  1. WTG Kemper, always good to see softwater fishing reports this time of year !!
  2. Rich, that's a beautiful new pup you've got there and I'm sure you've done the right thing. Don't think of her as a replacement for Nakita because it's impossible to dupicate what you've lost, but just make her welcome as another member of your family. My last dog was a wonderful little toy poodle named Scamper and we had her for 13 fabulous years, but then had to put her down when she became very sick. I didn't think I could ever have another dog as great as her and we waited for 8 years before we decided to get another. We've now had Marvin for 11 years and again it's been an awesome experience and he's everything a person could hope for in a pooch. Best of luck with your new found friend and hopefully she'll help relieve some of the hurting you've gone thru in the past week.
  3. Your a good person Joey
  4. Those pictures are excellent, thanks for putting them up !!!! It's always great to see kids learning new things and doing them for the 1st time
  5. Hey Rich, your new signature is hilarious hahaha That'd make a great bumper sticker
  6. Mines about 1400 pounds including the motor Kevin and the 6 hp moved it fine but just had problems in a turn with a good crosswind, but it would probably work well on yours.
  7. Kevin, I had a 6 hp kicker on my Crestliner and even that wouldn't turn the boat into a good crosswind unless I cranked it right up.
  8. Good to hear your day went well Wayne, and nice to see Adam & Sandy made it too.
  9. I think the stack on the right is the old Hearn generating station down at Cherry Beach TJ, and the one on the left looks like the sewage treatment plant over near Coxwell. Not sure about the one in the center but it's probably to do with the Hearn plant too. If you pan your camera another 90 degrees to your left and look to the horizon, that's me waving to you from the house with the brown roof and the snow on the front lawn
  10. I served a few years in the Navy in the 60's, then spent the next 32 years as a fireman here in Toronto and retired when I was 53 and am now enjoying every minute of it. We have a nice trailer north of the city where I spend most of my time between May & November and my boat sits at the dock close by and I think I spend more time fishing than I do on dry land, and that's a good thing. I often spend 10, 12 even 14 hours a day on the water and luv every minute of it At least once a week I trailer my boat to another lake somewhere for a change of scenery and also take off on several extended fishing trips every year with the blessing of my wife........I've been married to an angel for nearly 42 years After 8 years of retirement, I actually went back to work a few months ago to give me something to do during the winter months. I'm not at all interested in ice fishing so the winters were beginning to get a bit boring. I'm now delivering new cars for Honda all across Southern & Eastern Ontario and really enjoying it. The hours are great and flexible and I can almost pick the days I want to work and must admit, all the extra $$$$ is pretty nice too. Once the nice weather and fishing season returns, I'll be heading back to the trailer, but will keep the part time job for when I'm around the city. Retirement is good, at least for me anyways and if your able to do it early, that's even better. Too many people leave this earth before they even begin to enjoy a few years without having to punch a clock. If your in a position now to retire and it's something you want to do, then I say go ahead and do it while your still able to enjoy yourself. One of these morning you'll wake up and then it's too late to enjoy everything you've worked all those years for. Best of luck to you if you decide to make the move !! But that's all just my opinion.....
  11. These are mine here taper.....cobalt cutter.......kx7111200 That spring makes a big difference in my opinion
  12. Yup, if your looking for top quality, definetely go with the Knipex. They'll cost you some extra $$$$ but you'll be very happy you spent a bit more when it's time to cut some heavy hooks in a hurry. I'd suggest the ones with the spring in them for opening them up automatically too, at least that's the one I use and it just makes life that much easier. Ordered mine from the Ringlord and had them in 2 days http://www.theringlord.com
  13. Gotta luv soft water reports from Ontario in February !! Thanks for the moral booster and well done on some very nice fish
  14. Welcome to OFC Wulff and thanks for those incredible pictures, you've got a real talent for catching wildlife in motion. I especially luv the shot of the rabbit in mid-air, that's truly amazing that you were able to capture a picture like that !! Looking forward to the rest of your collection.
  15. Thanks for the update Wayne and really good to hear everything went well and your daughter is on the way to a full recovery, and as you say, a chance at getting back to a normal life again. Lotsa folks complain about having to work at tough jobs, but the toughest job of all is worrying about our kids and no matter how old they get, the worrying part is always there. Again, thanks for the good news Wayne
  16. Good to have you back Wayne and hopefully everything turned out well.
  17. That's a beautiful pike your son got, congrats to him. I don't think there's a father anywhere who isn't secretly hoping to get taught a fishing lesson from their son when their out enjoying that time together My son always beat me 10 - 1 when we were fishing, but I loved every minute of it and the more he rubbed it in, the more fun I knew we were having. Good times !!!!
  18. Percy Boom is most definetely closed for musky at this time of year.
  19. I may be wrong Will, but I'm pretty sure Sam opens up his store in Belleville early to sell his minnows and other tackle to the early risers.
  20. You weren't sposed to see that one Jamie
  21. Jeez Rich, I'm really so very sorry to hear that news, specially after her coming along so well from the recent surgery and all. I know exactly what your going thru bud, been there a few times myself and there's not too much anyone can can say to make it any easier for you. You've got my condolances Rich
  22. I had to go out to Kingston yesterday morning and the prices there ranged anywhere from $1.04 - $1.10, then when I got back to Toronto, I saw one ESSO station selling it for $1.01 while the radio reported some stations in the GTA were as much as $1.14 Seems to me as if some of these guys are just charging whatever the heck they feel they can get away with.
  23. Yup, gettin lazy in my old age Corey, it was darned near 3:30 before I dragged myself outta bed this morning Mornin boyz !!!!
  24. Guess the gas companies are gradually pushing us towards the record high retail prices they promised us for this coming summer season.
  25. Mornin Wayne, best of luck to your daughter today Bud, St. Mikes is a good place. We'll probably be passing each other on the 400, I'm delivering a car to Barrie this morning.
