  1. A pal has one and it works. He did replace it a few times until he ran it through 1" thin wall ABS. No problems since. As for the morality of it that is the owners individual decision. If that pesky rabbit or squirrel bothers him enough he will jump high enough to get past the shock but always comes back home. Food must be a strong motive to return. It sure beats scrapping the pup off the road in my opinion.
  2. Back to Shag. The home made Grappa is available to me. If I can't start the truck a shot of that and away she go. One for the truck, one for Shag one for Johnny D and repeat.
  3. Back to alsoknownas Shag, (I like that) I don't know where you live but I'm available anytime for supper. I'll bring the Vino and Brandy. It used to be Louis XIII Cognac but I'm retired now.
  4. It's been a while eh boys? Play nice, nice. Someones dog got a hold of the fish before it was released.
  5. Were you reading my mind? I'm looking for a baitcaster, I hope you get some good feedback. What is the advantage you see in a round reel KraTTor? From Shimano: Most likely one of the most liked and used round profile baitcasters ever sold in Europe incorporating the latest Shimano technology. Its one piece cold forged frame now houses an X-Ship engine which will let this reel operate even smoother than before with increased cranking power capabilities. Simply the strongest and most reliable baitcasting reel with a reputation going back over 20 years X-Ship for higher rigidity and enormous cranking power Shimano's highly acclaimed Variable Brake System giving the reel a consistent spool speed for optimised distance casting Dartanium Drag providing a wider range of drag settings and Shimano's smoothest drag performance ever giving anglers extra confidence needed while fighting aggressive fish
  6. Doug, all that food for 1 dinner, bless you. Please tell me you had guests over like M2B2's Army. No salt in the goose leg wrapped in Bacon, bacon salt maybe enough? I never add salt when I use bacon usually, or copious amounts of cheese. like Carbonarri sauce. Did I answer my own question? I'm not trying to be smart again but what is the difference between side bacon and reg. bacon? I always though bacon was from the belly. I know Canadian is loin and nothing to do with bacon, I thought. Not too many times I hear someone that knows what Acini di Peppi is. Mini pipes in Italian, sort of. Great in any soup that calls for rice or pasta. They don't consume the broth when you put leftover soup in the fridge. I just happen to have a bowl of leftover mash in the fridge, what should I do with it I wonder??? Thanks a lot Doug, there goes the blood sugar levels.
  7. That noise is me laughing. I like the idea of putting the tank behind the exhaust. From a vehicle I'm guessing. When I did do the icefish thing, not too long ago, I always put a piece of Roxul in my bag. I put a chunk under the battery operated fishfinder on the ice. You could wrap a piece around the tank on the way out to I imagine. A nice size piece weighs nothing.
  8. WD, you live 15 minutes from the border. Why ship it home. See if Gander Mountain in Tonawanda has them. Go and pick it up and throw it in the truck. Take the tags off, mail yourself the receipt from there and run over it a few times in the parking lot. You would think I've done it myself more than a few times. That is if the exchange doesn't kill you. No broker, duty etc.
  9. Which one Brian floater or no float? Not much good if you sink to the bottom. I tried my inflatable over my winter garb last fall, no fit. I'm not at my fighting weight anymore but I'm not huge either. I'll check there and Bill's too today after I do my chores that can be done tomorrow, I'm off tomorrow too. Save me a Perch sangwitch. Stay warm and especially dry you nut. I sent you a PM. Johnny D
  10. I don't know about the Snow Bug handle as well as using them as school busses in the 40's up north. I do know they were used in WW2 to go where nothing else would. They were to be the best mode of transportation with weaponry for the military to protect Alaska from a eventual invasion from a Japanese landing there. Then to use against the Russians that could see Sarah Palins house from their base. The first thing my Uncle from the US said when we went to Nippising in the 70's was I remember seeing those things during the war somewhere. He thought he remembered seeing them lined up in England on the base but not in action. On the Russian front they sure would be handy.
  11. Them are some fancy fishin Yaks there boys. We did some fishing out of Kayaks way back. Much fun and great exercise. I love when I see the salt guys hook into a small tuna. Those tails thrash and they have a 20 horse kicker on the side. What are the ultimate things you need on them in order to be the man on the water. BBQ's?
  12. Doesn't the solid plastic in the bucket interfere with the sonar? I thought that is why all the snow was cleared to clear ice.
  13. KraTTor, if I may ask what the Calcutta went for. I'm in the market for a good bait caster. If anyone here has one they want to unload PM me.
  14. Taking any and all precautions is a very smart thing to do. I just won't go onto Lake Erie in a 14 foot tinny, no matter what time of the year it is. The river or a smaller lake no problem at all, that water is just as cold. A suit is a great investment. That's my precautions. To each his own. I will continue to type on. Are the suits at Fishing World a fair price? And your welcome Brian, no problem, I can do all your Googling.
  15. I don't think there was such a thing as The MOE then. The problem is the water would freeze in a bottle, but I hear you. Plumbers antifreeze then, not as toxic To think of it what happens to the gazillion gallons of the stuff that we spray on our windshields?
  16. I wouldn't put myself in a position to have to wear something to survive, unless I am and still on occasion are paid big bucks to do so. The last time was 3 weeks in Iran in 13'. Worndunker and I know each other fairly well and fish together when I remember to charge my cranking battery. He loves to take risks I would never consider since I got older and bust his corleones about it whenever I get a chance. I worked in, and still do occasionally, an industry that has the highest rate of fatalities in the world, that's how I got my thrills.
  17. No bubble here, don't worry. I just get paid to get my thrills.
  18. Exactly WD. Thus I use 2 Rappalas, Silver and Black and Black and Silver. 2 Mepps, both Black Fury a #5 and another but the number has been chewed off.
  19. I like the 6 pac theory until I saw the other side, pristine, a plastic ring would go all the way around the fish I believe. The evidence leads to a prop now, but what about the puncture wound? I love a good mystery. The fish is talking but we aren't listening close enough.
  20. I'm not sure about this streaming thing. Kid Bro was telling me they were watching the Super Bowl home, new commercials included and with 5 minutes to go in the game they lost the signal. It didn't matter this year but if it was last year and I missed the end of that game I would have lost it. I went through the satellite dish and card thing 15 years ago. Watch a PPV and 1/2 way through it you loose the patch and scramble to clean it using codes on line with a 56K land line Modem. That was enough for me to switch back to Bell Satellite and have been with them since. You get what you pay for is the old saying. We don't have the bandwidth here for streaming anyway. Hey you guys here have me spewing techie jargon, bandwidth, listen to me!!!
  21. I know it's cold when my nose hairs freeze too Art, but I'm watching TV in here.
  22. Why do you need a survival suit WD? If it's for work for you to earn the big bucks I get it. I get paid to get exited, I never pay to get exited. Rhetorical question Brian. I just don't get you old guys that still need the thrills still. Just my opinion. Fishing World Hamilton. That's close, real close. https://fishingworld.ca/products/6396-arctic-armour-suit-red-black-xl-
  23. PM me as well Glen if you wish. I no longer use it but I did pass the test for my GC licence in Ont and have done more than a few.
  24. It has a puncture wound Bill. I would have liked to have seen the other side of Mr. Pike.
  25. Without anymore Bull how is that foot today? OK more Bull, your foot model days are over. Man that is one ugly foot. I guess pedicures aren't big up there for guys. It looks like the before picture for toe fungus cream. Actually is that you on those commercials, maybe your career isn't done??? You can be the after guy in the metatarsal safety boot ad.
