  1. Ain't it nice when people are generous with other people's money and inventory. TH franchises are expensive to own and operate. I would support termination if this was a clear policy, and after a warning for the first incident. Capitalism works, dishonesty doesn't. I'm sure there are many more coffee joints nearby for that employee to work at. And F unions. LOL PLUS : Timmys supports our local soccer club, and I doubt the TH share price on the TSE will drop as a result of a timbit. I will buy extra to make up for any lost business, sorry Cliff.
  2. Looks like they are trying to solve a problem by looking at everything but the solution. www.nhl.com and TSN are reporing this, press conference at 3pm
  3. You can still go to Detroit. Greektown has amazing food and lots of bars in the Windsor/Detroit area. Deep dish pizza in detroit rivals anywhere in North America.
  4. fillet, corn meal, butter, pan fry, squeeze lemon...next question? ooops, never mind
  5. How can the SPCA know if a cat is stressed out? Do they have a therapist that conducts an interview? Or do you just check for overt symptoms, like the cat is chain smoking and is more irritable? Other thing is how can SPCA tell how long a cat has been in the trap? impossible without unbiased and credible witnesses, or would they just ask the cat?
  6. Many years ago, a dear friend was troubled by a neighborhood pit bull. In addition to the barking there was the running charge at the fence as icing on the cake, so he would hope the fence would hold up each time the dog charged. He found a cheap steak with some rat poison from his local Canadian Tire, all under $10.00, gently tossed over the fence at dusk was a cost effective solution. He tried discussing a solution with the dogowner but this resulted in only invitations related to intercourse. A 'one bite' steak size was used, if I recall correctly, to ensure complete digestion. Vomitting was the last he heard from that dog. I gave him a stern look to make sure my disappointment and disapproval were obvious. I would talk to the owner...see if that solved it, and then speak with the town by-law department, once government bureacracies are notified of a problem, I am confidant rapid action and solutions will result.
  7. Someone hears the F word and internet rants are posted and letters get sent...LOL
  8. Its just as impressive or not impressive ie the same as motoring up on top of a school of hungry fish and dropping a worm on a hook in the middle of the pack...or wading into a 4 foot wide stream in April with steelhead stacked side by side and dropping in a wooly bugger.
  9. Theres no bad seats in Detroit, smaller type of venue versus ACC. I saw Guy Lafleur play there when he was with the Nordiques. Fish on the Windsor side, bring a 'fillet' knife if you are on the Detroit side LOL
  10. I always follow the HTA whenever a police vehicle is in view or there is a potential hiding spot on the road for radar or laser, its a matter of being polite to the officer on duty. And, for #17, I thought you can speed and drink as well so long as there was no other traffic.
  11. So did we ever figure out who that was? I can't believe it was 5 years ago.
  12. If the internet poll is part of your decision, it can't be that important, toss a coin and move on. Heads you go tails you stay. This thread can be officially closed now LOL
  13. I think the local MNR office might give you the info as well (York Region MNR did so a few years ago and they still might be doing it this year)
  14. If we come in under budget, do we get to pocket the cash? MLSE style The Harold Ballard in me picked up Chelios for Def for just 500,000, I've heard he's still playing.
  15. Conditions change daily, best bet is to stop by Troutfitters in Fergus the day of your trip, they'll have current conditions, whats hatching, best flies etc all posted. I alwys buy a few of whats hot that day from troutfitters, its like bait LOL If you're lucky Ken Collins will be in to give you advice.
  16. I come here for the hockey.
  17. I think that a playoff pool is needed to solve this thread. LOL Mcabe is the only Leaf where on some nights he looks like a top tier player and on the next night he scores on his net or something like that. As for Mcabe and the rookie...nobody knows what was said or done on the ice and the rookies don't get their first game in the NHL by being polite gentle angels. I don't think its fair to judge a player by his worst mistake (scoring on his net, for example), anymore than its fair to judge Toskala by the bouncing 200 footer he let. As to whether he is overpaid or not...offer and acceptance, 20 20 hindsight is not a part of any sports contract. He likely won't be traded based on his recent reviews and no interest being shown at the trade deadline, so lets see how he does next year. (I need a new signature)
  18. Crowd Control 101 They can evict 14,000 or the guy from out of town. The goal is to keep the peace, not have a trial, hear everything, get it right and make a 'fair' decision, although they try to do that its not 100%, and from the sounds of things, it even sounds like they got it right. (and watching a team thats eliminated...whats with that, Refund? maybe they could plead that case to the Leafs, not Ottawa) Spend the time fishing
  19. I stay away from parts of Toronto as well...certainly wouldn't pick parts of TO for a 'vacation' either... and cheap prices = lots of tourists
  20. I've been to Cancun/Cozumel about 20 years ago, as a student, before the rampant corruption and violence. The scenery/water/scuba/fishing is great (like many other tropical places), but I wouldn't go there today, its not that the police are violent or corrupt, its just too many Canadian tourists 'fall off balconies', 'run into traffic', 'fall down stairs' or get charged with offences and they never do get around to having a little something called a trial, or they get knifed to death (and then other Canadians get charged with that murder). I'm sure the prices still make it an affordable alternative for students if you're willing to take some risk in exchange for savings.
  21. I knew they were done after the trade deadline. Sens are probably still worried about how they can avoid getting eliminated by the Leafs in the playoffs. LOL
  22. It's been probably two years since I tied some flies, but these nice pics have got me thinking about my vice again. As for the patterns, to quote Pete Bowman from a talk many years ago, when they are 'on' you can put cigarette butts on hooks and haul em in.
  23. Civility is over rated...its almost like emotional panhandling...I don't have kindness at home and so I seek it from strangers...Dennis Miller's going soft. There should be a new rule about Rant's : no plagiarizing LOL
  24. Obviously a very well disguised rant...
