My brother was a member here and posted under the name of eddyk Ed died back in 2007 and somehow Joey got hold of a photo of Ed and I fishing. Joey secretly took up a collection among some board members without me knowing anything about it and had Pamela paint the picture then her and Paul showed up at my house one evening and presented me with the picture. One of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received and Joey was one of the nicest people I ever had the honor of calling a good friend.

Always enjoy the Jiggy Jiggy stories TJ and can't believe how much the kids have grown up in the last few years.

4 stroke you need to change the oil & filter, 2 stroke you don't need to.

My wife had a total knee replacement a couple months ago and is still recuperating and the doc said anywhere from 3-6 months for full recovery. Obviously not the same thing but I spose the pain is similar and good luck with your surgery & recovery and I guess all I can offer is do exactly what the doctors and therapists tell you to do.

You've always had a good way with words Brian and that was a very nice, touching post.

They're nice and comfortable and I wore one myself but as Dan668 suggested just know that they have been known NOT to work when guys have fallen or been thrown from boats. If that happens and your injured or out cold you'll be in trouble. Plenty of reports around the web of them failing.

But I received this today and thought some might appreciate it.

I've mentioned it here before but my Mom's brother was a bomber pilot during the war and him and his whole crew were all killed when their plane went down but the wreckage was never found so it was presumed they hit the ocean. Mom always said it was terrible they were all killed but the worst part was never knowing where they died or the fact they were never able to bury them and get closure. I thought of this when they couldn't find Kevin but now it'll be easier on all his loved ones. I also lost my son when he was only 37 so I know what they're all going through right now and it stinks.

I've got a good excuse for not posting fish pics anymore Brian...I no longer fish LOL
-
Lousy news for sure but if it is Kevin it'll be much better for the family with closure.

Anybody still have their OFC mug ? The handle fell off mine the 1st time I ever poured a coffee in it but I still have it along with a bunch of other mugs I've collected over the years. Weird but I can't attach the picture for some reason...oh well

Great gesture Dan, giving your jacket to the guide. Those jackets were pretty popular back in the day and lots of us guys wore them but darned if I know where mine is now, I'm guessing it got lost when I moved 8 years ago.

nf Government coming after me for taxes that I've already paid
lew replied to Sterling's topic in General Discussion
This crap's been going on for years. I bought a new boat 20 years ago and paid all the taxes, then a couple years later I got the same letter as you did. I still had the bill of sale so sent them a copy to prove everything was paid and then awhile later got the same letter again so once again I sent them a copy. About a year or so later I got my 3rd letter wanting proof of taxes paid but this time I just ignored the morons and never heard them again. -
Since I quit fishing a couple years back I seldom read any fishing reports here anymore and had no idea who Kevin was until I just saw the post grimsbyangler bumped up. Really sad news, Kevin always seemed like a very nice guy and prayers for all involved.

hahaha, I just bought a new truck and it cost me 4 times more than my 1st house. And ketchenany, I guess my $100 wasn't so bad afterall LOL
-
I joined the Fire Dept. in Toronto in 1968 and my salary was $100 a week, now I pay more than that for a tank of gas in my truck.....I spose it's all relative LOL
-
Yeah, it did seem sorta ironic LOL

Kinda funny, but I've been working outside most of the day and just came in a few minutes back to have lunch and turned on the TV and sure enough the movie "Twister" is playing on the 1st channel I came to.

I'm not too far away from you Shane and the night of the warnings it absolutely pounded down rain here along with strong winds. This morning we had heavy rain, lightning & thunder between 6-6:30, infact enough that it shut down my satellite dish for awhile, yet friends of ours just down in Peterboro never got a drop. Pretty hard for the forecasters to pinpoint anything exactly.
-
I think what it all boils down to is the other night we received a warning that tornadoes were POSSIBLE in certain areas and it turns out the forecasters were 100% correct, they hit in roughly a spot we were warned about. I'd guess most of us realize that forecasting EXACTLY when and where a tornado will hit is still somewhere in the future but as I said earlier I'd rather be given a heads up that there was a possibility of one hitting my house rather than knowing nothing about it till it was too late and my family was killed. It's kinda like some people complain about potholes in the road, then they complain when they get held up because crews block the road to fix the potholes.
-
I have no issues with warnings being broadcast and as Dan suggested I'd rather be given a heads-up that tornadoes are possible than be told nothing and get wholloped without knowing what hit me. The warning the other night said they were possible in certain areas and a couple of those spots did get hit. Imagine how many people around North America could be alive today if they'd been given 10 minutes heads-up that tornadoes were possible. And it's not like we get these warning very often either.

Fun times guys and good fish. Nipissing is definitely a musky factory.
-
Sorry to hear about your Mom Marty, that's always tough but good to know your Dad enjoyed the trip along with you guys.

I no longer fish but still spend several weeks a year up on the West Arm of Nipissing and the highlite of every day is the incredible sunsets up there. A couple shots from last week.
