  1. LOL Bob, Elliot lake is up there a ways. Even here late March most years and then the fishing is hit and miss. Water is too cold to get much action unless you get lucky and park right over them. Pond fishing gives a better chance the water warms quicker. Don`t think I ever put the boat in, in March. We also have had years when ice was still in launching areas and marinas early in April.
  2. Lew I don`t know for sure, I just take an inner and outer to the parts store, take the seal too, they can match them up there.
  3. LOL Talent? Art you should see my Frankenstein impression!
  4. LOL Canadian Cold front? Cold here today 27f and dropping warmer by the weekend. Whatever we get now won`t last, spring is next month instead of 4 months!
  5. Dang! American Idol on OFC! Nice job!

  7. Like charlesn cable steer for me, seen guys without have too many problems.
  8. I have most of mine in Plano boxes, some in a 5 gallon bucket with lid in the original bag or a zip lock freezer bag. I probably have more than most sane people, one of the people at the neighborhood flea market must buy closeouts. I get most of my Lizards and Worms from him for a buck a bag(zoom) if I get up there and he has them I will drop 40 or 50 bucks on them. Just fishing here take a couple of the plano boxes in a tackle bag, longer trips I will take the small bags and dump a few of them into a zip-lock freezer bag. I can add more salt, garlic or fish oil easily. I don`t like to have the litter from the small bags in the boat and have had days when the bass were tearing up the soft plastics and went thru two or 3 small bags. The Plano boxes are nice, but you don`t want the ones with the hinge that is connected as a folding piece of the lid. If it is too cold they get brittle and snap. Get the lids that separate and the snap type closers.
  9. 17 to 20 pound test stren for me, it works and isn`t too pricey.
  10. I bought one chrysler product new, a 73 dodge tradesman van, with in 6 months the clutch pedal was stuck to the floor, had to get my toe under it to pull it up. Took it to the corner gas station, LOL in those days they did repairs, the pivot arm that moved the linkage hadn`t been greased at the factory and was rusted and binding. An easy fix, but poor quality control. I don`t buy Chrysler products because of issues delivering and picking up freight at the plants. Worst of the big 3 in my opinion. We have had 3 Chevy Astro-GMC safari vans, I like the view from the drivers seat, dependable reliable, no major issues. My best friend has had Ford vans or pickups for the 30+ years I have known him, been on trips with him no issues. My former partner in tournies has had chevy pickups no problems either. I don`t buy new vehicles, they do. I have had lots of used ford cars, just had transmission issues with them around 125,00 miles, they were older models 70`s. I looked at an S-10 pickup before I bought my last van, took it for a test drive and just didn`t like the sight line from the drivers seat.
  11. 2 minnkotas and a motor guide bowmount all had metal shafts and never a bent one. First minn-kota wore out after about 12 years, traded a 40 at minn for a 52 motor cause my buddy wanted less power on his 14 footer to troll slower for crappie. Part of the deal with the bow mount is that you are up front, gives you a better field of view of what is in front of you in the water.
