  1. Congrats on the new PB, she's a beaut !! No need to apologize either.
  2. Very nice indeed Rolly !!
  3. C ya
  4. We do that up here on the back deck all the time Art and your right, it works wonders for keeping the bugs away.
  5. Don't feel bad davey, my brother lived there for 15 years and I still forget how to spell it
  6. I don't fish for pike, infact I consider them nothing more than a nuisance, but IMHO I don't think their the least bit line shy and will hit just about anything that crosses their path. When I'm fishing muskies on the West Arm of Nippissing it's nearly always big baits with 130# fluoro and some days you can't keep them off your hooks. I'm talking foot long lures or large spinnerbaits with up to #13 tandem blades and 7/0 hooks either casting or trolling up to 6 or 7 MPH and their hammering them. I took this pic last year just cause I thought it was amazing what those little slimers will hit. Toss whatever you've got in the box and a pike will grab it
  7. Your doing a great job Gerrit, on both ends of the age scale !!
  8. I had my thumb sliced open by a musky tooth one time and ended up with 8 stitches in it. The Doc told me the combination of fish slime & bacteria from the lake water is a very bad combination and to ALWAYS get any serious cut checked by a doctor.
  9. Lemme know next time RG, I live only 3 miles north of there now.
  10. Always good when a boat gets set up properly and running just the way it's supposed to. Your also gonna be very happy with that Guest charger too RG. I put one on my last boat back in '99 and it's still going strong to this day. As for the mechanics at Hastings, I agree, their all very good and also extremly friendly. I was there a couple months back for some minor warranty work on my Yammie & they treated me like royalty.
  11. It was definetely a very enjoyable week Rich and as always, it was great spending so much time with you & Patsy and thanks again for dinner. Can't wait to get back up in a few more weeks.
  12. Always fun spending time with you guys Joey and as usual your pictures turned out fantastic. We left about 6:30 yesterday morning and got home about noon. Here's a few pictures I got with you, Paul & Ralphie. See you again in a few weeks.
  13. He's turning out to be a great little pooch Brian !!
  14. Good to see you made it safely Rich, we should roll in around 10:30-11:00 And why are you on a computer and not out fishing ??
  15. Thanks folks, I'm looking forward to a great trip. And Joey, you tell Paul it'll be my pleasure
  16. The truck & boat are all washed, waxed, loaded and ready to roll at sunrise tomorrow morning. This'll be about my 8th year at Lakair on the West Arm of Nipissing and we spend about 3 weeks a year up there. The muskies can be tempermental at times and do a good job of hiding deep in the weeds, but with alot of effort they can be dug out. My last trip up there was 10 months ago when I was able to get these 3 pretty ladies. I know where these girls hang out and hopefully their Momma's will be there too. I don't bother posting many fishing reports anymore but if the Nipissing musky Gods smile on me next week I may just write one up
  17. I won't be coming down Mike, but I know you guys always have a great time with your g2g Just leave us a couple slimers for the annual October trip.

    Muskies

Some nice fish there Matt Lemme know when your back and we can hook up again, maybe do Chemong ??
  19. We used to stop for breakfast in a little place just north of Huntsville and then it burned down. Then we started going to another restaurant on 11 a few miles north and ate there for a few years and then it was torn down to widen the road. The last couple years it's been a nice little place in South River beside the beer store but I spose now he's gonna lose alot of business too. Looks like I'm gonna start brown bagging samiches for my trips north if they keep getting rid of the eateries.
  20. Thanks fellas, sounds like my info was correct. And yes, it's sad when you think of all the small businesses that lose alot of money when the main hiways no longer go past their front doors. Progress is good for the folks driving the hiways, but lousy for the folks who depend on the drivers money.
  21. I'm heading north on Saturday and someone told me that hwy 11 no longer goes thru Sundridge and South River, but now by-passes them. Anyone know for sure ??
  22. Absolutely Pete
  23. Neither are many of our politicians.
  24. Maybe the same doofus that decided the Christmas Tree at Nathan Philips Square would be re-named the Holiday Tree a few years back so as not to offened non-Christians
  25. Fishing used to be soooo simple
