Had problems the other day and today also, they didn't last long.

I know nothing about duck hunting, but that boat might have been too big of an investment for people that pursue the sport with a very limited season? Low sales might have killed it? Looks like it quite capable of doing both, a 115 should push it well.

Do they still make that model?

I changed mine every year, also in the fall, just viewed it as a cheap way to prevent problems. Changing it in the fall gives you all winter to get any problems you might find fixed before the spring rush.

Basically the same deal as it was here, simple and no guess work as to whether you have the right lure on.

Nice! Sucker minnows only caught walleye for me on Lake Erie, chubs or golden shiners were the way to go here. Do you fish them in a jig? Since the bite here was usually 17-22 feet I used a 3/8 fuzz e grub with the minnow on it.

Not knowing the history of those places, but places that depended on logging or commercial fishing in times gone by might have been mapped better? and more extensively? No idea if the maps the links mention would be any help, years ago when I started fishing Pointe Au Baril one of my first purchases was a navigation map, and I still used a lot of caution.

? With marine plywood you are probably not going to have a crack from vibration or trailering go all all the way through the wood and weaken it?

I bought a used Chevy Chevette years ago, I had it about 8 years and had to replace the timing belt twice. I replaced them myself and thought it was pretty easy compared to replacing a timing chain. You are right though most timing chains never need to be replaced.

You can spray a piece of foam with scent and stuff it in a tube, the scent will stay longer.

Glad you had a good time! Trolling for smallies is a good way to locate them and the areas they frequent on open deeper water. On Lake Erie I would troll a small deep diving crankbait and have a marker ready to throw with a hookup, then tube or dropshot that area.

I can't picture going smallie fishing without tubes, green pumpkin to imitate craws and white to imitate bait fish. Drop shot? What depth do you fish? I wouldn't get locked on to one depth range, rocky areas work here, especially if they have depth changes on them. A lot of different lures will catch them, the key is finding them, they also tend to stick to the same seasonal spots.
