  1. Nice job Steve! those are some quality fish you got there.
  2. +1 They shoulda dumped phaneuf and striped him of the 'C' a while ago though.
  3. Nice job! He musta felt even worse after, knowing you were catching all those largies lol.
  4. I almost forgot about this awesome van...this is what that guy looking for a truck should get.
  5. Finally got the Lowrance installed. Now I just have to find time to test it out!

  6. I think it depends on how 'tech savy' you are as to which option will work best for you. If your worried about not getting reception from cell towers I'd get a separate gps so you don't have to worry. i've had google maps fail when I was about 4 hrs away and didn't have a clue where I was going. It's also taken me to the the wrong location a couple times. That being said most of the newer phones have some sort of gps built in that you can use and for the most part they work fairly well. In terms of the cell phone, If your looking for something thats easy to learn/use I'd go with the iPhone. Most people can pick it up, learn to use it fairly quickly, and it will do everything you want it to and more. The other big one these days is the android phones samsung, htc, lg, etc. I have one of these and for me its great, but it's a little bit harder to navigate around and change things if your not used to it. So your best bet is to go to a cell phone store and try out the phones on display to figure out which one is best for you. Keep in mind that some of the sales reps work on commission so get what you think is going to work the best for you. Hope this helps.
  7. Pike bay The car wash the tracks the ol hole bass alley the rockers the pads...
  8. I think I read yesterday that this may not be the best for boat covers and it can change the colour of the cover. Someone said it changes the colour to white. Haven't tried it myself but just so you know.
  9. Wow...It always amazes me how stupid some people really are. Fortunately there are people like those guys to catch them on video and share with the public.
  10. Sinker could be right about it sagging but keep us posted when you find out a price.
  11. Hey Lew any idea if they were wearing US or Canadian pfd's? I bought my boat in the US and it came with a bunch of lifejackets; some pretty nice ones too. I got stopped a couple months back with a friend, both of us wearing them, and they examined the jackets and told me that they were illegal; because they were US coast guard safety approved, and in Canada they have to be Canada Coast guard safety approved. Thankfully the guy I was dealing with was descent about it, and basically gave me a warning after drilling me on every piece of safety gear possible. I didn't really research it after that as I had canadian approved ones, but have you ever heard of this?
  12. Yikes! I have my boat uncovered outside right now..I emptied it out but my seats are still pretty new so I'm puttin the cover on her tonight. Where are you from mike?
  13. Hmmm....That is a good deal. I might have to make a trip to costco. My batteries seem to be dying on me pretty quick these days. Do you know how to tell if you have a bad battery?
  14. I had to go to a couple different places to get one made. main reason is the other ones didn't have the blank I needed in stock. I think I paid $5 for it.
  15. Yet another reason why we all keep coming back here. Good to hear.
  16. I've got an 09 Sierra SLT crew cab. Its the 5.3L V8. I love it, I've never had any issues with it, and its great for towing. Depending on where you are i'd recommend getting 4x4. I never had it until this truck and last winter I was very happy to have it. Mine has the auto 4x4 option which is good as its there when you need it and saves on gas. I get around 650km a tank. What Dara said is good advice too, Shop for what you want in options and let price decide. Take them all for a test drive and see which seat fits you
  17. Wow. Great report moosebunk! and some beautiful lookin gar too. I didn't even know they got that big!
  18. Experiment with different spinnerbaits. We caught a bunch of pike on a variety of colours while we were up there. For bass we had luck with crank baits and the occasional pike would hit them too. Also try jerk baits if your into that. I'm +1 for a guide out there. The first day we were out we caught a few fish but the following day with the guide we caught a lot and he wasn't that expensive either. Good Luck!
  19. So any idea what to do if there is no ground at the fuse box?
  20. I didn't have an open fuse so I tried taping into one and grounding to a piece of metal but it wasn't an actual ground. I didn't see a ground around the area. I think all I need to use is the black and red wire so should I be grounding the black one? That's what I tried, and I tried taping into 2 different wires with the red (one at a time) but I couldn't get the unit to power up. Any ideas?
  21. Also Lowrance instructions show the wires going to a 12v battery?
  22. Thanks guys I probably would have hooked it to the 12v. I just realized the supplied wire is too short to get to the battery so I have to teach myself some fuse panel basics:s
  23. So I'm installing the new gps I got and I'm just wondering which battery do I hook the power to. I've got a 24v trolling motor so 2 battery's for that plus 1 more. Which one should I use? Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys
  24. I wondered the same thing. I think you only get 1 year warranty with them and if it was last summer you bought it your around the end of your warranty. so why not take the new one?
