Mike. Are you over charging from the engine. Say about 14 1 /2 volts or better. 2 batteries in four year seems to be 2 too many.

Electrical question regarding downriggers?
Tybo replied to Pigeontroller's topic in General Discussion
PT, just use the same gauge wire that already on the down rigger. This down rigger being sold in Canada would be CSA approved. The last time I check. They were Engineers that do the test over there. -
Electrical question regarding downriggers?

When using breakers make sure you don't use the auto-resettable ones. A short occur by high amperage. which creates heat. the breaker will keep resetting it's self until it burns some thing up. -
Got to love it when the English language destroys a perfectly good name. Rapala Hyundai Porsche Loeb Jesus And even my own last name, Tyborski. Or to some people around here, Whats his name. These are not English names. So to pronounce them properly you have to say them in there native tongue. Ra pal a Hy und ai Por scha Lobe Hey sus

If I didn't fish open water most of the year I would own a tiller. Since I fish when I can get out, I prefer the console. A little comfort can go a long way, when fishing in December.

Use to have a white Sheppard that would dive off the dock and retrieve stones off bottom. Knew it was the same rock, because I would mark it.

Hey Glen, You should take your hat off more often. I didn't even notice your STRIPED MULLET!!

Also remember to check the load on your bearings a few times a year. Keeping up on this with also help prevent you seal from wear, and a major failure.

Europeans have been practicing C&R longer the use. The Zanders are a different strain. Also most of Europe have longer mild season them use. Most species in are country do very little or no growth through the cold months. I've seen tons of old photos of 55" pike from here in Ontario.

The only thing that I can add is to find out if the electrical system is fused or breaker. If they are breaker system you don't want the auto reset ones The reason why is that most trip do to a short. They will cool and reset them selfs creating the short again and again till the system burns it's self out. Usually causing a fire.

Most seals fail do to over filling. Most lubricants expand from heat. I see this most with bearing buddies, Where the person will fill the hub to it's max(spring totally compressed). The grease has no were to go when it expands pushing the inner seal out. The next trailer I get,(if they have the option) are going to be oil filled. This is a far better system. No hassles just take a look to see if the oil is up to the line. I have the cup and cone type right now. I really like this system. I don't have to repack my bearing every year. All I have to do is jack the trailer up put on the grease gun and start pumping till clean grease come out. Then remove a little bit of grease for expansion. Pop the rubber cap back in and ready to go.

Ya, that's pretty neat. My sister emailed me that last week. Ah, the memories. Thanks Joey

Thats a good one about the dozer. What would be interesting is when the OPP was there and they broke though whom would have got the blame? Great report Guy. Looks like every one had fun.

The GVWR is a government rating on the vehicle not the manufactures. For every pound you put in or on the tow vehicle you lose in tow capacity. 100lb tongue weight. the wife 120lbs. the two kids 140lbs and what ever else you stuff in there. looks to me that your over. HAVE A NICE DAY.

Yes I am a mechanic. In fact I'm a master mechanic. which is the highest license that you can get in the trade. Also have countless SAFETY certificates. I always teach SAFETY is job one. But with out communication there is no SAFETY. So if you DON'T want to listen to me thats your fault,an hopefully the people around you won't have to suffer for it.. It's nice that you did this and that and got away with it. Still doesn't make it SAFE or RIGHT. I agree with GCD 100%. THe fact is that most people don't use commen sence.

I get it now. My truck weighs 7200lbs, The GVWR is 9200lbs. the truck is capable of hauling 2700lbs. the max tow weight is 16700lbs. The max braking distance at 60mph is 190'. Now I have 2100lbs of top soil in the back(using top soil as a reference because it wont move) also towing a 5000lbs trailer with a 11000lb back hoe on it. So now what you are telling me. That with out trailer brakes, a exhaust brake and Jake brake. That the guy in the civic that just powered brake in front of at 60mph and 200' away will be safe and cozie. Because I'll get my truck stop. I don't think so.

For you speed freaks to heck with nascar ( Totally NF )

MY truck would still spank it 0-60. -
You can tow with ever you want. If you don't give a crap about peoples safety. 14HP lawn tractor will tow a 40' boat. If I had to tow with a car, I defiantly would up grade the car and trailer. I would install trailer brakes,Tranny and oil coolers.Heavier coils and coil over shocks in the back. Also likely up grade to ceramic brakes. In my opinion if you want to tow any thing. It should done in a Truck.

WOOHOOOOOO, Its about time. No more babblings from Gerritt Tybo

Lew, before you make your minds up on the civic. Take a look at Saturn. They are one of the best commuter car out there, and very affordable with great gas mileage.

A rebuild to me is you have the old core, and every thing else is brand new. Reconditioned. A strip down is you take apart the engine and replace what is needed.
