  1. Sorry Roy, I think I misunderstood you.
  2. Good stuff Roy, we're there August 4-18
  3. I ordered these Rock Tamer mud flaps from Cabellas and got them installed on the truck yesterday. Pretty good service from Cabellas too as I had them 4 days after they were shipped out. Pretty slick set up where the main bracket slides over the 2" draw bar on the hitch, then adjustable arms come out either side to hold the flaps wherever you want them depending on the width of your truck. They can also be raised or lowered depending on the weight being carried in the truck. When you don't need the flaps, just remove the draw bar and the whole package comes off. Should work well to keep alot of rocks & road junk from hitting the boat & trailer.
  4. I'm in for that Pete.
  5. Fun stuff guys, great way to spend a Saturday
  6. I hate to admit it, but it almost seems like our annual trip may be petering out.
  7. Yeah, you'll miss some fish with jerkbaits, just like with any other bait, but just keep the same action going all the way back to the boat and there's every chance the fish will make another grab for it. She liked the action enough the 1st time to swipe at it, so give her another chance. Just don't be in too much of a hurry to set the hook when the fish grabs it, instead wait until you actually feel the weight of it. Too often guys will see the fish hit and actually pull the bait away from her before it's even in her mouth. Jerkbaits are awesome for muskies and I probably get at least a 1/3 of my fish that way.
  8. Fishing Quinte in May we always do well trolling after dark Dan. Minnowbaits trolled in 8-10 FOW water over mud flats.
  9. Try 8" fluoro for jerkbait leaders and you'll get far better action on your baits.
  10. Putting 500 hours a year on your motor is another excellent reason for going with the new one Mike. And this is just a thought, but could you possibly use the new motor as some sort of tax deduction seeing as you use it for your guiding business
  11. I'll probably be passing on the g2g this year, but a few of us are going up for a couple weeks in August.
  12. If it was me Mike, I'd be buying the new Yamaha rather that putting a whole whack of $$$$ into the 12 year old Honda.
  13. Wouldn't happen to be a Legend Tournament would it Pete ?? Leaders look good.
  14. I'll recommend the Yamaha too Mike.
  15. I find all Stringeze products to be top quality, at least in my experience anyways.
  16. But he's still a heck of a nice guy Chris
  17. I sometimes watch Breakfast Television from Toronto for the news in the morning and tuned into the show a few minutes ago. Turns out their doing an outdoor broadcast from Lake Rosseau in Muskoka today and they've got a bunch of the locals there and everyone is sitting around a big roaring bonfire. You'd think at least one person would have heard about the fireban, specially those working for a large news channel
  18. If someone is looking to buy either a boat or a truck to pull it and their concerned about how much $$$$ they'll spend on gas, then I think their looking at the wrong vehicles. But that's just my opinion.
  19. I use the same ones as Drifter and their excellent.
  20. Poodles are better than mice or kittens, and if you can hook them thru the sweater it saves messing around with cedar planks.

    More bears

We often have bears roaming around here at night and I've had them in both the front and back yards several times. I looked out front this morning and found my bird feeder pulled down and it would appear Mr. Bruin had a small feast on the seed overnight. The green tubing is ABS but it sits overtop of a metal pole driven into the ground that is now bent about 50 degrees.
  22. My Dad was in the Navy for 5 years during the war and when they were at sea powdered eggs were all they had. He said they were the most foul (fowl) tasting thing he ever ate and still talked about them decades later I'm sure the technology is somewhat better today.
  23. Good to hear Ron and I've always had good service from them too. Where about's are they located now ??
  24. They've always been great folks to deal with Jer.
  25. I tell myself that every day of the week Joey
