  1. I don't see how you would be chessy. Same I would assume for folks that have permanent docks. My huts are covered in reflecting tape, there is really not much more you can do.
  2. So true... I comes with age, I have an oldie goldie Jiffy, but still does the job. Try half throttle until she starts to bite, then slowly give it to full.
  3. We got it somewhat good in Clarington, but the wife still loaded the van and drove the girls to school. Took me an extra 20mins to get into downtown TO. Total media hype. Kind of annoying really, you can't help but anticipate something "big" to happen. I like true snow days. Although, I think the biggest disapointment is for the kids who's schools are open. Probably more snow in the Motley Crue dressing room.
  4. Niether.. I support the local shops or buy online. However, CTC does carry more terminal tackle, so in a real bind, it would be CTC.
  5. When I ran my guide biz I used to set guys up at a resort on Rice Lake. Then I would guide them for wallye and bass on Rice and then a day or two out of Port Hope for Salmon/Trout. Maybe they can get set up on Rice at a place and I can forward you some guides info for Rice and Lake O if you like. Just an option.
  6. Great report. Glad everyone "landed" their jumps and everyone is ok. Scary for sure. It almost happened to me on Scugog one year except I was in my truck and towing the 8x6 hut behind me on the trailer. I saw it last minute and swerved putting me into full blown 360's on the glare ice with drifts. Spooky looking out your drivers side window and seeing your hut on the trailer beside you. Luckily, all turned out ok. PLEASE mark your hut holes!
  7. Why wouldn't I tell you? Sure I would I just wouldn't. Seriously, I never said anything to them, just started opening up the hut. I wasn't until they got mad I intended to stay and fish when the comments starting flying. These guys saw us the night before, that is why they were there. I could careless if they stayed around and fished, I'd just be upset if I was tanglinig with there spinner and float set ups while in my hut.
  8. Mr Misfish, we'll get that set up one year! Met and fished with a few folks from OFC. Learnt alot from the few times I have fished with Lew if I ever decide to target those toothy fish on purpose. Had a fun weekend with Diplip, Lew, Cory and Reefhawg. Highlight was meeting Corkys sister. Went perching on the ice with a few guys too, they made fun of me and my swiss cheesing. FishnSled and I have had some fun days. And of course the BOQ GTG and one Nip trip I sort of remember. Would love to hook up with Solo on some state side tribs and just sit and watch. DanC for those awesome specks. Ron, for his knowledge and success on Rice which is one of my favourite lakes. And I'd love to film a show with Mercer, I think we could have a fun time playing off each other. And Sir fish alot Steve, he reminds me of myself a few years ago on Simcoe, would love to get with ya and see how the lake is fished now. Of course there is more, heck I'd fish with anyone, if they bring the Gweeches.
  9. IF you don't have it already.... Get HBO.
  10. We put a hut out on Scugog as a home base. Early season we get them pretty good there then as the fish spread we move to try and stay on'em. One Sunday we had a very successful evening fish at the hut. So, I left work early on Mon and flew up to the hut for the evening fish. I was shocked to see 3 guys literally fishing right beside the hut. They must of angled their auger to get the holes so close. Their other lines were in our outside holes. When they saw me B-line to the hut with my truck they starting packing up to leave. I totally ignored them and reliezed quickly they were "noobies" as I saw one guys setup with a float and a spinner. They spoke in a language I didn't recognize. But I heard one guy mumble, screw him. Thats when I snapped. Gave them a verbal beating they probablly didn't understand. Just as I felt things were going to go to blows(most guys have this instinct), I could see 2 of my buddies trucks coming on the ice and making their way over. I just pointed to the trucks and told them my reinforcements have arrived. I didn't even know my buds were coming up, lucky really. They left. During the following week the hut was broken into, they took everything in it and smashed the windows. I guess they got pissed that we moved it and didn't drill any holes. There are idiots everywhere. Kinda wish Solo was with me, lol
  11. Actual email I just sent to my Mom. Hey Mom, you know that fishing weekend Phil and I do every May? Well guess what, if falls on Mothers day this year. Therefore, we would love for you to join us. What a great way to celebrate - you, us, and 10 other rough and tumble guys. I have already let the guys know a woman may be coming. So they have agreed to only fart and burp outside, use fully clothed ladies on our deck of cards, to keep a swear jar handy and we will do all the dishes after you cook. Even Dane has agree to not walk around in his tighty whities for you. So let me know Mom. Sounds like a blast eh! Of course, if you can't make it we'll stay home with you, because we love you so much and totally understand sometimes family members must make sacrifices on special days. Lovingly your understanding son, Paul (Paul should never of gave me his email password)
  12. welcome to the site. One of the best angling resources around!
  13. Ok, phew... well...just saw it. Thanks for posting. This whole thread hits home more then you know. Paul, stay strong my friend. You've beaten something, well, many can't and not for their lack of trying. As I mourn the loss of my Father over the holidays, this video reminds me how he picked me up, brushed me off and sent me off again to succeed with his guidance and support. Thanks again.
  14. I can't see the video at work, but I am looking forward to it when I get home. I recently lost the man I relied on to carry me, even more then I knew.
  15. I think it is the skate sharpeners fault. He is putting too much of an edge on the outside of the blade. When Kessel plays off wing he can't cut to the net to unleash his bomb.
  16. Not sure, but I think maybe one or two members of Korn are in the first shot.
  17. I do recognize them, but can't figure out the name. I think they are an Alaskan band however, as the guy in the middle looks part husky.
  18. No idea who they are, but the guy on the left looks like a well used spinnerbait.
  19. Weird thread. Hey, there's a bunny with a pancake on its head.
  20. That's funny. Coraline's a hit with her, had to hunt down "lulaloopsie (sp?)" dolls with the button eyes. To be honest, like Averie, I find'em kinda creepy too.
  21. Just came across this deal on a glass multi species boat. Pretty solid deal, especially with the dollar and you could prolly knock a $1000 off.. https://www.walleyecentral.com/classified/new/adviewer.jsp?adv=12910 Yes, it's a tracker. I want a ranger.
  22. Correct Smally, signifies a "Line of Duty" death. Just left the pre-funeral ceremony, unfortunately I could not stay for the service. I have to say, it was truly an amazing display of respect from the brotherhood for Sgt. Russell's service and dedication to the TPS and the community. May he RIP.
  23. Hey Erik, it's been alittle "tougher" then yrs past there. Been out a couple times this winter. I will throw you a PM next time we go and you can hop in with us. Good stable boat. Have an eye on your PMs as you know it's just getting ready to heat up there.
  24. Love this set up, car mat, DVD, heater, chair and strawberries.... I am going to steal this, my 4 yr old Cassidy would be in heaven(and quiet). DVD would have to be "Coraline" though.
  25. To be honest, I am not a fan of chain resturants ie. Kelseys, East Side etc. But I love Montanas wings. We have had issues there a couple times. However, the Manager was right there and offered discounts for the inconvenience. That, as well as the wings, keeps me coming back.
