  1. Outstanding creations as always Chris !!
  2. It's a tough and extremely dangerous job, but still always very sad when things like this happen.
  3. I don't fish for bass but still prefer cork grips on my fishing poles. I also started using a split grip on my new musky bucktail rod last year and really liked the feel of it.
  4. Lots of great memories starting there Rob.
  5. That's a fantastic picture PURENEWF...really great !!
  6. Well, it would seem I'm not the only one having problems with FedEx. Next time someone wants to ship that way to me I'll suggest they use a different carrier, or forget about it.
  7. Jeez, I hope my mini rant didn't bust OFC
  8. I placed a phone order with a company on Wednesday and was told he'd get the item sent right out with FedEx and I'd have it Thursday. I waited all the next day and it never arrived, then FedEx phoned me Thursday evening to tell me that their driver couldn't find my house. I'm 1 1/2 miles down a dirt road but I'm still easy to find. He confirmed he had the correct address and assured me I'd have it Friday. Well Friday passed and nothing, so last night I used the tracking # and found where he couldn't find me again so I phoned Fed Ex to see what the heck is going on and was told the driver was on my road but just can't locate my house, even though it's very well marked and the road is in good shape. I asked why he didn't just punch my address in his GPS and was told he maybe doesn't have one. I then said why didn't he just phone me for directions and was told he maybe doesn't have a cell phone either. They say now it wouldn't be delivered over the weekend and Monday is a holiday so it'll get here Tuesday. I asked what happens if he still can't find me on Tuesday and received an "I dunno" What kind of company lets drivers deliver to rural areas without at least a phone when they can't find an address ??...and what happens if the truck breaks down in the middle of nowhere ?? I've always had great service from UPS & Purolator and this is my 1st and hopefully last dealing with FedEx. And how was your week ??
  9. Trailer parks can be alot of fun and we were in one for 36 years on Lake Katchawanooka in the Kawarthas north of Peterboro with a couple different trailers. I bought a home just 5 miles from the park 3 years ago so I sold my place but we still hang around with alot of the lifetime friends we made there over the years. When we left 3 years ago we were paying about $2200 but that included everything, including my own dock with electrical hook-up for my boat charger. I was only 100 yards from the water and had a huge lot with the nearest trailer in front of me being 100' away. I also built an "add-on" room years ago plus a large covered deck. There was an additional tax put on these rooms a couple years back but that was $75 a year but I felt it was worth it with all the extra room. The quality of this particular park went downhill the last few years but all the good years before that, plus the life long friends certainly made up for it. I always thought the small privately family owned parks were the best. My little hide-away in the woods.
  10. Don't worry about trolling too long with the 4 stroke, you'll be able to go all day and when you hit the throttle it'll be instant response, unlike a 2 stroke that can bog down after awhile. I don't know what trolling speeds you'll be looking for but if you want to slow way down you can always drag a drift sock or something similar. Mine would get down to around 2 1/2 MPH but that was about it.
  11. That's a great motor, your gonna be very happy with it !!
  12. I wish I had a secret spot
  13. Ron and I were posting at the same time, I wasn't trying to best him with the .5 and I didn't see his until I clicked "post"
  14. Been about 40 years since I caught my 1st musky. And the only one I ever intentionally killed.
  15. Awesome Pete !!
  16. Purdy fish for sure !!
  17. I've had a couple over the years Shane and your right , their excellent boats.
  18. Back in the 80's I bought a Cherokee Laredo 4X4 to haul my snowmobiles around and that was one awesome vehicle , the darned thing could go just about anywhere in the snow. I think the best commercial on TV right now is the Jeep racing down the mountain trying to outrun the avalanche, getting buried by it and then busting out at the end....Great commercial
  19. You summed up my feeling exactly Dave. I went to the show for many many years, waaaay back infact, but 3 or 4 years ago I'd had enough and said I'd never return. Used to be I could spend an entire day there looking at stuff and yakkin with folks but the last couple trips I'd see everything in 2 hours and be heading home. Not nearly as much stuff as they used to have and the prices have gotten ridiculous. The Spring Show is nice with the free parking, but last time I was there they wanted $3.50 for a crummy bottle of water. I haven't been back there for a couple years either.
  20. And my wood supplier is buffed up very nicely Brian
  21. Mine gets delivered right to my backyard, already cut & split. I have no idea how it gets that way.
  22. And Skeeter too.
  23. I saw something on the boob tube that says stainless steel will last 100,000 years. Didn't say how they've proved that though
  24. That's terrible news Simon and so sorry to hear about this. Fingers crossed that everything turns out OK for your son and his friend.
