https://www.cleveland19.com/2020/06/10/sanduskys-historic-state-theatre-demolished-during-wicked-storm/ I slept thru it? Sandusky is 50 or so miles west of me, but this storm seemed to do most of it's damage along the lakefront. -
Well it's been 30 years or more since I have been up to PAB, i know the laws on Perch for bait have changed, they used to be legal up to the first dam = barrier. It was common to see people using them, we could also set our own minnow trap and use nets to catch them. Caught a lot of fish 99.9 % pike on perch, I do recall catching a 6-8 pound bowfin on one there. My buddy always went with our family up there, he caught like 5 pike in a row slow rolling a perch, LOL it was slowing rolling in the water on his retrieve, didn't matter to the pike though, none were very big 4=6 pounds maybe. Had tough bite trips up there, live bait saved trips at least from being blanked, other trips it wasn't needed much. A blast from the past, same time period for me, I may have used them before him, I still have some around here somewhere. Had very good days throwing them at the pointe.

Brian, I caught a Steelhead with a small perch in it's belly om Erie, the other 20+ fish it had eaten were Emerald Shiners and Shad, not saying it can't happen, just better choices? I have used small bluegill = sunfish for bait here, almost any type of minnow will get hit a lot quicker though. I saw a 20ish inch bass at PAB one time that a muskie had grabbed while the guy was bringing it in, torn up from the gills back, a very big ski?

Those fish with sharp spines on their fins are a challenge for other fish to eat and the shape of a bluegill over that of a perch makes it more of a problem. I have found fish struggling with a perch or bluegill stuck in their throats by those spiny fins.

Seems odd to me, they seem almost as tough as carp to me.

Probably not much help for the north side of Erie. https://www.cleveland.com/outdoors/2020/06/tournament-walleye-anglers-have-a-busy-weekend-ahead-in-lorain-darcy-egans-fishing-report.html?fbclid=IwAR1eVmwbd0ksLC6DnsMTbh4Fr4JT64p64kis5Oo5ZexCi2Jq48PpS7PPOi0 The results of the tourney. https://masterswalleyecircuit.com/

Looking to replace Garage doors ALL DONE!
OhioFisherman replied to ketchenany's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
My original garage door was made of some type of composite board, 16x7. At least 3 coats of paint on it and it still absorbed water, my garage door opener kept breaking gears, Craftsman and they were plastic, but plastic wasn't the problem, that door seemed to double in weight during rainy periods. Went to a steel door 15? or so years ago and no problems, my 30 year old garage door opener hasn't had a problem since the door change. My barn has an 18x8 steel door with a Genie garage door opener, not sure where that Craftsman brand is heading with the turmoil at Sears, but I would probably avoid it now. My Genie door opener is about 18 years old? No issues opening a bigger door. -
"Hardbody Topwater Bassin'!" Webinar

I believe Mustad bought Stringease some years back, Kevin Van Damm was a big promoter of them. -
I am not seeing a space to comment or reply to posts on fishing news.

https://maxrules.com/fixmercwiringcodes.html Can't tell perfectly by your picture, but I would call that Tan? I personally would have some concerns seeing that disconnected if it is the one. TAN Temperature Switch to Warning Horn and/or Temperature Sender to Temperature Gauge -
Going thru those reeds seems a lot different than going thru the slop, a lot of that stuff just gets caught on the shaft above the motor.

Spotted today at Dollarama: Shimano SRS6000 Rod for $4
OhioFisherman replied to Lord Letto's topic in General Discussion
Most of your big name rod brands make budget models too, although 4 bucks is dirt cheap, I wouldn't expect it to be much besides a fishing rod. -
Dang Fish, 10 hours on Erie and not a hit?

https://www.cleveland19.com/2020/05/24/white-house-goal-testing-nursing-homes-unmet/ " Nursing homes residents, who are typically older and often have underlying medical conditions, have been particularly hard hit by the virus. More than 36,000 residents and staff have died from outbreaks at the nation's nursing homes and long-term care facilities, according to an AP tally. . That is more than a third of all deaths in the U.S. that have been attributed to the virus. Nursing home operators have said the lack of testing kits and other resources have left them nearly powerless to stop the virus from entering their facilities because they haven't been able to identity silent spreaders not showing symptoms. " It has been a big issue here, and after spending 20 days in one last summer I can understand why.

Any Legend 16 owners here? Pulling trigger
OhioFisherman replied to Raycaster's topic in General Discussion
My Smokercraft was 16' 8" x 73 inches wide and had a 35 hp merc on it, don't expect any type of speed with a 25 hp. On the big lakes? Erie, Ontario? be very aware of changing weather conditions. -
Some dude my ex wife works with tried to hide the fact that his girlfriend tested positive and was sick, so now the employer had to have everyone who had contact with him at work quarantined from the work place for two weeks, hopefully they will quarantine at home? A holiday weekend and almost a week of 85+ degree days on the way? Ya that will happen. I don't know if I would believe this is ending anytime soon, just doesn't seem to be a lot of deep thinkers out there.
