  8. Out this AM on the West Side of Simcoe. Wasn't sure what I would find for Ice So the Perch gear was in the truck. Checked as I traveled and all areas were about 5" clear black Ice. When I went out everthing was froze tight On the way back after some snow there was water and slush around some cracks. I sure hope we do not get much snow If we do there will be a lot of Slush!! The Meegs and the Williams put fish on the Ice. These 2 came home for the table. One of Each See Ya on the Hard Stuff Rick
  9. Did the drive from Gilford to IBP and there is no open water that I could see from shore. All the water that was on top is froze. Looks like it started to snow before the water froze and there are small patches of crusty snow but mostly bare ice! Rick

  13. SD 9" of ice at Gilford yesterday. Light snow cover. If we get some rain it will take the snow away. But a little rain won't kill 9" of Ice!! Rick
  14. That's a litle Frosty!! Rick
  15. Yes Things are looking good for 'Oro to Georgina' In most areas there is enough Ice to withstand some wind!! Not the 70 Km stuff from last Sun but some. Rick

  17. Oggie The kids musta had "Fun" The 9"-11" are good eating size. Mike I had the Hut and some Heat Too old for the Bucket thing in -18'C LOL Rick
  18. Out yesterday AM at Gilford -18'C when I left Home and -16'C when I got back It was cold all day. The ice was moaning and growing My camera did not like the cold either so I have a Pic of the first hole I cut and thats it! About 7" of good clear Ice There were not many Pic worthy Fiish anyway I fished 4 spots and all holes I drilled were about the same ice. LOTS of Fish, Would of been a great day for my Grandson, You could hardly get the Jig to the bottom without having a fish on!! but I had a hard time finding any over 10" and most in the 7-8" area. I did get enough decent size ones for a meal The travel was very good a little broke up at the shore but once you get on smooth running a bit of drifted snow but not much, With the past warm temps and now the cold all the broken ice from the air boats is pretty well smoothed out The Slab Grabber and the Forage minnow did most of the catching But it was one of those days that just about anything worked. Terry Goy, and Ice Cabins have huts out See Ya on the 'Hard Stuff' Rick
  19. Good on Ya Some big smiles there!! Rick
  20. Hey Brian Its time for some real fishing!! I have had enough of the Perch for now!!
  21. The typical Simcoe Perch areas Pefferlaw,Port Bolster,Virginia Beach and Gilford are good to go! Rick
  22. I think I got it LOL
  23. Since Gilford is not quite ready! I decided to make another trip East to Port Bolster. It was -15'C when I arrived at Casey's, Clear skies and zero wind The access to the Lake was good a little rough but no slush or water. The area that was broken/busted up ice has been smoothed out with the warm temps and rain. I drilled holes in 3 spots and all were 6-7" The water today was not very clear and you could only see down about 8' So I ended up catching a lot of dinks but there were plenty of quality fish mixed in. The Pan Slammer on a drop shot, the Slab Grabber, and the Buckshot Forage Minnow put the bigger fish on the Ice. I am trying to figure out how to load some pics. I see in PB my pics are 4000w X 3000H What size should I make them to upload? Until then!! Have Fun See Ya on the Hard Stuff Rick
