  1. Are you talking about the big 200 gallon tanks ?? Those things are big, awkward and heavy and it doesn't make sense that someone would go to the trouble of loading them into a boat, one or two at a time, hauling them across the water and then carrying them back on shore again...that's really weird !!
  2. It's hard to figure what's gonna happen around my area. The newspaper says we're gonna get 4 inches of snow tomorrow, and the weather network says there's a 40% chance we may get flurries.
  3. There's a "pick you own" berry farm over near Buckhorn and this time of year they tap the maple trees and allow visitors in to watch the process. They also have a pancake breakfast and give the proceeds to the loacal legion. We're gonna go over tomorrow for awhile and watch whats happening and probably have breakfast too. I'll take the camera and get a few pictures to post here.
  4. Great pictures Joey, those birds are usually pretty rare this time of year, at least in my area.

Thanks folks, anyone know what type of owl that is ?? Joey, too bad you don't have your big lens here right now as that bird is still sitting in the tree with the sun beating down on him. it would make a great shot with your camera. And Bernie, you just never know what's gonna come wandering outta them woods
  7. Atta boy Bernie, always good when a plan works the way it's sposed to.

My friendly local owl stopped by for another visit today. And the daily visit by a few deer...always nice to see.
  9. Muskies are the only species I target and once the season closes mid-December, so does my interest in fishing. I occupy my time with other interests during the winter and get back into fishing mode when the season re-opens in early June. My gear is always in good shape before it goes into hibernation and when spring arrives, everything, including me, is ready for the soft water. I have zero interest in ice fishing and even though I visit this & many other fishing sites thru the cold months, I seldom if ever read the ice fishing reports. Really enjoy alot of the NF topics though
  10. Congratulations Mike, you write some great stuff !!
  11. He's buried pretty deep in the bushes so he musta been going fairly fast, lucky they weren't tossed outta the boat.
  12. Dagnabit, my tinfoil hats at the cleaners
  13. Just to clarify, I don't fish for pike and wasn't targetting them when that little guy hit
  14. Pike are insane, specially the little dink snot rockets, and there's no such thing as a musky bait that's too big for them to try and inhale
  15. I've obviously missed something Mike, are you now having your fishing tales printed in a magazine ??
  16. That's a great set-up you've got there TJ, love the way you've kept it "old school" And in keeping with the theme of this thread, I just ate a big mess of French Toast with maple syrup
  17. Great catch and congrats on the PB !!
  18. I also had a few issues when I 1st switched over to the new format a month ago, but now that I've got it figured out for the most part, I actually like it better than the old version, and find it quite easy to use.
  19. All the best to ya young feller !!
  20. The place is looking good Gerritt, your doing some excellent work !! That darker wood detail at the front entrance really sets it off nicely.
  21. No remote trips planned, but will be doing my usual few weeks on the West Arm of Nippissing thru the summer, then the end of September or early October will be an annual trip to the St. Lawrence and later in the fall is another yearly trip to LSC. All trips will be strictly muskies.
  22. Those years will just fly by ....in about 4 decades
  23. Ain't that the truth
  24. I'd imagine a moose would agree with you Remo
  25. Excellent job on the box !! The muskies don't care if your gear is fancy or not.
