Same for Clear Lake east of you Shawn, it was wide open Wednesday and frozen right across last night. Kinda pretty right now too with the crescent moon shining on the ice.

Congrats on making one of the smartest decisions of your life. Giving up those filthy things isn't nearly as hard as you may think and when you really get a craving for one, just don't do it....it's that simple. 22 years for me now.

Outstanding as always MB, specially those big toothy guys !! Kinda makes you wonder about wasting time on all those other species eh ??

Couple nice fish there Dave, good to see you guys toughing out the cool weather.

My wife and I go out for dinner every Friday night and always have a great time. Sometimes it's just the 2 of us, other nights it's with a group of friends. Might be the $12 Chinese buffet or sometimes it's a couple hundred dollars at a nicer place but to us it's always worth it. Been married 47+ years but Friday is still called "date night"

Yeah, good to have you back Alex.

About the same over my way Norm, kinda pretty this morning when the sun was shining on it. Now that's enough winter for me

Pays to buy quality 1st time around eh.

I put the winter tires & wheels on the truck this morning then decided I may as well get the snow blower outta the shed after sitting for 7 or 8 months and make sure it's good for the upcoming winter season. Filled er up with fresh stabilized gas, pulled on the choke, couple primes and pulled the starter cord and the old girl fired right up on the very 1st pull and right away was purring like a kitten just as it does every year. Always good to take the extra time and do things right when your storing stuff away for a long period of time. Now I'm ready for the winter

Some nice fish there Roy, but it's not surprising, Marc's always on the bigguns.

Seems to me Eagle Lake is on the list.

I think there's about 7 lakes listed that could hold the new WR and Nippissing is definitely one of them.

Our old family deer camp for many years was an abandoned farm near the s/e corner of Algonquin Park. My mom was born and raised in a little town called Killaloe about 35 miles from there. Her old uncles checked the archives for the history of the farm and found it was built about 1825. I started going there around 1956 and as you can somewhat see in this picture the barn is fairly intact and the walls of the house on the left are standing but the roof has collapsed. This place is isolated even now but close to 200 years ago it must have been unbelievable and I've often thought about how tough his his life must have been living in such isolation. Even today there's absolutely nothing around 'cept trees and water and the nearest hiway is 10 miles away. Those 2 buildings are long gone now and nothing more than a mound in the earth, but I was still about to slog thru the bush a few years back and find the place....lotsa great memories. When I was a kid in the 50's I used to visit my family in Killaloe and well remember how different it was from the city. They had the big old wood stove in the kitchen that was used for both cooking and heating the house and there was no indoor plumbing other than the hand pump in the kitchen. Tough life but it made for some tough people too.

Amazing what a few smart guys can do with primitive tools.

And that's why I wasn't smiling Brian

I've been wearing the same Sorel hiking boots for 15 years now and other than the soles wearing smooth their darned near as good as day one. Used to be an excellent boot, hope the quality hasn't slipped like on so many other products.

Well, there's your answer

We've got friends leaving Peterboro at 5 and heading to Casino Rama Brian, maybe not such a good idea from looking at your pictures.

A bu A group of us from this board did a November trip to Quinte a few years back and it was very rough that weekend too. Lotsa boats on the water and the only one to flounder was a bass boat. Guess the waves were just too much for them and he sunk to the gunnels and left the 3 guys terrified One of our group towed them in and everyone stayed safe, but it sure could have had a much worse outcome.

Sad to hear the 14'er is still missing, Quinte can be nasty this time of year, specially in a small boat.
