I sailed along the north shore of the island back in my Navy days and saw a couple iceburgs but that's a close as I got.

We're going thru the States then New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI but not hitting The Rock although I for sure want to do that trip one day.

Just guessing here but I'd imagine he'd be charged by the police for the unsafe hook-up.

What if O'Leary had a few drinks with his friends and was doing the responsible thing and letting his wife drive the boat, or is that too hard to imagine ?

Guess he forgot to hook his safety chains up after he forgot to secure the trailer to his car properly. Luckily it was just a small boat.

I took this picture of a loon that kept swimming under my boat quite a few years back on Pigeon Lake and your right, it's a great experience to watch that sort of thing. I figured maybe a school of fish was sitting in the shade of my boat and the loon was taking advantage of easy pickings LOL

About 15 years ago another fella from England posted here that he was travelling to Peterborough and wondered if anyone in the area would like to hook up for some fishing. I had a place nearby and invited him up when he got here and we had a great day fishing together and became very good friends after that. We kept in touch for a long time that but sadly he's never come back to Canada. I still live just 15 miles or so north of Peterborough but no longer fish but there's lots of other guys in the area who I'm sure can help you out. Best of luck when you get here, it's a beautiful part of Ontario.

I think when you consider the large amount of boat traffic in the Kawartha's, specially on weekends, the number of serious collisions is relatively small in my opinion.

I wouldn't think anyone would actually need any kind of report to know most people that drown weren't wearing PFD's

2 fishing boats collided on Stoney Lake over the weekend with one man dead and another missing. Looked like one boat T-Boned the other.

If you want some great Polish food while your there Tom, take hwy 60 a couple miles east of Barry's Bay and go to the Wilno Tavern and you'll be very happy you did. It's 100 miles from my house but my wife and I head there a couple times a year for lunch.
