  1. I've heard of that before Brian, wonder if you can rent them anywhere.
  2. My bud just down the road from me has a gorgeous waterfront home with about an acre of lush green lawns and lately he's getting invaded by a huge flock of Canada Geese nearly every night. They have a gardener who's spent the last 3 days cleaning up the filth and every morning the mess is back again. They come up his boat ramp or just fly over the retaining wall. They've tried everything to scare them away including dogs, noise and even running at them but they just keep coming back for more. He had the same issue a few years back and killed a couple of the birds with a shotgun and just left the carcasses on the ground and that seemed to scare then away but now he's got some nieighbors not too far away and doesn't want to use a gun again. Anyone know of a sure fire way to keeps these birds off his property ??
  3. Best of luck Brian, we'll all be pulling for you bud.
  4. Congratulations Rick, outstanding news !!
  5. The exact reason I stopped travelling back country roads before daylight.
  6. Your family trips always make for a fantastic read Simon and you pictures are great, but I never know who has the most fun, you, Jack or Roloff
  7. We had Ole Marv cremated too Matt and his ashes put in a nice cedar box with his name engraved on it. He's in the den now where we spend most of our time and his favorite toy is with him. You can see it in the picture to his left.
  8. If your just looking for numbers of fish the Kawarthas is a good spot as it's almost impossible to have a bad day there, but the majority of your fish will be on the small side. If you want a chance at multiple fish along with the possibility of some very big fish you may want to consider a drive down to Lake St. Clair.
  9. They used to float alot of logs down the Ottawa Matt, sometimes those old deadheads will pop up and ding you then disappear again. I hit something in 20' of water one time on a body of water I'd been on for 3 decades and knew every inch of. They used that lake to float logs too and I'd bet $$$$ it was a deadhead that got me also.
  10. Scary stuff for sure Gerritt but your a tough old nut and you'll be back on your feet in no time. As mentioned above, keep us posted as the what's goin on.
  11. I'm taking a Calcutta TE into Shimano tomorrow morning for an adjustment and cleaning. They do excellent work there, the pricing is great and the customer service is 2nd to none.
  12. Nice fishing tale wvmedic and it's good to hear you had a great vacation. It's always been my opinion that when your fishing that area there's no such thing as a bad trip, infact it's one of my favorite spots anywhere in this big beautiful country. Your right about Frank & Charlene at Memquisit too, their great folks and we've stayed with them several times and will be back for another 2 weeks starting August 8th. It was sad when Lakair closed down but now it's good to see a favorite place of mine being reborn and hopefully it runs for many more years.
  13. Really sorry for your loss Matt and I definitely feel your pain, infact just reading your post brought a tear to my eye. Putting down your bud is one of the toughest things a man ever has to go through.
  14. But it's even better when your part of our crew Bud
  15. Happy Birthday Canada
  16. I can only imagine how scary that can be Brian but we've got some fantastic doctors in Ontario and they'll get you fixed up in no time.
  17. Just wanted to be sure nobody confuses this advertised camp on Mashkinonje Lake with Mashkinonje Cottages on Lake Nipissing that some of us from this board frequent. Totally different places.
  18. In my 13+ years on this board Johnny, I think your the ONLY person to ever say I had a happy smile, infact most seem to think I look grumpy. Glad to see you recognized the truth
  19. At my age Brian, nothing happens that CAN'T be talked about
  20. And tonight it's those Costco steaks again, I musta done something right this week LOL
  21. Fantastic week as always Joey and I don't know if I've ever laughed as much LOL Like every other year it's great when Diane and I are sharing holidays with you, Paul, Rich & Patsy and am already looking forward to next June's trip. After reading your post I think I understand why none of us caught as many fish this year as usual, seems like we spent most of the 9 days stuffing our faces with food Thanks for putting the story together and as always, your pictures are fantastic !! And by the way, Diane made me my toast this morning
  22. Your gonna be travelling in style now !! Great buy.
  23. And hopefully your 1st musky is a brute.
  24. I've always liked your style Rick.
  25. Hope you rinse that mug out before pouring your morning coffee in it LOL
