  1. Dont screw around.Get it fixed as soon as you can.The longer you have to wait the less chance of complete recovery. I torn ACL,MCL,Miniscus(sp) 12 years back on a sunday afternoon skiing. next morn i met with surgeon for assessment, as luck would have it,I had surgery that afternoon. To this day I have had no reccurung effects.I did ZERO physio. All i did was strengthening using bungy cords..another handymans secret weapon ;)and never wore a brace all they do is give you a false sence of security. 6 months to the day I was playing ball and back skiing that winter. Good luck!! P.S. dont let them shoot you up with corizone either ,it does more harm than good.

  3. Hey Court ,was up there a few years ago .Found lots of shoals lots of deep drops a couple miles down from the provincial park. We nailed some decent pike and eyes all around the shoals and although I didn't target them, there were tons of hooks on the bottom in 60 to 90 ft. most likely lakers and whities. This is one lake I have to get back to as it is loaded with fish...oops shhh don't tell anyone..I'll just black out the background of my previous statement and noone will have a clue where i'm talking about... Good luck would love to hear how you make out.
  4. Ch..No worries on bringing back fish.I have done it the past 10yrs from the outer banks and Chesapeake bay and I also bring back Steelhead and Walleye from New york State. Its no different from going to Tops for groceries. Make sure its prefrozen and packed in ice. There is a difference when it comes to fruit..we can't bring it back and we can't bring it over from Canada. You should be able to pick up some Pompano rigs at most tackle shops, great for fishing the surf for Pompano,Blues,Croakers,Sea Trout(all edible) and anything else that decides to scoop it up. Good luck good fishing. P.S those Docs are killer.
  5. ...and they would find that they are NOT permitted back into Canada via any border as thier passports are swiped and it will get flagged. The same applies on the U.S side for us Canucks. Hence virtually eliminating any further problems concerning alcohol in the boat next trip.
  6. Awesome brookies Dan. The scenery looks all to familiar, its almost like I was there with you this summer on "your lake"..or the week or so after...lol. Pound for pound brookies are the best fighting fish yet,and most satisfying to catch. P.S You and bunkster look like father/son...wow.
  7. Way to go Mike ,Candidate for father of the year! Love the play by play, and in th end the smile says it all.Big congrats on his first steelie,i'm sur it wont be his last...Good on yah!
  8. Winds whipping down the lower at about 40 to 50k as of 1 1/2 hr ago it was still a nice green and fishable. Talked to a few at the ramp they had a few browns and steelies...if this keeps up its a no go saturday though.
  9. If you are not going over for work whatsoever then have a printout of your hotel confirmation or something for the conference registration..it'll make it easier if they ask you more questions which they like to do sometimes. When I cross to fish they love to ask the same question twice looking for a variation...mostly all I get is "hope they're biting..good luck"
  10. Coming from one who crosses at least 2X a week I would stay away from Queenston..they are by far the slowest due to the fact they dont have as many booths as the other 2 and they are a major truck entry point, and they take thier sweet old time. Now that the tourist season has wrapped up the rainbow is not that busy and you breeze through in about 10min or less...provided you have your passport and detailed info from your HR dept. The Peace bridge in Fort Erie is your best and easiest if you are headed for P.A. count on 10min or less in the early morn..less throughout the day but prob about 20 to 30 from 5 to 7 as workers are headed home..Good luck P.S ..I saw the same movie about having to sing the national anthem...and yes it ONLY happens in movies..lolol
  11. Some familiar background in those pics there Guido,It was nice to see you guys out there in the bay last week of august.Definately lots of trophy brookies caught that week although the weather and temp were way to nice and it kept the numbers down. Would love to bring the fly or float setup next time and hook into one of those brutes. Although we didn't see any "damaged" brookies we did see quite a few hookup injuries on the northerns which leads me to believe maybe the fishing pressure is greater on them. Although we did see a drop this year in numbers of fish caught, the quality was way up. We never caught one under 3lbs and broke the 6lb mark on a few occassions. All reaseased healthy.I have never fished barbless before Nipigon but after only dropping one fish all week I am converted. I now almost exclusively pinch the barb as we all should. Keep up the good work. P.S. if you are still wondering who we are,we were the guys camping on the point across from the launch and we chatted you guys up at the mouth of the river by the lodge...cheers
  12. ind the channel that goes through the lake for the bigger boats and fish the breaks. Always holding something..maybe even a ski !!
  13. Justin can and will lead..when it is time.
  14. Like i said, home hardware..it has been 12 yrs ,no rust on screws or bolts.
  15. Usually the red toggle switch by the choke on the engine block by the carbs is for winter fogging, and yes it should be in the up position. Take you old plug out and cross reference the # at CTC for all brand options of plugs. They should be pregapped from factory.A good thing to buy is a Merc manual by seloc.
  16. MuskyMatt I have done this exact replacement.I know the wood isn't cheap It should be 7 strand and should be around $125 a sheet or so,ouch! You have to find a water proof 2part resin or its useless.I had some from an old furniture maker. After coating the pieces and laying them together clamp all around edges and then put in a some of stainless screws(both sides)After it has thouroughly dried you want to waterproof seal it. You don't want to seal it with paint. You want it to still be able to breath somewhat. Ther is a product out there for this purpose but I couldn't find it in Canada so what I used was a product for pressure treat. Its called end cut. I applied this over the entire piece 3 times.I was worried the chemical in the end cut would react with the aluminum but it hasn't I did this 12yrs ago and its still the same green colour and looks the same as the day it was installed. When you install it use only Stainless screws. If you have a home hardware near they are by far the cheapest in Ontario for stainless screws. Also if your old transom wood is the same size as mine you will be able to make it a few inches wider so it covers pretty well the whole transom and maybe an inch longer unless it sits on an aluminum shelf...Good luck ,take some pics let us know how it turns out.
  17. Check out Sandbanks, its probably booked already but its an awesome park and you might get to do a little fishing. Pinery is also good but the Park Yogies are power hungry..but for good reason they have endured alot over the years with partiers. If you are a young family you'll like it.But stay away from the Dunes campground,or you won't like it. Another really good park is Killbear on Georgian bay. Ive probablly been to 40 or so parks and these by far were our favs.
  18. Good point GoneFishin,It would be safe to say that most are guilty of keeping fishing after thier limit, But of course the "notme" gnome in all of us will defend us. What I don't get is..Having "the groups" catch in the white bucket is the same as having the groups catch in a livewell, which is OK....double/double..Hmmmm . Another thing is did the CO watch him catch and count all his fish?,I think not. We might have an interpretation issue here. This is a matter that is worth a court date. You might be surprised at the result. Curious to hear how it turns out. Bye the Bye..IMO .why is it when a thread like this is posted a guy is made to feel like the sacraficial lamb?
  19. Mrs Brown was in Toronto again in March for a limited engagement.brendan Carroll and his troup should be back in the near future..Seeing it live is just awesome!!
  20. Best method to avoid to horrid brokerage fees is CAN-AM MAILBOXES 2315 WHIRLPOOL RD,NIAGARA FALLS ,N.Y. 14305,Just send the package C/O Bob Seager.Cost $6.30. Even if you declare it coming back you only pay the duty NOT the brokerage...still save a bundle.
  21. There is a battery place in hamilton that has them for about $20 i believe..not sure of the name.
  22. Don't waste your money boys. All he does is talk about his film career. Would;nt be worth it even if it was free as most showa are with a P.A card.
  23. Can't go wrong there Jeff. Thats the only spinners I use. All supremes 8030mg,8035mg.Best reel I have used to date. Can't beat it all year round on the lower. Drag is super smooth and no probs with line falling off.Looking forward to your "field test".
  24. Nice report on the beach guys. Nice mix of fish there. How did you rig the finesse,PM it if you don't want it to go viral. . Pool is choked with ice right now, lots coming down the river, lots lingering around Queenston..but that could change with the wind.
