I said that a while back here and someone said no. I thought so because my good law abiding tax paying civilian friend does and she thinks nothing of it. 5 plants I think. I tried a few babies a few times but the brisk winds blow the buds off. As for the conversation I think the first step is to decriminalize it then take the step to legalize it. To get busted for a roach and then not to be able to cross the border is medieval. I wonder what can happen for all those that were busted for a small amount in the past if it is legalized. I would like to see anything but trafficking be expunged from the record. I have a pal that was busted for a joint over 30 years ago and after paying the $1500.00 to the US to review his record he was denied and he can't visit his own sister in the US. We have to wonder if having the same name as a notorious mobster here has anything to do with it?

My deepest condolences the family, friends and the community. Is it just me but it seems every week this winter in Ontario someone dies on the water. My impression is that people are taking bigger and bigger risks today. These were not 2 stupid people. Why no PFD's, rule #1, and why would someone wear chestwaders in a Kayak that will fill full of water if you capsize and take you down like a rock? I am guilty of having a PFD in a canoe went it capsized a mile offshore on Erie and didn't have it on, that was stupid and lazy, I got lucky. I just don't understand. What a waste. If they were friends of mine I would be very upset with them.

I thought Bush said Jihad, he may have said Crusade as well. The toughest job in the world had to be the White House Press Secretary when marble mouth douleya was Prez. Man this thread is getting deep. I have to say is that Arabic is one of the most difficult languages in the world to directly translate a word in one single English word. I have a pal who's father was a chemical engineer and he lived in the middle east growing up and learned Farsi and Liturgical Arabic. Many Arabic's can't understand each other when they speak. There is a Sicilian dialect that has as much Arabic as Italian. No way some people in Italy can understand a word they are saying to each other and they are both speaking Italian. When I speak Calabrese to my Father he has no clue sometimes as to what I'm saying. Be careful trying to translate a language literally when you have no clue how to speak that language. Japanese is another language that can't be directly translated into English for many words. The same word with a different inflection means something completely different. Say good morning in Japanese to someone in the afternoon or night and it means you or something is late. Going back to the Crusades? Man this is going to be good. y the way Woodenboater that link is a good read and from a fairly good source with ties to Sydney University I believe. Sometimes these Internet News sources are a complete joke.

Good going Pump. We used to fish there every spring and fall until yes it became a Gong Show. We stopped after cars from NY, Ohio and Michigan were double parked in the lots and streets. Hopefully they cleaned up the bottom somehow because snags bouncing bottom were steady, one after another. That gets tiring real fast. The only way to fish was casting F-10's and lighter spoons. At least there were 2 Ballets that way then to lick your wounds after a day of snags and dealing with idiots. Nice fish.

The wind knocked me down like a feather, it can happen that fast. Just like when you slipped on the wet floor in the store. The scary part was I drove home and didn't remember driving the next day.

Anyone know what these lures are actually called?

You have me howling Rick. Snip and tuck time? -
I just said be careful. I got a concussion when I slammed the back of my head on the ice when there was a few inches of water on the "thick" ice when I slipped. It's not always how thick the ice is, there are other conditions to be careful of, like water on the ice. At our age we aren't as sure footed as I at least once was. A thick skull helps.

If there is a lure out there I would bet there is a cheap knock off from China. It sure looks like a Mr. Champ but I haven't seen one in that pattern. I say a knock off. Doe's that pink attractor look too big for that hook? -
The day looks beautiful, and a few bonus Trout. Can it get any better in the middle of February, up here anyway?

Just be careful Cliff. I would be waiting for open water season now. We don't want to read about you in the paper. Even Manitoubass2 went through the ice last month and his next door neighbour is Mr. and Mrs. Clause.

Temiscaming Area Recommendations
Old Ironmaker replied to PickerelHunter's topic in General Discussion
A PM to Mike Borger might be an idea. Mike is the man when it comes to good info. on all areas especially lodges for great fishing in the Province for sure. When in doubt ask Mike. -
Art I have no idea how the programing on the board works. If someone is blatantly breaking the rules of this great informative forum is there a button you can push to lock out only that poster thus keeping the thread open for those that adhere to the rules? This is only one of the only forums that thin gs remain civil, usually. Man there are forums out there that you shake your head at some of the more than nasty posts, steeped in religious and political banter and worse of all racism . Keep up the good work all you administrators. We do appreciate the work you all do and we don't thank you enough. Actually Speil doesn't do much except cash those huge cheques from the profits you all make running this thing.

Anyone going to Jamaica soon? and wanna fish?
Old Ironmaker replied to Shloim's topic in General Discussion
I hadn't planned on it but if you want some company I'm more than happy to join you on a free for me trip, I might even kick in a few bucks at least. The picture of you wearing a winter coat isn't the weather I would expect though. I haven't been in over 10 years and have always wanted to fish there but so little time and it might cut into my poolside happy hours. I saw some monster Bass in a pond on a Golf Course in Runaway Bay. The smallest had to be 5 pounds. Thanks for the lead, you never know. Johnny D -

I knew the names of the chemicals but can't spell them. That's your job kiddo. That's a situation driving your wife to the hospital you will never forget. I might have named the kid "Waytt". As far as proceeding with the charges, we will have to wait and see. It's a tough call after thinking about it. You must NEVER drive while under the influence, unless? That's why I always say we have a county of 45,000 citizens and the phone book has an entire page of Lawyers in the yellow pages. The lawyers are the only winners in this case. -
If keeping a few always bleed them out in the water then put them on ice immediately. With the crazy price for a bag of ice we fill large soda bottles with water and freeze them the night before. Throw them in the live well or simply a cooler. Lay the fish under the frozen bottles. I use the same bottles all season, just throw them back in the freezer. Rinse them off before re freezing. They will stay frozen all day in the summer and even overnight if in a cooler.

This thread has had more twists and turns than a mountain road in the Alps.

I've fished out of and ran a similar Smoker Craft with a 40. I was very impressed with it. Even with 15 footer I would personally choose the side council. I get stiff running a tiller and uncomfortable facing straight ahead and my torso skewed to one side. If set up right there is enough room for 2 adults. Not a Great Lakes boat but perfect for Kawartha type lakes.

A very tragic story. No Crown with any sense or compassion will proceed with the charges. It's like the guy driving 130KPH in an 80 to take his wife to the hospital when she goes into labour and the head of the baby is coming out. A Cop stopping them isn't going to write him a ticket. It would be interesting to know what he did blow. The Brain is such an amazing thing. When something like this happens chemicals are pumped into the body and brain and an individual can sober up immediately. I've seen it happen a few times myself. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of a fellow fisherman. It could have been anyone of us. -
I was given a tip here to marinate a steak like that in Virgin Olive Oil for a few days. I forgot one for over a week and it was fantastic. You could cut it with a fork, Try it.

Bilzz said "my brother in law had years of schooling experience he was hit in the face by a certain person who did not respect our customs, he went to the hospital and died not long after..he taught in the scarbourough area" What in God's name was that all about? What a tragic story. Care to elaborate. Man if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any luck. I will hijack this thread to hear this sad story if you wish to share John. If not I understand.

I digressed again, my apologies.
