  1. I don`t have a lot of pictures and really am not good at figuring out how to post them anyway. Caught a lot of fish on artificial baits, including some you wouldn`t expect to like carp and catfish. I don`t usually use live bait.
  2. Whatever bass lure I am using in Muskie waters, LOL with a good steel leader!
  3. A boat makes fishing a whole new experiance! As long as it floats and runs it`s a winner!
  4. I like them! They grow wild in the back yard!
  5. muddy water catfish pro? My wife has caught bigger cats in the pristine waters of Ontario than I have caught in the muddy waters here! LOL Peter, I tried the factory thing when I got out of high school, couldn`t handle being trapped inside all day. It did give me a chance to see all kinds of strange things, LOL. I had other job offers over the years, not much on telling people what to do and being disappointed with the results and didn`t want the responsibility of answering for other people actions. Wearing a suit to work seems a lot like a straight jacket to me. Retirement was forced on me by illness, I would still be doing something besides falling down a lot if I was able, LOL. A job was a place for me to go to work and earn a living, I let the geniuses show me they can run it properly. Almost 40 years of working, never had any problem getting a job or two if I wanted them. Dirt washes off, never afraid to get dirty. LOL
  6. Although I am no longer in it, the trucking industry changed from the time I started to the time I left. Most of the changes were strictly due to a cost cutting factor, some also due to advances in thinking. LOL older guys might remember getting behind a truck going up a hill? The darn things were seriously under powered, some of the tractor trailers still used gas engines. The highway system has improved greatly. Palletized freight has speeded up the movement of freight. Being a city driver was for the most part an 8 hour job when I started, overtime was mostly determined by how far away your local run took you from the terminal, obviously a guy that had to drive an hour and a half to his first stop got more. Deregulation of the trucking industry changed a lot of things, do more with less people. Combine runs force people to work overtime up to the legal limits, and turn your back if they go over. If someone complains about going over on a regular basis "he is a trouble maker" if someone complains about being forced to pull loads "over the legal limit" he is a trouble maker! If you get caught doing the above? "we never told you to do that"! LOL it was sort of interesting but I should have got a proper ejumakshun!
  7. Dang! hate it when the animal is smarter than you! guess that tells you how it`s going so far, didn`t expect it to be easy. The traitor is hiding out with the wife now! So much for man`s best friend! LOL
  8. Take a look at our system, more time is spent worrying about criminals rights than victims rights. Prisons turn out to be criminal college for a lot of them, ours are loaded with repeat offenders. The message should be a break? ya use it wisely, next time forget it!
  9. TCM? I got some channels I will trade! They should allow you to pick and choose the basic channels offered, there was a move here to make a law about it. I have like 60 channels on my basic plan, I might watch 15 of them, no choice just stuck paying for 45 channels I don`t have an interest it. I get flyers from satilite tv all the time, such a deal, the packages have more channels and more programming I wouldn`t(well maybe if it`s enough!) take money to watch. Like I need 3 home shopping channels? LOL How about a Bass Pro shop channel?LOL
  10. LOL he follows me around like a dog, if I sit down he is usually laying on or near my feet. If I am trying to do something he is right there. Sitting at the kitchen table he will jump up on a chair across from me and talk trying to get me to pay attention. When the other dogs go out on the leash he run to the patio door and whines because they are out and he isn`t, be starting the training session soon!
  11. Like Art says if it doesn`t feel comfortable you won`t pick it up and use it as often.
  12. At times thinning the herd becomes necessary.
  13. I have heard that Salmon don`t seem to have any trouble, don`t know about trout, all the ones I have caught have been fairly shallow, less than 20 feet. Bass don`t handle the pressure change welll though, the practice is to fizz them, insert a needle in their air bladder to release pressure from ones caught deep. My buddy told me about an article he read on deep northern pike caught like 50 feet deep, they were badly affected by it too. I usually work the top 25 feet, unless I get desparate. LOL
  14. Thanks guys, he has no problem with the regular collar around his neck, not a choker, and will follow me around the yard and doesn`t wander. My yard is big enough 200x1000 that we don`t need to hit the street. I don`t walk well enough to be out on the road anyway, grass is a lot softer to fall on! LOL We don`t take him in the street, it was shortly after we started walking the other Boston on the road that she got hit by a car, maybe she figured it was ok for her to be there? He grabs our other Bostons collar and leads her around. She is 19 pounds, this dude is large for a Boston guessing between 25 and 30 pounds. Not doing much else, tomorrow I will have to work on that. I do have to use a choker on the lab mix, he gets a chance and it`s exploring time, the kids took him for a walk one time to the center of town, next thing we know he thinks he belongs there. Every time he got loose he went there, got tired of people calling for us to come get him. Didn`t know that about road salt, I don`t use it on the gravel drive. I can`t walk the bigger dog, the wife or kids do, I have a 100 foot cable run for him if it`s nice out.
  15. My Boston Terrier pup will be 9 months old, a great dog but with one problem, leashes. First time I put one on him he laid on the floor with his head between his paws and wouldn`t move. The next time he was like a bucking bronco so I took it off before he hurt himself. He never had one on before we got him at 8 weeks old, my other dogs have no problems with them, they see the leash and come running, it means a walk. He will sit there and watch us put the leash on the other dogs, get near him and he runs to his pen and mopes. Little rascal got to big for my wife to carry to the vet for his checkups what is a good plan to fix the problem? If I put the leash in his pen he won`t go in it, tried the other dogs leashes and the same. Thought maybe he needed to get used to them or their smell?
  16. Got a first place and big fish at a 2 day bass tourney in New York, a 4th at Ceasars Creek in Ohio finished in the top 25 pretty often, too bad they don`t pay down that far! LOL I have also done pretty bad. It was a game, always fun! Big tournaments or small you try to learn something everytime out.
  17. http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl....09&CATID=61 http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl....27&CATID=61 http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl....10&CATID=61
  18. Some of the programs on the history channel are really interesting, Rudolph Diesel designed the diesel engine to run on vegetable oil, Henry Ford designed his engines to run on alcohol. Ease and quantity of fuel production killed that, it was easier and cheaper to pump oil from the ground. The cancer deal? No clue on that, humans tend to be over confident on their ability to find an answer. I have Multiple Sclerosis not as bad as cancer, but they are still guessing on that one, they don`t know the cause, theories, no cure, maybe treatment to slow it down, if it works without causing other problems, and the treatments certainly aren`t cheap. Nothing like having to pay 1200 to 1600 dollars a month for a maybe treatment, maybe it will slow it down, it won`t cure you! Not problems you can fix overnight, can`t fix anything if you don`t try!
  19. Oil didn`t come from from the cavemen cooking dinosaur bacon? There is is lot of oil there! The world can be flat, I don`t care! As long as wimmins aren`t!
  20. Kemper no heat, discussion. During the Middle ages people drank more alcohol in Europe than water, they had no concept of bacteria or viruses, but knew you didn`t get sick as often if you drank alcohol. No sanitary systems so the water was polluted. We had it here on Lake Erie last century, it has improved because people became aware of the problem, LOL the fish could have told them, what me swim in that toliet? It took years of awareness and an attempt to do something about it to bring Lake Erie back, the fishing there is the best it has been in my life time. Yes the earth is big, but man has thrown off the balance, forests gone, wetlands gone, industrial and residential pollution. Yes there is a natural cycle to the weather, but almost every creditable scientist will tell you man is the cause of this deal. The agent in the Matrix, man is like a virus. We have brains but need to use them more often!
  21. Not much experiance with that stuff but I bought some that is on a quill like a feather that is probably that long. The quill might make tying to the hook easier? Got mine at a local tackle shop, but if they had it others should, maybe Stamina or Netcraft or Barlows? A fly fishing shop? I can check my catalogs if there is an interest.
  22. Well if the united nations were really united they would be working harder on the problem, maybe they will be content to let us all go the way of the dinosaur as long as they can make a buck now? Too much influence by economics and not enough thought to survival, more than enough people on earth for some to be disposable. http://www.mapleridgewind.com/turbine.htm http://www.mapleridgewind.com/Events.htm built coal and gas fired power plants? atomics? for ? we can`t seem to clean up the mess we have now!
  23. Good move turning around, some days just aren`t worth the effort!
