  1. Wouldn't want to be even seen catching a carp, depending on the waterbody, wouldn't live release it either. As for the heavyweight muskies...they have already spawned, IN THEIR PRIME, for many years. There isn't that much harm taking out a 'senior citizen' sub-par spawner with only1 -2 seasons left before becoming turtle food, add to that it being a record, personal or otherwise, and add to that its legal...
  2. Sad to hear. Do we still have Superdave? Ironic with all those jumps and bonecrushing injuries it was Hep C from the lousy you know whats that got him.
  3. Love is in the air, everywhere I look around Love is in the air, every sight and every sound Thats the song I think about when I am driving in heavy snow
  4. I bet those are dam good tasting fish. I'd fish in a t-shirt too..but with the cold north winds here in Toronto, my nipples would get too hard
  5. JF, your post makes you appear to be a liberal voter...a very polite one albeit. I agree with you somewhat that the pay and the slagging politicians get probably means most qualified people are smart enough to stay away. BUT, there are definitely differences between parties in terms of the quality of people...and I won't go more into it than that (my shot at being polite) Wayne: sorry to hear about that....I guess taking shots at land owners is the brainless vote getter, I am sure the money they take from you, which costs them the one vote they lose with you, they more than make up for when they hand out your money to many more bottom feeders. They pick up all of those voters (way more than the one vote they lost with you). Its how they got elected.
  6. I've fished taimen waters...got skunked but plan on going back to take a second shot at them within the next 2 years.
  7. I think before posting here on this thread, folks should start off with which party they voted for LOL If you ordered dollar store weiners...don't complain about not having roast beef when the weiners are served to you and don't think that tough questions and meetings will change a weiner into roast beef. If you don't like wiener #1 chances are weiner #2 will not be much different Yours truly, Conservative party member
  8. Very nice boat, How did Santa get that thru your chimney?
  9. You can still have the christmas party in the New Year: Armenian Christmas is January 6, 2008 problem solved
  10. For me it was a happy ending just to see the RCMP walk into the stadium with the Grey Cup and to be able to leave without tazering anyone to death.
  11. get a painter with good plaster skills...they patch and paint as they go and it all looks new at the end...our drywall looked like the buildings in Beirut Lebanon with skuffs, marks and chips from tonka trucks and other toys. (if you stood back the line of holes and marks looked like we were attacked by a three foot tall machine gunner LOL)
  12. Where's all the leaf fans gone since the Sens shellacking a few days ago? They'll be back, its a long season and the playoffs are the only thing that really counts. Ask the sens how important regular season performance is (you get the Presidents aka 'I don't know what its called' Cup)...Leafs make the playoffs and its a whole new world.
  13. keep it away from newfies that might see the motor and wheels underneath and get some ideas
  14. Well put neighbor. I'd just include those getting citizenship in Canada or US because of our parents forsight in choosing Canada or USA as a place to raise their family, (gets me in the loop LOL)
  15. The Tony Soprano trunk organizer, available at K-Mart for $29.99
  16. I think its 2 years for the life insurance policy to be in force before they will pay out on a suicide, which really works out well because by the time you finish the courses and tests for a firearms licence and then wait for a decent sale at BPS...that takes between 1-2 years as well (thats for a long gun) for the convenience of a hand gun...longer wait more paperwork.
  17. Thanks for your good wishes Corey... When children are being refused healthcare treatment, then I think we should look at how resources are spent...don't ask me...ask the parents of autistic children if they think the governments priorites are correct when they fund healthcare for basically lifestyle choices adults make vs children trying to cope with illnesses they have through no fault or decision of theirs and having treatment refused. Canada...the land of hand outs and a never ending line up of proud recipients
  18. Actually PF, its FLOGGING a dead horse. I wondered where the phrase beating a dead horse originated from...I should have known as I still have a Sex Pistols album in the basement Beating a dead horse From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search "Flogging a dead horse" redirects here. For the Sex Pistols album, see Flogging a Dead Horse. Look up beat a dead horse in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.Beating a dead horse is an idiom which means a particular request or line of conversation is already foreclosed, mooted, or otherwise resolved, and any attempt to continue it is futile. In British English, the phrase is usually rendered as flogging a dead horse. The first recorded use of the expression with its modern meaning is by British politician and orator John Bright, referring to the Reform Bill of 1867, which called for more democratic representation in Parliament, and which Parliament was singularly apathetic about. Trying to rouse Parliament from its apathy on the issue, he said in a speech, would be like trying to flog a dead horse to make it pull a load. The Oxford English Dictionary cites the Globe, 1872, as the earliest verifiable use of flogging a dead horse , For..twenty minutes..the Premier..might be said to have rehearsed that..lively operation known as flogging a dead horse. [1] [edit] Earlier meaning There are claims that the phrase originates in 17th century slang, where a "dead horse" was work that was paid for in advance, e.g. "His land 'twas sold to pay his debts; All went that way, for a dead horse, as one would say."[2]. Unfortunately, the Smythe quotation is a red herring. He was simply referring to what was already known as the "dead horse month", or the month of no pay, and how difficult it was to get work out of the men during the dead horse month.[citation needed] This attribution confuses "flogging a dead horse" with an entirely different phrase - "to work (for) the dead horse". This phrase was slang for "work charged before it is executed". This use of 'dead horse' to refer to pay that was issued before the work was done was simply an allusion to using one's money to buy a useless thing (metaphorically, " a dead horse"). Most men paid in advance apparently either wasted the money on drink or other such vices or used it to pay debts. Historically, it was common practice to pay a ship's crewmen in advance for their first month's work, which they would usually have spent prior to even boarding the ship on which they were to work. For the first month on board, therefore, they felt as though they were working for nothing, and so they were not terribly motivated. After approximately one month, ships out of the British Isles reached the Horse Latitudes. The problem here is that there is no mention by Smythe of the Horse Latitudes or any explanation of why he supposedly used the phrase "flogging a dead horse". 19. Heard on the news, its only in one town in Nova Scotia and its only a 50.00 fine...so go ahead and light up, fine is the equivalent of what? 6 packs of smokes? Glad I quit about 5 years ago, love feeling better and love the money saved too. As for health care...my 2 cents: OHIP shouldn't cover anything smoking related...its expensive with very faint hope, just delays the inevitable, if you can afford to p*ss away seven bucks a day for cigs...pay for your own chemo, or cyal8er. I see the IV hooked up smokers on University Ave getting their free cancer treatment and it really offends me to hear of kids not getting the coverage they need to grow up healthy while the so called 'adults' puff away.
  20. Happy Birthday Lew Hope you have many more. I knew it was coming up with deer season opening.
  21. I guess spending a couple bucks at a newstand wasn't a viable option and everyone else should read a shredded magazine... I think Macleans sells back issues And Congrats
  22. Useless law. If a 'parent' is smoking in a car with their kids in it....second hand smoke, as serious as it is, is probably the least of those kids future problems, given the garbage parents they have raising them. Those kids probably live in a house filled with second hand smoke, passing a law that, if followed and enforced, spares them a few minutes a day is just a drop in the bucket.
  23. You left out the part where you are 16 and have a ton of money from a lifetime of hard work.
  24. Whats the difference between a bear # 1 thatt attacks a human without bear repellant and a bear #2 that attacks a human who carries bear repellant? The shiit from the bear #2 smells like bear repellant.
  25. On the bright side you walked in, got what you wanted quickly and were out the door. Almost anything you buy these days you will be able to find someone else's uncle selling it for less, the question is what is your time worth (or especially your time on the water). If its the WRONG part, then is a s s whooping time
