  1. Really scary stuff, I've seen that on a couple different websites & emails but never realized it was in Ontario.
  2. Haven't been there in more than 20 years Will, but a couple dozen of us used to go to Bonnie View Inn at Haliburton for weekend snowmobiling trips and back then it was a pretty nice place. Big main lodge with a bar & restaurant, plus a bunch of cabins around the property. Your right at the lake and the trails go by the front door. No idea what it's like now though but it's something you may be interested in. https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&sqi=2&ved=0CDgQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bonnieviewinn.com%2F&ei=u7PyUsKvCsGRqgGz-4CoBA&usg=AFQjCNFXknkuSaB-04nTOgukxDOznUBriw&bvm=bv.60799247,d.aWM
  3. He could throw snow into his neighbors driveway on the next block with that thing LOL
  4. Yes, it said emaciated but sure doesn't look like it in the picture.
  5. Here ya go
  6. Maybe that's why the dood still looks so chunky after 16 months drifting across the ocean, could be he ATE Wilson
  7. I'm retired and live about 10 miles east of Chemong at Clear Lake and would highly recommend this area to anyone. I don't fish the tri-lakes nearly as much as I used to but always enjoy them when I do. I don't find the algae to be a problem at all and wouldn't be the least bit concerned about it, but that's just my opinion. You'll be close to Peterboro and they have most things anybody could want. And if you settle in Buckhorn, Cody Inn has about the best Chinese food around
  8. Maybe I'm just cynical, but he looks pretty good for someone who drifted on the ocean for all that time. If it is true, it's quite the fish'n tale https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&ved=0CDIQFjAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.theguardian.com%2Fworld%2F2014%2Fjan%2F31%2F16-months-adrift-pacific-marshall-islands&ei=b9jwUu3HO6GCyQHs1ICoCA&usg=AFQjCNFShslSg6zynX2KU09gkQrARtXdSQ
  9. Good to have you aboard & nice catch !!
  10. Yeah, a real loss for the community but fortunately no injuries. Firemen are a real close knit group and they'll get all the support they need until the station is rebuilt and the trucks and gear are replaced.
  11. I was talking to a neighbor the other day and he said 4 deer have been hit around here in the last couple days and yesterday I had one run across right in front of me. I'm on on a dirt road a mile & a half in off the hiway and pretty well every time I drive in or out lately we see deer on the road. I guess their just trying to get on a decent smooth place away from the deep snow for a change. Pretty tough for them too with snow piled 4 & 5 feet deep everywhere. Your thoughts about the salt seem good too Brian, I know deer like it.
  12. And bird seed too Wayne
  13. Yeah Rob, I spose the wolves & yotes have a tough time too with their shorter legs.
  14. With all the deep snow this year it must be tough for alot of the animals to get around. This guy was walking across my yard an hour ago and the snow is up to his knees and we've still got a couple months of winter to go.
  15. Some impressive fish there boyz, well done for sure !!
  16. I've had alot of tents over the years and the best ever was Eureka.
  17. Atta boy Bill, that things a brute !!
  18. Incredible pictures of incredible scenery, thanks for posting them. Never been down that way but we're talking about taking the drive in the next year or so.
  19. Sadly, some people will crash into you no matter what you do to keep yourself safe, whether your driving in poor light conditions or broke down at the side of the road. People drive on straight dry roads in bright daylight with no other cars around and they still manage to smash themselves up. I doubt anyone will argue though that flashing lights are far more visible and better at getting your attention that constant on lights. Emergency vehicles use them as do snowplows, tow trucks and pretty well any other vehicles working near moving traffic. High buildings, towers and big bridges have flashing lights so planes can see them easier and even lighthouses use a flashing light so they get the attention of ships still miles out at sea. People need to learn how to drive & pay attention to their surroundings and not crash into parked vehicles because they have their 4 ways on. Just like they need to put their stupid cell phones down while their driving. And something that always bugs me is the rule that says you need to either slow down or move over to another lane when approaching a stopped emergency vehicle on the hiway, but not for some poor schmuck broke down or trying to chance a flat tire at the side of the road. I've been driving more than 50 years and ALWAYS use my 4 ways when stopped on the hiway and so far...touch wood...it's worked out OK for me.
  20. I recall a fire I was at one night years ago where we had 4 or 5 fire trucks, a couple ambulances and 1/2 a dozen police cars, all parked on the road with more flashing lights than the mid-way at the CNE. A citizen came up to us and demanded we put flares around all the trucks so passing drivers could see us. He was told by police if drivers couldn't see us with all the flashing lights a couple flares sure wouldn't make a difference. He wandered off in a huff saying he was gonna report us for putting drivers at risk but we never heard anything more.
  21. My 400 Calcutta CT started acting up a few years back and when I'd turn the handle, the spool wouldn't work. I took it over to the P'Boro office and he said to leave it with him and pick it up tomorrow. I came back the next day and he said he had to replace some part and while he had it apart he gave it a good cleaning too. I asked how much $$$$ and he said, "well it only took me 30 minutes to fix and clean and I have to charge you something, so gimme 5 bucks" THAT'S customer service the Shimano way !!
  22. Most of my gear is Shimano and one of the main reasons is their customer service. I've dealt with their Peterboro office a few times and it's always been good.
  23. Excellent show and made for an enjoyable 1/2 hour watching it.
  24. Lovesick Lake Park really is a nice place and we used to camp there when I was kid way back in the late 50's. I now live just 10 minutes down the road from there and although we don't camp there we often go to their restaurant for breakfast or dinner. Beautiful camp in a beautiful location with great fishing. I'd 2nd the recommendation.
  25. Very nice boats, I've had a couple of them.
