Check his web site, I thought he was building homes out west...Calgary I believe. Anyway if you are a good builder/contractor and MH is exposing a lot of bad ones then you have nothing to worry about. As a matter of fact why not use him to exhibit yourselves...Look at us we build better homes...We use above code products and know how....If you build a superior home then you can charge accordingly for your product. Maybe builders should take a profit hit like the rest of the world and lower their profit margins a little so they can sell quality homes and not have to make the consumer pay thru the nose. After all this isn't China...typically most products coming from overseas is junk and won't last. What happened to making products that will last and providing a warranty/service that is second to none. Maybe we in North America should think twice about quality instead of the mighty dollar for a change. Maybe we should become leaders in the world economy instead of followers....just my two cents.

Hey great fish, isn't Pikin on the hardstuff awesome. Had a monster from Nip a few yrs back that wouldn't fit thru a 10" hole no matter what angle we tried. Good for you. Nice on the release too.

Great hut, I too have one but I find it's lack of portability on the ice a bit of a bummer. I usually bring a cordless drill with a 5/16 bit and pre drill the anchor holes and then the anchor screws go in real easy. Good luck, enjoy it and the main thing is it keeps you out of the wind right. As far as dropping a spike in with the timbits....ha ha one of them must of ate it thus the energy to beat on eachother and drive you nuts. Make a point to keep the spikes separate from the snacks...lol.

Hey Johnnyb if the lovely laker Jesse is anything like my wife get used to it bro. For me I'm just glad she's into it and getting bites cause it would make trips a lot duller and shorter and we'd starve to death if it were up to me to provide...lol. Its time well wasted.

I second the GO SEE BIG CLIFF idea...if he can't get you up and running no one can....lol. Just sounds like maybe fuel filter could be clogged or maybe moisture in the fuel. The belt might be worn out and prolly needs replacing after 5 yrs. You did well to have it go that long...GO SEE BIG CLIFF couldn't have said it better myself.

To make a long story short...stopped into BPS to pick up the Mr.Buddy heater on our way to the Bog. Out of stock...oh well guess we have to use the coleman cat...it suks. Decided to try out of Goreski's since we've never been over there in the past. After driving down to the water and seeing the access point and driving all the way back to the area most were parking, I wasn't looking forward to the haul. A gentleman walking up to his van offered us a ride down to the ice on his way to pick up his passengers waiting for him who were done for the morning bite. Thanks again whoever you were. My wife and I walked about a few hundred yards off shore, lots of snow on the ice hard walking and decided here was the spot. Set up the Eskimo by 2:30 pm in 6' and hunkered down from the wind with hopes of walleye and crappie in the near future. Perch were first, too small to even get the hook in their yaps but kept us busy while we waited for the witching hour. then a solid nibble and she reels in the first of the day. Small but what we were after...a 15" eye, to start the clock at 4:45 pm. I missed a bite and then hooked a decent fish but lost it right below the ice. I thinking a crappie but didn't see it. My better half hooks a good crappie and as the hook comes loose at the surface we both reached down to grab it and ended up with eachothers hand...lol. She did land a decent 13" crappie and he came home with the eye as a snack. The bite slowed down and the WGSF were the only ones interested in feeding. Packed up and began the long walk to the vehicle again. The ice was a solid 8-10" thick with 12" of snow on top. We fished with buckshots and swedish pimples tipped with minnows. A fun afternoon and evening to say the least.

Puslinch ice is ok should be approx 6-8" of ice. There were open areas in the fishing grounds not that long ago. If you get in touch with Tall Tales he will steer you in the right direction. http://www.talltales.on.ca/ I haven't been out there since last week and there were open spots from underground springs. Rumors aren't good enuff to go on so call and be safe. Guelph has closed the last few years, the cost of paying salaries and the revenue gained by being open....well not worth it.

Are there any local bait and tackle shops?

In a pond locally...if I tell you I'll have to kill you...lol. East of K-W. It's a well known spot to fish just not into sharing exactly where due to the pressure it would recieve...the area can't take a major hit, its too small to withstand a lot of pressure. I can tell you though in the last 5 or so years the average size has increased slightly...I do think it's due to the efforts of ice fishermen releasing way more than they're keepin. C & R works.

Hey nice work on the hard stuff. If people give you a hard time about yur wife/girlfriend kikin yur butt....first of all get used to it. Secondly you tell them that you were the guide and put her on the fish....

We were hoping and trying hard for a few more to make a decent meal but oh well they will just add to tonites dinner instead of being the main course.

Well we didn't freeze and the hut stayed together ok. Not enuff snow on the pond to pack around to prevent the wind from creeping up underneath the flaps tho. Would have been chilly without the heater too. Strong winds today and the Eskimo held up well.

My condolences sorry for your loss, your memories and the good times with family is what you'll need to get thru.

Just wanted to wet a line and try out our repaired/patched hut before heading any distance. Got to a local pond and set up fishin by 10:30 am. Tried jiggin with ice jigs and minnow combos for the first while then a jig and gulp waxie for a bit too. Picked up a few small bites then the odd decent one. My better half and I iced half a dozen dink perch with only 2 close to keeper size. Came home with these guys for an evening snack. Good thing I decided to try out our huge deepsea rod and winch for a reel or we would of had some trouble crankin em in....lol.

I have the 2-man Cube and Eskimo Quikflip 2 both are good and bad in their own way. When fishing on a known spot and I don't plan to move around too much the cube is fine. It's a pain in the butt to remain portable cause you have to screw anchors and tie straps to the ice so moving around is alot of work resetting up. It's light and easily carried and packs in the trunk of a car. The Eskimo has a sled is heavier and I prefer it when the vehicle taken can fit it. Its very portable and is not anchored to the ice. When the bite slows you just have one person walk pulling the rope and the other walks inside(I'm 6'4 so I walk on the inside and use my shoulder to lift the front end up off the ice.) Works great if you are only moving a few yards at a time. Both will keep you out of the wind and with a small heater you'll be comfortable in both. If I was to buy again it would prolly be the same two huts, only bigger. Hope this helps.
