  1. 53 wonderful years this coming October
  2. I remember that day well Bud hahaha Great picture too.
  3. Don't feel sad for me Brian, it's what I wanted to do and don't miss it at all. The fella that bought my boat and alot of my gear owns the camp we still go to every June & August and I went out with him once or twice after he got it and I honestly didn't even really enjoy it anymore. Funny how things change in our lives.
  4. And that's what it's all about right there.
  5. Howzbout some early morning mist of Nippising...absolutely best time of the day
  6. Beauty pic Brian, really nice. Makes getting up before the birds worthwhile doesn't it ?
  7. Hey Brian, we did go ice fishing together once, course it was many many moons ago LOL
  8. Basically I just tired of it, I started fishing waaay back around 1950 and spent a crazy amount of time doing it. We had a trailer in the Kawarthas (Lakefield) for 36 years & for the last 9 years we've lived just north of there and it seemed like I was almost living in my boat sometimes and a couple years ago I started to get bored with it. The last couple years the only fishing I did was a week in June on Nippising and then 2 more in August and the rest of the time the boat sat getting dusty in the garage. I still get offers to join friends in their boats but the interest just isn't there anymore. I sold everything including my boat and the funny thing is I don't miss it at all. There's still a small group of us go to Nip every June but nobody brings their boats either.
  9. Perhaps your thinking of this item ? LOL
  10. I often spend more time in the garage than in the house Shane, gotta keep it clean & organized LOL
  11. I do keep a nice clean garage HH
  12. Sure, you can buy a stand custom made for any tool Bill, but what fun is that ?? LOL
  13. Yeah, the stand won't look new for very long, I'm always doing something with the saw. As for the colour match, I just went to the local Home Hardware and got a DEWALT drill off the shelf and took it to the paint dept where they can scan pretty well any item and match the colour almost exact.
  14. I bought a new DEWALT table saw awhile back and the old stand was getting kinda rickety so I built a new one. Then I decided it looked kinda bland so what's a fella to do with a bland stand ??....well, paint it to match the saw. Yeah, I have LOTS of spare time now that I no longer fish LOL
  15. Best wishes to you too Eric, both you & Paul have been more than inspirational over all these years with how well you've handled this disease and I don't ever remember either one of you actually whining about the hand you were dealt. Lots of folks whine about every ache or pain but not you two.
  16. Best of luck Paul, hopefully this is just a bump in the road.
  17. Yeah, it's been windy here the last few few nights Brian
  18. Here's a nice sunset pic my wife took last night from the front door of our cabin, same location as my above pics from last year. This place on the West Arm of Nippissing produces incredible sunsets.
  19. Thanks Brian, nice of you to say that. I was able to retire from the Fire Dept. when I was 53 and fortunately Diane and I have stayed healthy (touch wood) and have really enjoyed life. Married 53 years this coming October and life just keeps getting better.
  20. My countdown to retirement ended 19 years ago and I've loved every minute of the last nearly 2 decades

    Mrs. Moose

Bug are actually the best I've ever seen up here, we,re outside all day and into the evening and not bothered at all. Deer flies are usually brutal here but I haven't had a single one on me this week. And I have no idea why the font changed LOL

Thanks Brian, always good to meet the neighbors
  24. Hi Boyz, we're up on the West Arm of Nippising for our annual trip We're 2 miles in off the hwy and there's always plenty of critters and always good to see them. Sunday we had 2 moose on the road right in front of us and then this morning while on my daily 4 mile walk I came on this big girl just off the road. She wasn't the least bit concerned with me being there and just went on with eating her breakfast. Thought you might enjoy the pictures.
  25. Hopefully your Dad's injury isn't too serious, that's a lousy way to end a holiday for sure.
