https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2018-Rapala-Super-Shadow-Rap-16cm-77g-lure-for-large-predators-COLORS-/192449665143 Just for a look, 6 1/4 inches and 2 3/4 ounces? Limited info on them here, they seem to be a European market lure?

Troubleshooting bow mount trolling motor
OhioFisherman replied to leaf4's topic in General Discussion
leaf I have no idea, but in that video link I posted the guy explains an issue about voltage readings without a load on the circuit? I had a spade connector on a foot pedal melt down once, it was an obvious issue that I could repair myself, and since it happened on a practice day for a tournament a couple of hundred miles from home I needed to do it myself quickly or buy a new motor. -

Troubleshooting bow mount trolling motor

If it's any help, there are videos on youtube that cover some trouble shooting such as this one, Electric Trolling Motor Diagnose and Repair - YouTube Motorguide trolling motor parts parts for older models may be available there. -
Troubleshooting bow mount trolling motor

Well you are looking at a motor that is potentially 11 years old already? I had many times more hours on my electric motors than on my gas motor, when one died I didn't bother fixing them unless it was something simple that I could do myself. -

I watched that video earlier today, and this video of it from a different source shows some bass I would have been happy to catch! https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/hurricane-florence-dead-fish-interstate-40-north-carolina-flooding-video-a8550956.html Besides the human tragedy of it? Can you imagine 3,400,000 dead chickens and 5,500 dead hogs?

We went from the upper 80's to 60 in about 16 hours, no sign of the severe storms they were predicting here, but fall has arrived, I don't see any temps in the 15 day forecast higher than 74.

ACL tear/repair (NF but kinda F)
OhioFisherman replied to Acountdeleted's topic in General Discussion
Not only that, but a lot of those injuries have a habit of coming back and haunting you as you age. -
LOL Cap, it didn't take the gobies long to out number them?

ACL reconstruction - Mayo Clinic Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Reconstruction Surgery If that is any help jer? It's been 25 - 30 years since my daughter had hers done, they did it with a scope too I believe, very small scars. Like a year or two later they went back in because she had some swelling and issues ( an infection around a screw? ) but they took a screw out and cleaned it up and she has been OK since. -
I don't believe the pump will stop working when under water, but if your wiring to it is under water also it might, a bilge pump that stops working when submerged defeats the purpose?

jer, my oldest daughter had it done when she was still in high school, she is 45 now, she wasn't down long, but had to be careful. She still went to school but used crutches for a short time. -
Mike, I live about 25 miles south of Lake Erie, but I am still far enough north so that our rivers and streams are part of the flow to the great lakes, that changes about 15 - 20 miles south of me and they flow to the Ohio river. There is a decent sized stream that crosses the highway into town, I stopped one day years ago to see if it had a decent bait fish population, the first fish I noticed were carp in the 8 - 10 pound range. Not good here, but probably even more of a problem in northern waters with trout populations?

https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/video?playlistId=1.4095348 Actually the number they mention is 40,000,000, I thought 40,000 was a low ball figure. The goldfish in the scheme of things are small, a pike - ski - bass - walleye- salmon probably won't have much trouble eating a fairly good sized one. They don't belong there, but of more concern to me is the common carp or other invasive carp that grow to a size that no other game fish can eat them? There are probably billions of carp swimming around in the great lakes.

I saw a video the other day of people rescuing goldfish that were coming out of the sewers during some flooding, in the USA I believe, there was a pet store and a Walmart nearby. They are carp, tough fish, I am surprised there aren't more of them in the great lakes. I have seen them in Lake Erie since I was a little kid, never any small ones though, I think those get eaten, with their color it's hard for them to hide?

Just something to look at, my boat had pedestal seats, on mine where the seat met the post the connection was plastic. I was fishing with a friend one day, made a cast and sat back down for the retrieve, I got a hit and set the hook and the seat base broke off the bottom of the seat and sent me spilling onto the floor of the boat. I just missed hitting my head on the gunnel going down. Now my boat was 10 - 15 years old at the time, but I never thought of checking the seat bases for cracks or flaws, I replaced mine with metal bases, not sure it would have made a difference if there was damage to them, but again it didn't occur to me to check mine.

I saw that this morning, they have some good tips.

Agreed there jerpears, one of my son's friends is like 29 - 30 and had a heart attack this spring, and out of all his friends he seemed to be in the best physical condition, a regular at the health club working out, luckily he had a better outcome. Lost a couple of friends years ago, one to a brain aneurysm and one to a heart attack, and both seemed very healthy, and with them being truck drivers both had a DOT physical every two years, you just never know?
-
Sort of a major temperature change ( cold front ) they can throw things off, at least for me. Sounds like you covered the bases pretty well, not sure what else you could have done.
-
Yes, I was hoping for a better outcome, but as time went on, the chances seemed remote. Condolences to the family and friends, such a tragedy.
