  1. Here's a nice sunset pic my wife took last night from the front door of our cabin, same location as my above pics from last year. This place on the West Arm of Nippissing produces incredible sunsets.
  2. Thanks Brian, nice of you to say that. I was able to retire from the Fire Dept. when I was 53 and fortunately Diane and I have stayed healthy (touch wood) and have really enjoyed life. Married 53 years this coming October and life just keeps getting better.
  3. My countdown to retirement ended 19 years ago and I've loved every minute of the last nearly 2 decades

Bug are actually the best I've ever seen up here, we,re outside all day and into the evening and not bothered at all. Deer flies are usually brutal here but I haven't had a single one on me this week. And I have no idea why the font changed LOL

Thanks Brian, always good to meet the neighbors
  7. Hi Boyz, we're up on the West Arm of Nippising for our annual trip We're 2 miles in off the hwy and there's always plenty of critters and always good to see them. Sunday we had 2 moose on the road right in front of us and then this morning while on my daily 4 mile walk I came on this big girl just off the road. She wasn't the least bit concerned with me being there and just went on with eating her breakfast. Thought you might enjoy the pictures.
  8. Hopefully your Dad's injury isn't too serious, that's a lousy way to end a holiday for sure.
  9. I'm heading to the West Arm on Saturday for a week, not looking too bad then...hopefully.
  10. Best product I've found and have been using it for years is the OFF Family Care, Smooth & Dry. Comes out as a dry powder and works great. No oily mess on your skin, no smell and best of all only 15% deet. I wander around the woods here at home all the time and walk 3-4 miles every morning and never get bothered by skeeters, even when up north.
  11. Nobody said anything about changing the world, he simply said he chewed someone out for apparently fishing for bass OOS
  12. Been a long time since we had the tiller vs. console arguments Shane LOL Fun times hahaha
  13. I don't mind the cool weather, infact I prefer it, but it sure would be nice to see the end of this darned rain.
  14. Pete, try Buckhorn Yacht Harbour, they've got a great reputation for repairs and may offer you a cheaper price on that part. I've never dealt with them but have heard good things about them. https://www.buckhornyachtharbour.com/
  15. Just by coincidence Pete I came across hwy 7 east of Peterboro this morning and there's a new Dewildt dealer there now. Never heard of the company before and now twice in a couple hours.
  16. I've always been 100% pro-cop but sometimes they can be real jerks like the guy you encountered. Couple years back we were at a cottage resort and two of the guests were out in a boat when they got stopped by the OPP. They were both wearing lifejackets and there were 2 more clearly visible on the seats. The driver had a rip in his jacket so the cop gave him a ticket somewhere over $200 saying the jackets had to be in good condition and his wasn't. The guy explained to the cop that legally he didn't even have to be wearing a jacket but the cop said that didn't matter because he WAS wearing one that was torn. No wonder so many folks have total disrespect for cops.
  17. Nice job Dave, hydraulic steering is one of the best things you can have on a boat.
  18. Here's a nice chunky incidental largie I got while casting for muskies. Used to actually get lots of them chasing huge baits
  19. Outstanding, bunch of nice fish for sure !!
  20. Fantastic beginning to your season Jimmer and hopefully it continues for you.
  21. Just another thought here but any chance there's any off road clubs around the area ? Those guys are always getting bogged down but they have winches on their trucks and they may be able to get you out.
  22. Gas dropped 2 cents over my way today, course it'll probably go up 5 cents tomorrow.
  23. That would still be better than Walleye Park John LOL
  24. I mentioned in another thread a few days ago that I couldn't see the system opening on time. Water levels are coming down but the currents are still fast. I took a drive up to Burleigh Falls yesterday and the current and high water is crazy right now.
  25. I started fishing Hay Bay (Bay of Quinte) way back around 1955 with my family and we used to camp at Pickerel Park and to this day it's still called PICKEREL Park and I doubt if they have any intentions of changing it to Walleye Park LOL
