I have ordered from Ali and Ebay, never tried Wish and really have no particular reason to. With Ali the stuff I ordered was usually dirt cheap, and with the free shipping a lot of them offer makes the price way better than most places stateside that have a minimum order to get free shipping. Quality? some of the things I ordered weren't bad, but you really can't expect to pay 4 bucks for 100 hooks and get Trokar or Gammi quality?

Tennessee Guy used to post them all the time, some huge pike, but like some us age has idercaught up with us? We never considered a pike good sized until it hit the 40 inch mark, but fishing pressure has had an effect too?

29 years at this address and I can't ever recall a trick or treater here, last night we had snow and 50+ wind gusts, the snow didn't stay just some flakes to let us know what's ahead. Bad place for trick or treating here, no street lights and homes and driveways are a good distance apart, and a 55 mph speed limit and no sidewalks makes safety a serious issue.

The transom and decking on my 1987 smokercraft needed replacement, I did the front deck but got too sick to bother with the rest so I sold it. Mine looked like an easy fix for the transom, I would be leery of doing it any other way than original, a lot of stress back there, in the water and trailering. Don't know enough about Coosa board to comment, but 500+ a sheet seems pricey to me.

I had the 1987 edition, back then they called it a 17 footer, but it was 16' 8", only 73 inches wide. Had mine until 2009, but it didn't see hardly any use after 2003. No hull or rivet issue, with a 35 hp for power it didn't go fast enough to get beat up. All my decking and transom needed to be replaced, started on it but got too sick to finish.

Just my opinion, if you have never seen a shad die off at a lake you fish regularly? there are probably none in it. We don't have threadfin shad this far north in Ohio, gizzard shad only, and all the lakes they are in have partial die offs. Your laws up there have changed over the years, any baitfish a bait store sold may be in your waters? The only way to be sure about the type of bait fish would be to fish for them or net them, but watch your laws! Every shad I have ever caught here was accidentally snagged.

It seems like it took them longer to hit the 10# mark last year?

They are catching Steelhead around the river mouths here on Lake Erie, I would imagine they are farther along that far north?

No disrespect intended, but even some of our favorite bass lakes for tournaments could have widely varying results from tourney to tourney and year to year. If your going to travel for a trip you would like better results?

I don't know if I could or would judge a lake on a 3 day trip.

John, no real answers on that from me, but the commercial fishermen always claimed they weren't taking enough Walleye to hurt the population either? With the years of experience they have netting perch and today's electronics it seems logical that they could decimate the population? I can recall Emerald Shiners being hard to find during the heat of the summer here at times, but it seems to me that is becoming more common? Akri, knew that, as I recall reading in their native range one of their food sources was zebra mussels, so food supply mainly and protection? The lack of a swim bladder doesn't prevent them from coming off the bottom? just makes them more of a target for predators? I rarely kept any fish to eat never saw a gobie in any of the Steelhead I kept though, although 1 fish a year is a poor sampling?

There was sort of a panic here in Ohio when they were found in Lake Erie years ago, now it seems that most seem to credit them with larger smallmouth bass, and if smallmouth can eat them largemouth, walleye and pike can too? I have seen a number of underwater videos of them and they never seem to stray very far from the bottom, and smallies spend a lot of time there searching for food? Ohio's record smallie from Lake Erie is like 9 1/2 pounds caught in 1993, I don't know how well the gobies were established then, but that fish didn't seem to have a problem finding food? and no one has caught a bigger one since? even with an established extra food source? All in all it's better to be very careful about what non native species enter your waters?

One of the truck docks I worked on used to sweat terribly when there was sudden changes in temperature in the spring and fall, they used to spread oil dry, which like most cat litters have seen was basically dried round clay, it was a mess, as soon as it got wet it just made getting traction even worse. Picture a 10,000 lb forklift with a 2000 - 6000 pound pallet on the forks just sitting on a level concrete surface spinning it wheels? I told the boss to use sand, it provides some grit for traction and is gritty even when wet, unlike oil dry. Pool filter sand, which is courser than most sand you see or sand gravel?

Findley Lake is all private land, there is a campground near the southwest end of the lake that also rented trailers and small cabins on wheels, yurts? The lake itself is maintained by New York with an agreement to allow public fishing, but the public ramp was only open Monday - Friday, they put a chain across it on weekend to allow homeowners on the lake some privacy? The only place you could launch on weekends was at the campground, but only if you were staying there. They stocked Findley, not positive about bass, but it has muskie, pike, and walleye, bass might not need stocking there, it has largemouth and smallies. New York has some different laws, some of their marinas are private property, saw a guy get his catch disqualified on a video because he didn't know.
