  1. The plot has been lost. Apples are not oranges.
  2. If I remember correctly from the cartoons I used to watch on Saturday mornings it is quite easy … as long as you don't land on a cactus… or have an anvil fall on you.
  3. Rules to live by: Keep the windows up… and don't feed (acknowledge) the animals.
  4. Hmmmmm, sounds like someone didn't chip in for fuel?
  5. So are you saying there is more pressure when you're up at Bernie's? A 120kph in a boat eh. Ye haw!
  6. Good job.
  7. It looks like they are staging fish.
  8. Same reason I do maybe. Trying to learn from someone else's tribulations.
  9. Ya summer trips like that can be tough. Extra growth, lower water and higher weeds. Maybe put that in the spring time trip list pile. Still, it's hard to beat fresh air and some fish.
  10. I was thinking the same thing. Showing up the first day with a fly rod, fillet knife and some oil would likely be frowned apon however.
  11. Big, slow, dark jitter bug.
  12. Lots to think about. Good to start now and narrow your search a little before the winter boat show. Things that most of us work through: In no particular order (and subject to additions). Budget Type of fishing you plan to do and the type and size of water Number of people that you plan to have in the boat most of the time Size of tow vehicle (if applicable) New or used Project boat or ready to get wet And yes, the always heated debate issues (Some of which are partially dependent on the above considerations): Tiller, side console or full windshield Welded or riveted Fibreglass or Aluminum
  13. Thanks guys. He's 4 and half and it's interesting to see how he's progressed this year in just a few trips in the boat. Not quite ready to start casting, but he is becoming more independent.
  14. http://www2.macleans.ca/2011/08/22/canadian-national-defense-to-build-stealth-snowmobile/ Canada’s Department of National Defence posted a public tender in Ottawa for the development of a “stealth snowmobile for covert military operations in Canada’s Arctic,” the Toronto Star reports. The federal government has put aside $550,000 to build a prototype of the hybrid-electric snowmobile that would give Canadian soldiers the ability to traverse frozen landscapes in complete silence. The government document says gas-powered engines are too loud for missions that may require covertness, and the snowmobile prototype must be built with a special “silent mode.” The document does not include details regarding any covert missions that require discrete snow vehicles.
  15. Well the plan was to try Couchinching today in the hopes that some spots might produce some fish that would keep the adults happy while also holding some panfish that would keep Ryan interested. Small issue luanching. The Orillia triathlon was on so the area was much busier then normal but the launh itself was fine and we were quickly on our way. First spot produced a nice fish to start. crankbait bass And as hoped, lots of fish for Ryan. We didn't take too many pan fish photos. The rest of the bass we did find were small but ounce we had them hooked Ryan was on the reel. Ryan is getting better handling fish but they sometimes still end up on the bottom of the boat before they get back in the water. And with a predictable conclusion on the ride home.
  16. Very nice. That princecraft looks real nice to. What a trip.
  17. Thinking Couch tomorrow for me, Ryan and my brother.

      Blankity blank triathlon.

  18. Ya, that would have a fairly high pucker factor.
  19. I have the base model diawas as well. No issues, but I don't use them for muskys or salmon.
  20. Anybody have a nine year old 9 months shy of a birthday?
  21. Thanks for taking the time Lew.
  22. Time flies eh. It wasn't too much of a hardship for me. My wife and I didn't have kids yet. We played cards and read by candle light. Went to bed early and had the next day off.
  23. I thought it was because they had a cloaca.
