  1. Now I'm sure someone said that when I put their first worm on their hook but now their hooked on fishing and will put their own worm on. It's just another fish I want crossed off my list of having caught. The fact that many also list them as a good eating fish also helps. They are listed as coarse fish and haven't a season or a limit (right now anyways) make them a good inbetween season species to fish for. I've heard of good size specimens as well. Anyone want to hook up for fishing for ling? Stan
  2. Hey All, I'd like to catch a ling but have no idea on where to start. I'd like some pointers from anyone who has had success while targeting them. I've heard this time of the year should be best. Thanks, Stan
  3. WTG Mark, looks like he had a blast! Congrats to Cameron on his first Steelie.
  4. :clapping: WTG Scott, truly an act of pure goodness! And definitely Wayne on the receiving end has a very similar character as well as a bunch of others on this board. Thus the reason this is the main board I check out when I do get on to see what's happening around the fishing community.
  5. As many of the OFNCer's have mentioned above, the best wishes and thoughts to your brother on his speedy recovery!
  6. Welcome aboard!
  7. Intriguing pic indeed! Thanks for sharing.
  8. HAPPY Be-lated birthday Wayne, sorry I wasn't on the net yesterday to say it earlier. I hope you had a great day! Stan
  9. Happy B-Day Dawg, tight lines and happy times!! Stan
  10. Great Job Wayne, I'm with Roy on this one, I think that mount will be there shortly after the draw.
  11. Congrats on your new PB Greg!
  12. Very sad indeed, my condolences to the families as well and hope the 3rd will be found soon.
  13. hmm, let me see.... last year's ice fishing: 6 days (morning only) summer fishing: 3 days (morning and late evening only, avg time: 3hrs) Private club fishing: 3 days (avg time 4 hrs) fall fishing: 3 days (night fishing: avg time: 4 hrs) That was p@thetic of a year, oh I guess I'll be making some others feel a little better now. Gee, I do need to get out a bit more for some fishing. I can still recall my high school summers and university summer years spending 4-5 days a week out fishing.
  14. Too all of those celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year: Kung Hei Fat Choi Wishing you all good health, good fortune, prosperity, and may you have tight fishing lines on every outing this year!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: A link for some horoscopes: http://chinese.astrology.com/year/default.aspx Stan
  15. Wow, congrats Wayne. Let me know if you need any help testing those things out
  16. Count me in too, I'm in my mid-thirty's but I have been disappointed with the loud music and loud commercials too. Disappointing as I don't turn WFN on much now because of it. I'd rather spend my time here on the board with some more civilized folk!
  17. Congrats to the new Imperial Angler :worthy: :worthy:
  18. Great to see a report again Tom, almost thought you might have forgotten that you're suppose to do some fishing while maintaining this awesome community board. Now, I'd better do my part soon and get on some fish too. BTW do you still need the help you mentioned about in the fall? If so, let me know, as I may be able to get something tonight. Stan
  19. MB et al, I've never been up that way for fishing and would like to give it a go as well, space permitting. With this much of a notice, I'll be able to work something into the schedule. Please let me know if it's possible. Stan
  20. Maureen, I haven't received your PM yet, please resend if you did. Stan
  21. Maureen and Wayne, you folks be careful up your way then! Let's not hear about any accidents from you.
  22. Nauti, I wish you good luck on your kicking the butt habit. Think about all the fresh air and more money you can enjoy once you do. As for the vid. Initially I was thinking fox, but there was something about it that was telling me otherwise, I've spotted many fox while cycling in my youth, and that one was not moving like the ones I've seen before, so I'll have to guess it was a coyote. There were many good points mentioned above, but the sulking trot was the one I think pin-pointed my thoughts. Either way, good on you for getting the vid.
  23. I agree Lew, I almost wiped out beside the garage this morning carrying things to put in to the vehicle. Threw a little alaskan melter on the spots and it was okay for the rest of the family to head out to school this morning. Stan
  24. Welcome to OFC family
  25. Welcome to the board Ryan, great first post, good thing I ate something before reading it. Looks like you had a blast on the East coast.
