this is the time of year i dread most of the rivers are locked up and the ice conditions are sketchy or the seasons closed.all work and no fish makes me a dull boy.not sure what to do with myself,reel maintenance tackle orginization dreaming of the next trip anybody else jonsing for the next fish fix.

this is my pb caught it in moosebunks backyard,not as big as the one pictured but she got my heart pumpin.

is this the time of the yr when the caps lock key gets pegged lol

start off hardcore do as many sets as u can then gradually decrease your work till your back to not working out usually takes a few weeks then u can let that stuff collect dust.

original sorels kaufman canada unfortunatly they dont make em anymore but they are by far the warmest ive owned.

left,havent had a drop of booze in 4yrs.

the original SORELS when they were made by kaufman canada before they sold the company are hands down the best and warmest boots ive ever owned.i have very poor circulation and my feet were always cold in other boots these are rated for 100 below and i believe it.they are hard to find now but if u can get your hands on them u wont be dissapointed.i will be very sad when my wear out,so far so good ive had them for about 8 yrs and there still in excellent shape.

take it to wal-mart they have the best return policy hands down.im all for wal-mart even if its american owned i hate ctc and am very reluctant to give them cash unless i have to they treat u like a criminal and will even give u a hard time with a reciept.bought an auger from can tire the blde came off the second time i used it less than a week old with reciept wouldnt even give me cap screws so i could fix it myself.bought a shimano convergence from ctc broke the tip and return it at wal-mart no reciept no questions asked on straight exchange

those are some brutes nice work.

8lb mono works well for my reels.not sure what its called but its like black rope i use this on the thermal tip up and attach 10lb floro lead to it.much easier to hand line than mono.

hypocrites what about the cars they drive that spew toxins into the air or all the energy used to make transport and run the computer they used to write this ignorant post.there are for to many serious environmental issuse to be addressed and catch and release isnt one of them.

typical fishing "issues" as me and bass kicker call em.on a trip to cochrane we lost a boat seat.got a flat tire on the car.bent the hell out of the camper tongue some 100k from town on a sunday evening it was practicaly dragging.drove back to town doing 30k.was lucky enough to find a machine shop were a guy reinforced and welded the tongue.when he welded the tongue it fried the wiring to rat poo.but at this point we ran it anyway.fixed the wiring a day or two later got chewed by skeeters.at the end of the trip coming home the trailer tongue broke in a new place bad this time sparking as we drove down the road.had to call basskickers ol man to come get us as we had to much gear for the car.he came in the middle of the night from courtice to martin river outside northbay he wasnt all that happy lol.we left the camper on the side of the highway for good.all in all it was an awsome trip with tons of scenery and amazing fishing.so good in fact we try to go every year last year was the best fishing and only minor "issues".

when i bought my crestliner some 10yrs ago it had a few leaky rivets instead of pining the rivets i drilled them out coated both sides of the hole with j.b weld used two washer a lock washer and a cap screw (allen key head) this method worked great 10yrs later and still no leaks from the repaired rivets.i do however have leaks from other rivets but now i live with it i only get about a litre of water in the boat after a days fishin.but before u fix anything remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease hound the crap out of tracker eventually the will get sick of u and probally fix the rivets.

cohibas are nice,but im cheap i smoke cheap nothin beats a good ol pom pom,or a tin of henri wintermans cafe creme.the most recent fishing smoke is captain black sweets they are sweet and smooth but not sure if they qualify as a cigar.

loose eggs i let air dry then seal them in quality ziplocks put enoughy egss to tie about 2 dozen bags then freeze.skiens i do two ways.make a saturated solution of water and borax let the skien soak for 20min scrape then let dry abit in a strainer.second method same as the first saturated solution of water and salt place skiens in solution max 5min usually 3-4min just enough to toghen them up.becareful with the salt it can and will turn your roe into dry pellets.these eggs will last for atleast a year if sealed and frozen.many double digit trout days on this cure.
