Sorry to hear about your Dad but it sounds like you've got many wonderful memories of him and they'll stay with you forever.

Shimano in Peterboro is excellent, I had a problem with a 400 Calcutta last year so took it into them and they had it all fixed up the next day and never charged me a cent for their troubles. Great service from a great company.

Surprised to see you posting here again Garry, it's only been a couple weeks since you made a big thing about nobody replying to a couple of your posts and said you were leaving OFC permanently because you weren't getting enough attention

I've always had good luck selling stuff here in the OFC classifieds but I recentely had a set of nice wheels listed for sale but nobody was interested, so after leaving them posted here a month I listed them on Kijiji and sold them the next day for full asking price. I had a total of 5 differerent guys wanting them with-in 2 days. That was my one & only experience with Kijiji, but it worked good for me.

I'm with you on that one Roy, and I've been using a bait caster for probably 55 years or so and don't recall ever having issues with them. IMHO, the biggest problem folks seem to have with them is they THINK their difficult to use and almost seem intimidated by them when infact there's actually nothing at all to be concerned with. Just think of a baitcaster as another tool in the box, not unlike a new circ saw or cordless drill that just takes some getting used to. Baitcasters are VERY simple to use and once you get the hang of it, you'll wonder what the heck all the fuss was about ....it just takes a bit of practice.

I've been lucky enough to sit in on a few of Gord Pyzers seminars over the years and the man definetely knows how to hold an audience and puts on an excellent show. Also enjoy watching him on the tube with Izumi and the In-Fisherman gang too.

I've dealt with Paris Marine north of Peterboro for 20 odd years and have always had good service from them, and I bought my new rig from Hastings Marine in Hastings and so far they been good too.

I dunno Jer, but 2 were heading north and 2 going south. Maybe they know something we don't ??

I ran a 90 HP Merc 4 str. for 8 years on a Crestliner and it was absolutely flawless without even 1 single issue. Last year I got a new boat with a 150 Yamaha 4 str. and after being on the water nearly every day of the season, with many miles on her, that motor was also flawless and I have no doubt that trend will continue for many years. Just my opinion, but I think the entire crop of current motors are good, including both the E-Tech and Suzuki your also considering.

Haven't been there for awhile, but they used to open about 10:30 on weekdays Don't know about weekends though.

I saw 4 boats being towed on the 115 yesterday, that's gotta be a good sign.

That's one thing that I really like since moving here to the country, is the fact that there AREN'T any fences anywhere, nobody on this entire road has one infact. Kinda nice not having that big wooden box surrounding everyones property

I went with the Keel Shield when I bought my new glass boat last year and so far I'm very happy with it. Fortunately I don't normally have to beach my boat, but I spend alot of time on both Stoney and the West Bay of Nippissing so it's nice to know it'll be there if I ever accidentely troll across one of those unseen islands Very easy to install as long as you follow the instructions EXACTLY and do it on a warm day. Morning Art I do the same with wrapping the brushes and rollers in plastic and keeping them in the fridge when I'm gonna use the same color the next day, then discard the roller and replace with new. The Mrs gets abit upset though when I take an extended break from painting something and forget the stuff is in the fridge for a couple weeks
