the main water valve open that also. Turn off the breaker to the water heater you can drain the heater if you want it is not likely to freeze over a day or two.. Flush the toilets and then add antifreeze to the tank and the bowls as well as the traps in the sinks. Finally dump a little in the dishwasher and the washer machine. This should try to keep you from having frozen pipes and slit pipes. If you have a question feel free to P.M. me I will answer them as quickly as I can. Art

  16. Casting spoons. rattle traps and 40 lb braid if you are surfcasting for other than reef fish. I learned this from fishing other areas than Cuba it seems My government does not play well with Cuba a long time ago....sigh. Art
  17. It depends on where you are it ranges from a river we use jetdrive boats on because it is shallow up to 28ft Cruiser I have on the lower Potomac river. The areas are only 60 miles apart by road. It can also be run down to the ocean in 4 hours. The upper Potomac is rich in it's small mouth bass and channel catfish. Lower down below Great Falls you can pick up walleye in a very few selected areas as well as some trophy small mouth. You continue down river where it is still freshwater and will fish for large mouth , striper bass, shad, 4 different species of catfish including the 60lb + blue catfish and the fun to catch snake-heads. We then enter into the brackish to saltwater and then you can fish for 10 different species that are fun and great eating. To fish it effectively you actually need from a canoe to a 30ft bay boat. If you are getting back down here shoot me a P.M. if our schedules are good we can go for a blast or I can give you a few tips on the area. Art
  18. I think I found me a new best friend. I am a sucker for sweet types of breads. nice job. Art

  20. If you are lucky the warm front we have here will push up North far enough to give you some relief. Today is short sleeves and 68F and Sunday record breaking 72F. I hate Ice storms they are the one thing that really wreaks havoc down here. Good luck Y'all Art
  21. A car driving 60 mph is going a mile a minute. A car driving 75 mph is going 1 1/4 miles a minute . If you maintain 15 mph over the speed limit for 60 minutes straight you have arrived at your destination 15 minutes faster. This is equal to 4 average red light signals, one stop at Timmy Hortons or 1/4 of the time it takes for the police officer to write you a ticket. Slow down it can save you or more importantly some other innocent persons life. Art
  22. I returned it and edited the inflammatory portion but left the good information . Merry Christmas back to you my friend. Art
  23. That is some of the best looking smoked muskie I have seen in a while. Art
  24. Well the land you do it on has to owned by yourself or a willing neighbor. The process of cutting the field is something that is needed to be done the rabbits are just a byproduct of the job. I can remember the sheriff and a few local politicians being on the hunt from time to time. Mainly good memories from a time that has passed... Sometimes it makes me wish that life didn't get so complicated as the world gets older. Art
  25. Look on the tag and see if it lists the amp draw of the sump pump. take that number and multiply it by 120 volts then multiply it by 1.5 the final # is the watts needed to start and run the sump pump. I personally would not go the battery route because they need to always be charged and the amount of energy they store is finite. Most systems that run a battery sump pump find that they ignore them till they don't work. Take the same watts formula and buy a small generator then you can rotate it from the sump to the freezer or other appliance and keep more than one item running. The smaller units are quieter and use less gas than the bigger ones so the impact on the neighbors is minimum. Art
