  1. Cougars are everywhere Brian LOL
  2. Just sitting here wandering around the internet and glanced out the window and there's a pretty little deer walking down the road. Last week it was a bear in the back yard. Don't know why I ever lived in the city
  3. Wives just don't understand the real important things in life Paul
  4. Any chance you can bumped the back wall of the garage out a few feet Paul ?
  5. Thanks for the info Dan & Nipfisher, only about 12 days to go now....and I can't wait to get back up there.
  6. You should try and cast more often Mike, specially in shallower weedy or rocky waters, and you'll be amazed at how many big fish you'll get on a figure 8
  7. Atta boy Mike, good start to the season.
  8. Yup, it's already set up John, Regan & I are heading up. Just have to watch for that crazy detour we almost missed in the channel when the 4 of us took made the trip.
  9. Kawarthas isn't where I'd be heading if your looking for lots of pike. There's a few in the area now but there's other spots I'd be heading.

    PA day

I think it's great the way you & G spend so much time fishing together and I always enjoy reading your tales. This one was definitely no exception.
  11. Doesn't take much to turn a 1 pounder into a brute
  12. Appreciate that bowslayer, we stay just a few miles south of lavigne Yup, you know EXACTLY where I'm taking about Rich, go get her !!

  14. Funny, but I'm just the opposite. Never target pike but can't keep the silly things away some days when I'm looking for a musky. It always amazes me how those little snot rockets will hit a bait darned near as big as themselves Good luck on your tourney tomorrow.
  15. Oh yeah, there's always a back up plan. LOL That purty 50 incher in my avatar came off a rock point near Muscrat.
  16. Thanks for the info, but that's not what I was hoping for. Normally by the end of June the cabbage is getting up close to the surface in many areas and last year it was waaay down from there. Oh well, the West Arm is such a beautiful spot I could get skunked for the week but still honestly call it a fantastic fishing trip.
  17. Well, Diane is anyways Rich And anyhow, you Pennsylvania folks are all kinda nice too.
  18. Thanks for the info Bernie, I don't mind the water being up a bit but was sure hoping for some good weed growth this year. Last year was brutal for weeds and even into late August they were far below normal. C'mon Fred, you know Diane, she's had the wine packed for 3 months already
  19. Morning Fred, I do fish that area a bit but not really enough to even learn the decent spots. 99.9 % of my fishing is done where you and I go plus Aikenheads Bay and the Merganser area. Hopefully we'll get out again in August.
  20. We've been trying to hook-up for years Bruce, lets make it happen this year.
  21. Always great fishing with our Dad's Rick and a nice gift from him too. I've still got a knife my dad gave me nearly 60 years ago.
  22. I'm on my 2nd boat trailer with Marathons and so far ....touch wood....they've been great tires with no issues. Their made in China now and according to some websites I read it seems like a lot of guys have problems with them. I keep mine at 50 PSI, check them before every trip and don't tow above 65 MPH. Hopefully I haven't jinxed myself now LOL Other trailers I've had used Carlisle tires and I never had a problem with any of them either. I've read alot about folks being very happy with Maxxis trailer tires but have no personal experience I always jack my trailers up and put them on blocks for winter storage just to give the tires & springs a "rest" but have no idea if that actually helps or not but to me anyways it seems like a good idea.
  23. Hi guys, I'm heading up to the West Arm of Nipissing in a couple weeks for my annual musky trip and am wondering about water levels and weed growth. Last year the weeds were far below normal height and in June were almost non existent in alot of my normal spots. Anyone know if their growing better this year and are water levels around their normal depths ?? Appreciate whatever you've got.
  24. That's like being partly pregnant Bruce
