  1. Hands down the Cumara. Incredible tip sensitivity. Awesome rod for the Lower Niagara winter steel.
  2. Clam only produces so many a season. They are sent to dealers per thier orders. When they are gone they are gone. You would think they would keep producing a little longer. Joey deal with Blake @ fishing world if they have one he'll fix you up.
  3. Sounds like you have a cracked coil there weatherman.Been there done that. An easy repair.
  4. if you are in Whitby short drive to 2001 Audio/video. Also you would be surprised...at how many are at your local pawn shop this time of year. Wouldn't give future scrap a look as they have the shittiest cosumer warantees in the business.
  5. Buckets can be had at most restaurants or wine making shops...free for the asking. Get 2 ,cut one off about 3"inches below the last ring and slip it into the first bucket and rivet it there, you will love the extra height also adds extra storage you will find your Vex and minnow bucket will slide right in. Get one of the BPS blue wrap around pouches, but first get a strip of 1" thick stick on velcro and put it around the outside of the bucket and co-inside on the backside of the pouch as the pouch elastic strap stretches and it will fall off the bucket if you don't. Then get one of the frabill padded lids or use the bucket lid and make a pad for it..definately more comfortable and convienient.
  6. I sympathize with you Joey...been there went through that ,almost the same thing with a trailer. Why didn't you renew your fishing licences online? Its been in place for a few years now. Did mine dec 1st and got it last week, also had a printout reciept just in case crappy post decides to be like crappy tire..
  7. Theres crappie there but, there is such a small amount of areas that hold them noone is going to give up thier honey area on a public forum.Like Stoty said stick to the eyes. If its Crappie you want then hit the bog. If you get a guide then maybe he will take you crappie fishing ...maybe.
  8. Find yourself a donation of juicey steelie skein and tie it into quarter size balls and start from there. I save some skein from the previous year and use it as a start till I get my brown. Good luck.
  9. You can book your parking online. Thats the only way I go . Never a hassle. Just google parking at buffalo airport and pick one. Also search for parking at buffalo airport promo codes .you might save another $5
  10. My mistake Limey angler.Accept my appology.I didn't see that you were from Dryden. With all the OOS targeting down here lately..yes I said targeting. It was an easy one to make.
  11. Very few have leasing rights to the water where the docks are.Usually its only big city marinas and they pay big bucks for it along with security. You were 100% in the right. You did not stand on or touch his docks in any way. I would make a point of returning with a few other friends in tow.
  12. Looks like you had a great day.Love the turtle sunning.
  13. Roy does look up to everybody...literally.
  14. Sounds like a good day on the lower Grand with some quality fish to boot.Good that the weather held for yahs. Thinking maybe your guide would have broke out the scale on some of those seeing as it takes a 17lber to be entered into the derby or if it was a PB i'd like to know the weight... imho
  15. Hard to believe that in this day and age that people are still pulling this crap. Didn't one of our own try to pull that not too long ago...now if only I could remember his name...hmmm
  16. A heavy duty engine stand will have 4 fully adjustable arms on it...and ..get this...the transom will have four 3/4" holes already drilled through it .He may however have to make up some sort of spacers to offset the angle of the transom. As for the bow there is very little weight it will only be on full weight till it is fully turned then blocked up. Robs way is probably the way to go if engine still on but with minimal weight it should work and be so much easier doing the work from above rather than under.
  17. I have on 12 or 14 rods for the past 3 years in various tests and have never broken off above the fleuro leader. I also use it all winter in the lower Niagara and ice fishing. Maybe you got some bad crap.could happen ...but shouldn't..I'd check your guides .
  18. I saw this done on a boat up in North bay one opener. They had an automotive engine stand bolted to the transom and a sling through the eye of the bow attached to a hook on the truss of the garage they slowly rotated the boat upside down and supported it with saw horses. worked like a charm.Be sure to reinforce the trusses. P.S if an engine stand will support a 440 big block it will definately take the weight of this boat till its blocked up.
  19. Nice cats there Mrs Fishmaster and company. Nice to see the river heating up so early. Hopefully lead to a great year.
  20. Kickingfrog, it is too late for you to take Dukoral as it has to be taken in doses weeks before you go but...Call your doctor and see if he will give you CIPROFLOXACIN HCL 1000mg. This stuff is amazing. If you think you have the starting of the "Dominican trots" then pop one of these babies and all will be well. continue one a day for the remainder of your visit. Hope all goes well...... as for fishing there is an outfit down by the yellow huts on the beach or ask some of the guys at your resort that deal with the water toys. They usually know someone who might take you off shore cheap. If you are surf fishing or casting around a dock or pier grab some shrimp from the buffet or ask at the kitchen ,great bait. Be sure to wash you reel off with hot water after fishing as the salt water is not friendly to fresh water gear. After fishing ,drink heavily there is just you and mama ..no kids
  21. Starboard can be bought at West Marine but it is pricey....but here is a tip that will save you $$$. Just go to your local Dollar store or any store that sells kitchen gadgets and buy a white cutting board. Same stuff last forever . Just trim it off to the size you want and Bobs your uncle.
  22. I thought I saw a sweet deal on one on spoonpullers last week.
  23. Most of these auctions its "johnny on the spot" you are lucky to get a sweet deal.Rule of thumb is never bid more than 50% of what you think its worth beacause when you add taxes ...wheres the deal? Best time to hit them is if the weather is going to suck. Down in niagara most auctioneers hate me cause I come prepared with prices when I'm looking for something ...oh and I also always announce that on top of pst $ gst there is a "buyers premium" usually about another 10% or so, so keep that in mind. So far Iv'e only been asked to leave 1 auction..lol
  24. Remember, you are only getting the home reno tax refund credit if you are getting a return. If you owe I think they deduct dollar for dollar. There was a story on CFTO about a month ago about this. Lots of peeved people out there when they found out.
